Had a fabulous experience on this tour. Excellent tour guide (Chris). Chamonix is beautiful, standing on the glass floor and the train ride up to Montenvers was fun. Everything went smoothly and safely. We did not get to go into the Mer de Glace ice cave due to safety issues... but I appreciate that our safety was a priority. Thank you for a great trip. I will recommend to others!

Antonia was great. He was very patient and pleasant. We got lucky with just a small group of 3 couples so it was really nice. He make sure we have enough time on each stops and take enough photos. The view was absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend.

Firstly, bus station is easy to locate, and the Swiss Tour coach was extremely clean and comfortable. Coach left on time for an hours drive to the magnificent ski resort town of Chamonix. Driver was confident, and a big thank you for navigating carefully. David our extraordinary tour leader, made added effort to clearly communicate instructions to each person on our tour. David delivered a fantastic commentary of the history, the extra tours, and much more… This tour brought one of the greatest experiences I’ve encountered. The scenery from 3,800 meters was breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. We were blessed with near perfect weather giving opportunity to see an endless flotilla of major snow peaked mountains. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone and everyone. Thank you to David, and Swiss Tours for a memorable day!!

Great Day. Antoine was wonderful

Jared_L, Apr 2026
Beautiful weather. Very lucky. The description of the tour was exactly what we did. We had a small group which was nice! Our guide , Antoine, was wonderful. We wished I has cash on me to tip him. He deserved it 100%.

Unmissable

Anthony_M, Apr 2026
Fantastic experience and a great all round day trip. Hard to imagine a more picturesque place. Chamonix is a beautiful chocolate box place and Mont Blanc and the ice cave are incredible

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hi there, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic day and that you enjoyed the stunning scenery of Chamonix, Mont-Blanc, and the ice cave. It really is a breathtaking part of the world, and we’re so glad you were able to experience it fully. Your kind words mean a lot to all of us at Keytours Switzerland, and we hope to welcome you again on another memorable excursion soon!

Great experience, highly recommend.

Maree_B, Apr 2026
Chris was our guide and he was brilliant. A local to Chamonix and very knowledgeable along the way. He knew the operators of the cable car up to the peak so was able to gain inside knowledge on when was the best time to go up, versus going up and being unable to participate due to high winds. We had a great time, but it was early April and the wind was high and the temperature at the peak was -18° so be well prepared with thick gloves, scarves, socks and good shoes. There are many steps, so know that you must be mobile to do the full experience tour.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hi Maree, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re delighted to hear you had a great time in Chamonix and that Chris made such a strong impression. His local knowledge and experience really do make a difference, especially when it comes to timing visits to the cable car and making the most of changing mountain conditions—so we’re glad that added value to your day. You’ve also shared some excellent advice for future guests. Conditions at the summit can be quite extreme, even in spring, and your tips about warm clothing and mobility are very helpful for anyone planning the full experience. Thanks again for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!

Best day ever! Our guide Tony was amazing and made us all feel a ease with his knowledge and detailed explanations

Amanda_F, Mar 2026
The most perfect day full of wonderful views the staff were lovely but I would not recommend using the cafe at the top of mountain staff so slow and rude

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a perfect day and enjoyed the wonderful views, as well as the service from our team. We’re sorry to hear about your experience at the café at the top of the mountain. While it is independently operated, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will be sure to share your feedback. We hope to welcome you again on another Keytours experience soon! Best regards, The Keytours Team

Top Of Our Wonderful World.

Deborah_R, Mar 2026
A truly magnificent experience not to be missed! We originally booked for 25th but the forecast wasn't good so we took advantage of cancellation policy. We made a last minute decision the night before to rebook for Tuesday as the forecast was good. Oh my word thank goodness we did! What a fabulous day seamlessly coordinated by Tony our tour leader who was charming and informative and kept us in the right place at the right time. The day was clear and sunny and the views from the top were magnificent. The cable car was not as scary as we imagined and we even enjoyed a coffee in the outside cafe in the sunshine at the halfway point, whilst envying the skiers. The train trip to the glacier was a bonus and we managed the steps down to the ice caves. We were determined not to miss the opportunity. Please do this trip - it may seem expensive but worth every penny. Exciting, exhilarating and reminding us of our wonderful world!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Debora, Thank you for your fantastic review and for choosing Keytours! We’re so glad you were able to reschedule and enjoy such a beautiful day — it sounds like it made all the difference. We’re delighted to hear that Tony made the experience seamless and memorable, and that you enjoyed everything from the cable car to the glacier and ice caves. Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Amy, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a fabulous experience and that Chris made your tour enjoyable and memorable. Chamonix Mont Blanc truly is a breathtaking destination, and we’re glad you got to enjoy highlights like the glass floor and the scenic train ride to Montenvers. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the closure of the Mer de Glace ice cave. Safety is always our top priority, and we’re grateful for your positive attitude. Thank you again for your recommendation—it means a lot to us! Kind regards,

Complete waste and refund we were promised was then denied

Kristen_D, Mar 2026
We signed up for the full experience with the gondola and train. We started the day going up the gondola. Then, due to winds, we got stuck up there for most of the day. We spent three hours standing in long lines waiting to get back down. When we got down our guide told us we could not do the train because it was too late but we would receive a refund automatically. When we didn’t receive a refund I contacted Viator who said there would be no refund because the tour company did not approve one. A huge waste of a day and total disappointment.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Madam, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We completely understand your disappointment. Please note that we cannot control the weather, and conditions can change rapidly in the mountains. At the time of your ascent, it was safe to proceed, but the situation changed unexpectedly. The Mont Blanc cable car company is responsible for the safety of all guests, and given the circumstances—similar to incidents at Titlis—it was necessary to wait rather than risk anyone’s safety. These are the realities of mountain environments. While a full refund is not possible, we did approve a refund for the activity you were unable to do (the Ice Cave). If you have not yet received it, please contact Viator directly. We appreciate your understanding and hope you still enjoyed parts of your day in the mountains safely. kind regards

Amazing trip

Carol_H, Mar 2026
Wear layers. If you have mobility issues there are a lot of steps down to and up from ice caves. Excellent day out, an amazing experience.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Carol, Thank you for your review and for sharing this helpful tip with future travelers. Wearing layers and being prepared for the steps near the ice caves is indeed great advice. We’re delighted to hear that you had an excellent day and that the experience in Chamonix was such a memorable one. It truly is an amazing place to visit. Thank you for choosing Keytours, and we hope to welcome you again on another wonderful excursion!

Chamonix day trip from Geneva

David_R, Feb 2026
We had a very good guide (Kris). We did the trip in February so need to dress warm. Unfortunately we didn’t get up the Aiguille du Midi due to the second cable car to the top been closed due to the wind so we went up the other side to Brévent. Managed to go into the ice cave which was great to experience. Great town with good places to eat and drink. Bus to and from Geneva was very easy and comfortable.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your lovely review! We’re so pleased to hear that you had a very good experience with Christos — we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words. Although it’s unfortunate that the Aiguille du Midi cable car was closed due to wind, we’re glad you were still able to enjoy Brévent and make the most of your day. It’s also wonderful to hear that you experienced the ice cave — it truly is something special. We’re happy that you enjoyed the town, as well as the comfortable and easy bus transfer to and from Geneva. We hope to welcome you again on another trip soon! Kind regards

Our favorite of three Geneva excursions

Robert_R, Feb 2026
Very smooth and well organized. Nice refund for portion that was closed for the day due to avalanche warning (train and ice cave).

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you very much for your kind feedback, Robert. We’re delighted to hear that you found your experience smooth and well organized with Keytours. Providing a seamless and well-coordinated excursion is always our priority. While it’s never ideal when certain attractions — such as the train and ice cave — must close due to avalanche warnings, safety always comes first in the mountains. We’re glad the partial refund process met your expectations and that our team was able to handle the situation promptly and fairly. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you again for another adventure in the future!

Mont Blanc and Mer De Glacé

Monalisa_S, Feb 2026
This trip is worth doing. The majestic views of Mont Blanc from Aiguille de Midi, getting clicked in the glass box (Step into the Void) and the wonder of Ice Caves at Mer de Glacé is just mind blowing. Chris our tour guide from KeyTours was very helpful and explained everything so well. Got lucky with the weather. Got clear views of the French Alps and even Matterhorn on the Swiss side.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you so much for your amazing review! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the breathtaking views from Aiguille du Midi, the Step into the Void experience, and the Ice Caves at Mer de Glace. We’re glad Chris could make your tour informative and enjoyable. It sounds like the weather was on your side—what a fantastic way to see the French Alps and even the Matterhorn! We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon.

Antone was a great tour guide. Too bad we werent able to go to Mont Blanc because of the weather. Im glad to hear we will be able to get our money back though for the cable ride that did not happen. Otherwise, strolling around Chamonix was a great day.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed exploring Chamonix with Antoine. We’re sorry the weather didn’t allow the Mont Blanc visit, but we’re glad the refund for the cable ride has been arranged. We hope to welcome you back soon for another memorable experience!

Definitely worth the hype ! With a tour guide you won’t have to worry about anything and get a bunch of insights about this wonderful mountain land. We had tour guide David and we couldn’t be more grateful for him. Thank you David, you exceeded our expectations by miles.

When you pay for a scenic bus tour you would like to be able to look out the windows.

Winston_C, Jan 2026
Environment was amazing! There were a number of opportunities for improvement. The bus ride there was cold on the lower level. All the windows were fogged over so you could not see. The outside windows of the bus had not been cleaned. The cafeteria on the mountain had abysmal service. There is a huge opportunity there. Someone should go to the Zermatt/Matterhorn cafe and see how it should be done. Someone of the people were very cold and a warning may have helped them dress better. Clearly world class but relied too much on the mountain and not enough on the service.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback — we really appreciate it. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the environment. We understand your concerns about the cold bus ride, the fogged and dirty windows, and the cafeteria service. You’re right that the service should match the quality of the location. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. Your comments will help us make future experiences even better. Kind regards

Wow wow wow, 100% recommend your!

Eamon_B, Jan 2026
What an amazing day! We left right on time (hint: don’t be late!), and made great time to our first stop. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about us home town, Charmonix. Comfortable ride, well organised disembarkation and clear instructions. The gondola was pre-booked so we walked straight on. Amazing views from the top, a bit of a wait for the glass box, so worth it! Next stop was the train, and what a journey up! The ice cave as amazing. Would highly recommend this tour and the gondola and train addons. Very professional and well organised.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback! We're so glad to hear you had a fantastic day on our Chamonix tour. It’s great to know everything went smoothly, from the timely departure to the seamless gondola ride and unforgettable views. The ice cave is always a highlight! We're happy you enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the gondola and train add-ons. We hope to welcome you on another adventure with Keytours soon!

Don’t do this tour!

Charlotte_H, Dec 2025
If you enjoy paying over the odds to queue like sardines and waste hours of your day being rushed or standing around, then this is the tour for you. Otherwise, save your money and travel independently. Everything is done in large groups, with 30–40 people waiting around for the guide to speak, only to hear irrelevant information that slows everyone down and takes time away from actually experiencing the destination. I’ve taken guided tours all across Europe, and this was one of the most poorly timed and badly organised tours I’ve ever experienced.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you, Charlotte, for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. The destination you selected is one of the most famous and popular ski resorts in France, and your visit took place during the Christmas period, which is one of the busiest times of the year. Even with reservations in place, high visitor numbers during peak season can lead to waiting times and a more crowded atmosphere. Our tours are designed to showcase iconic destinations within a limited timeframe, and our guides provide explanations to help guests better understand the area. We understand, however, that group travel and peak-season conditions may not suit everyone. For a quieter and more relaxed experience, traveling during the low season is often recommended. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Viator should evaluate recommending this tour!

Mia_J, Dec 2025
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this tour, what an absolute nightmare! Firstly, this is the first tour in over 10 years of using Viator all over the world, where I did not receive any contact from the tour operator prior to the tour. Usually I receive a call or WhatsApp message with name and number of the tour guide and photos of meeting point - for this I received nothing. I turned up to the Geneva Bus Station as per the meeting point, with endless coaches and no sign or instructions what bus to hop on or who I was looking for. After asking several people, I finally was told to hop on a bus. We were given a paper itinerary, with “passport required”, yet it had no mention of that on the Viator tour details! Thankfully I had a photo of mine on my phone. The paper itinerary said to meet the guide in front of Mer de Glacé Station at 1:50pm. I walked around for 10 mins and could not find him. There ended up being at least 20 of us standing together concerned that we had either missed the train or at the wrong spot. I phoned the tour operator and explained and was spoken to very rudely by a lady. She said “no one else has this problem”, and I responded “yes there is because there’s over 20 of us standing together”. I had to beg her and ask 3 times for her to phone the tour guide and ask where he was. She eventually did and told me, he was 2 mins away and then hung up on me. So he was late!! Then it happened again, the paper itinerary said bus departure at 5pm, yet when we arrived at the location at the exact time, could not see the tour guide and there were buses going to Geneva Airport, but not Geneva Bus Station where we started the tour. The bus driver did not know where the other buses were, so we got on the bus to the airport, so we at least got back to Geneva! A tour should be an enjoyable, pleasant experience on holiday, not stressful and unorganised which this tour is. Not to mention, half the day is free time and there is little information given by the guide of the area and attractions, so I recommend people not waste their money on this tour - and see the same sights themselves.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you felt stressed during the day; however, we would like to clarify several important points for accuracy. Firstly, this is a shared coach tour, and unlike private tours, individual contact via WhatsApp or phone prior to departure is not standard practice. The meeting point (Geneva Bus Station) and departure instructions are clearly indicated on the Viator voucher. On site, multiple tours depart from the same location, and our staff and drivers are present to direct passengers to the correct coach. Regarding the passport requirement, this information is clearly stated in the tour description. The tour crosses an international border into France, and passports are mandatory. In Switzerland, it is in fact required to carry valid identification at all times, including for Swiss residents, so this should not come as a surprise on an international excursion. At Mer de Glace, the meeting point and return time were respected by the guide. Unfortunately, you were not waiting at the correct location and did not remain with the group. The guide cannot be expected to search individually for guests who do not follow the instructions given. Despite this, our office did contact the guide on your request and confirmed his arrival time. Concerning the return journey, all buses stop both at Geneva city center and Geneva Airport, which is clearly explained. Boarding the airport bus still brings you back to Geneva, and again, the guide provided instructions that were not followed. We regret that you did not enjoy the experience, but the tour operated as advertised, and the difficulties encountered were due to instructions not being followed rather than a lack of organization. We nonetheless thank you for your feedback.

School trip/cattle market

Shaun_I, Dec 2025
No organisation, bus full, and we got there early. Like a cattle market. Cable car not working due to weather. They knew this before the trip. No refund no alternative options unless you wsnted to pay extra. Tour guide basically said get on with it bye.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hi Shaun, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Chamonix–Mont-Blanc is the most visited mountain resort in France, and during peak periods can be busy despite everyone arriving early. The guide helps you to go through the day, find options, alternatives. Regarding the cable car, its operation is not guaranteed and is entirely dependent on weather conditions for safety reasons. This is clearly stated in the information section provided before booking, as mountain weather can change quickly and is a risk inherent to this destination. Unfortunately, even when conditions look acceptable earlier, closures can occur at short notice by the mountain authorities. When the cable car is not operating, an alternative option is always offered, allowing guests to still enjoy Chamonix and the surrounding area. Refunds are not possible in these cases as the tour itself still operates as advertised, excluding weather-dependent activities. Best regards

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you had such an awesome experience and that you found the bus comfortable. We’re especially happy to know that Chris made the tour enjoyable with his knowledge and care for everyone in the group. We truly appreciate your kind words and would be delighted to welcome you again on another tour with Keytours in the future!

Expensive but a good experience. Can imagine it’s breathtaking if you get the right day

Kirsty_G, Dec 2025
Due to strong winds we never got to go up to the top or step into the void we only got to the half way point but it was so foggy we couldn’t see anything at all. Still glad we got to go half way at least as it was touch & go for us on the day but it was an expensive trip & we will need to pay to go back & try it again which is unfortunate. The ice caves were also closed when we went so that was also a bummer. So all we got was half way in the cable cars & a ride on the train basically. I think you should get some sort of refund in these situations but I know it’s not something they can control

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the weather conditions affected your experience. However, please note that the ice caves and the step into the void are optional activities and are offered free of charge. These are not the main focus of the excursion, which is centered around the cable car ride and the scenic views. We understand your disappointment and appreciate your understanding that some factors, such as weather, are beyond our control. We’re glad you were able to experience part of the excursion, and we hope you have the opportunity to return in better conditions. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Kind regards

Not really a tour… misleading wording as to whats included and TICKED!

sarah_c, Dec 2025
Not really a tour… just expensive transport….think you are booking everything that the little ticks say…. But no! Make sure you scroll down after the ‘book’ button for the other options which are way more expensive and have the ‘options’ for the train ride and cable car… both of which were shut on the day we went! When the tour guide (who was very polite) explained that we did not have it included, he then charged us £230 extra for two train tickets and two cable car tickets… if purchased directly from the source would have been considerably cheaper. The train was cancelled due to works that had been confirmed the day before… viator and keytours still had this package available when we booked the night before and on the assumption that we were doing this tour, it was very misleading that they had it available when it was not. Chamonix is lovely bit very sleepy in the morning when we were dropped off and did not get the picturesque glacier train ride so had hours there for breakfast, lunch and a very leisurely wander. The views from flegeres at the top are incredible. Book your transportation yourself dont bother with the tour as its just a glorified transfer from geneva to chamonix. Book directly with the cable car company and the train… easier to get a refund if they dont go ahead.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, and we truly apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience you experienced during your tour. We understand how frustrating it can be when expectations don’t align with the experience. Our aim is always to be as clear as possible, and we do offer both transport only and transport + activities options so that guests can choose what suits them best. We also offer the flexibility to pay in CHF or € on the spot, and there’s no obligation to pay in one currency if that’s not your preference. Regarding the train cancellation, we sincerely regret that it was not communicated to us in advance. Unfortunately, the issue arose unexpectedly on the day of your tour, with the maintenance announcement only being made at 10 AM, which we completely understand was frustrating. We’re glad, however, that you were able to enjoy La Flégère—it’s a stunning area that’s difficult to reach by public transport from Geneva, and we hope the views were a highlight of your day. Once again, we deeply appreciate your feedback and are sorry for the challenges you encountered. We’ll continue to work on improving our communication and ensuring that future guests have a smoother experience. Best regards,

A great day out!

Loved the experience of visiting Chamonix and whilst the weather wasn't great (didn't see much!), this was made up for the fact our guide Chris put a lot of effort into ensuring that the day ran smoothly, making for an enjoyable day out

Louisiana to the top of Europe

Dress warm! It was -3 Celsius up there, but even that was awesome. Our tour guide, Christian was magnificent, he herded our group and ensured that we had a great time. And oh the sights, to be at the top of Europe! Seeing Mont Blanc, a life changing sight. To learn about the glacier, and we even saw a boulder fall while we were there. Just a magnificent excursion.

Dear Lance, We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed a unique experience on the Roof of Europe! At this time of year, the temperatures are already quite chilly at the summit of the Aiguille (3,800 m – just 1,000 m below Mont Blanc). Rest assured, we’ll pass on your warm words to Christos, we’re thrilled he helped make your excursion even more memorable. Thank you again for sharing your experience !

Outstanding excursion-do not miss the experience!
