Though she is not Jewish, Marilyn has a deep knowledge of this subject matter gained through study. I believe she has a master’s degree in Sephardic Jewish history as well as Hebrew and Arabic. It was a pleasure to tour the city with her. Though there are no material remains to see (Queen Isabella having destroyed everything), Marilyn brought the history to life. I appreciated her taking us by taxi to an elevated vantage point to start the tour. Walking up the hill would have wasted valuable time and been exhausting.
