Great trip! Stopped at some very cool places along the way, drivers and staff were all super friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely do this again and highly recommend for anyone looking to get a very unique experience for just 2 days!

Pedro was a great tour operator for the Sahara adventure. He was nice and met all accommodations. Would recommend this tour.

I have used viator for many years and booked this tour and was extremely disappointing and the supplier was rude and unhelpful. I had to wake up at 3.15am to chase the supplier (as they would not return messages) as I had booked for 3 of us on one booking and my friend from Canada on another booking. The supplier rang our hotel and said the trip is only from Fes and not Marrakesh, but advert says it is Marrakesh and we were staying there. I informed them of my hotel details before I left the UK and on the phone they refused to give a refund. This left us in a very awful position as we had no hotel booked as for that night, it was in peak season and the desert tour was overnight. They took our money staightaway and never let us pay nearer the time. I reported this supplier to viator and they should be removed off the list. Our hotel manager even spoke to the supplier in Arabic. I didn't get any sleep as I had to deal with this for 90 mins in the early morning. DO NOT use this supplier at all - he will say he only goes from Fes but it clearly says both names on the advert. Viator yesterday agreed to give the refund. It has been an awful experience and unacceptable!

Our guide Tarek was wonderful and very helpful , he gave us a lot of information on the country
The desert experience was amazing and very impressive

The positives :
Great food in the camp; very good experience at the Sahara desert.
Amazing sunset and sunrise, so beautiful.
The camp tents were really above average equipped with electricity and private bathrooms.
What needs to improve :
No sand boarding (although offered in the itinerary) , not good coordination via Whassap before pick up, the drive was almost 7-8 hours, but it would have been great to know that in the itinerary.
Finally, we got two flat tires, I think that was very dangerous, what is up with the quality of the tires or maintenance
Of the transport?
The driver Hussain did his best to be cordial and nice

During the trip myself and my partner were essentially kidnapped by the camel driver on the way back to camp after the sunset ride. After sunset, us and 21 others were waiting in the desert for camels to come and pick us up. After about 30 minutes, 3 camels showed up and myself, my partner, and a mother/daughter were instructed to get on the camels. About halfway back to camp, we met up with another 10 people from our group and the camel driver put the camels down and instructed the mother/daughter to get off but for me and my partner to stay on. The rest of the group asked if they could just walk back to camp instead of waiting for more camels that were not in sight. The camel driver said of course and led the trail of 3 camels and the walkers back to camp. Once arriving at camp, the walkers were instructed to turn into the back gate but he continued to take me and my partner further past camp. We initially thought he was going to park the camels around the other side where we had gotten on, but instead he continued on for another 30 minutes and stopped at a deserted camp in the pitch dark. We asked why we were there and where the others in the group were. The driver stated, "just sit down, the others are coming by car" even though it was clear that this camp was closed, empty, and not in any shape to receive guests for the scheduled dinner. The camel driver then attempted to sell us some items which we agreed to purchase in an attempt to get him to take us back to our original group. After about 20 more minutes of lies about why he took us to this spot, he agreed to take us back to the camp we were supposed to be at, but then claimed to be lost and started to head even further from the direction we were supposed to be going.
Because I have a very good sense of direction, I was aware of where we needed to go so my partner and I took off quickly in the proper direction until we could see the faint light of the camp.
Once we escaped back to the camp, visibly shaken, we collected our bags and asked to be directed to our room as the rest of the group had already been given tents and were washing up for dinner. Instead of being shown our tent, we were told again to just "sit down for a moment" and the staff continued on with their other business. I asked if I could use the bathroom but was told that the bathrooms are only in the tents. So I again asked if we could be taken to our tent then, but this request was ignored.
As we waited to be shown to our tent, dinner was served and cleaned up and at about 2300, we were finally told our tent was ready. The staff took us back around the building to a car that was waiting and we were told that they would be driving us over to our tent. We asked what camp they were taking us to and the staff said, "just get in, we will show you." After the experience with the camel ride, we informed the staff that we were not interested in being separated from the rest of the tour group again and would like to stay here in this main camp with everyone else.
The staff became confrontational and insisted we must get in the car to go to our tent as there is nothing for us at the main camp. Instead of separating from the group, my partner and I accepted an invitation from another guest to use an extra bed that they had in their tent for the night.
Needless to say, we did not get any sleep that night as we anxiously awaited our departure time in the morning to get away from the dishonest and disrespectful staff from this tour.
I do not know what the camel drivers intentions were if my partner and I had not ran back in the opposite direction to camp, but nothing about that situation felt safe or enjoyable as we expected based on the tour description.
My request for a refund from this experience was denied. It was incredibly disappointing that our dream, "Luxury" trip to Morocco had to be tainted by the memories from this excursion.

Disorganized pickup and drop off. But the real desert experience was good. Enjoyed it very much. Recommend it if you have a chance.
Juan_M, Apr 2024
There were not responsible for our tour. First the phone number in your website is for a driver and he only speaks Arabic. Then chatted with Viator and they gave me the same number. After several times somebody answered the phone. Our host in our hotel spoke with him and he said to meet at 7:30 am at some place. But None was there. After several phone calls. A taxi arrived and picked us to go to the place where the van was waiting for us. There were no guide tour in the van.
When we arrived to Merzouga drivers took us to meet the staff and camels! Staff were awesome! The show after dinner, too!
Tent and facilities were good! Hot water for a shower was ok. Food should be improved!!! We were paying for a luxury camp!

This was a trip I will never ever forget. Definitely the highlight of my month-long travel around Spain and Morocco, and I would a thousand percent go back and recommend! So worth the money and you can count on really being treated like guests in their beautiful country getting all the most authentic experience you can get. I am so glad I went here.
By the way, I’m a solo traveller and booked to English group but ended up being in Spanish group which was OK since I was learning the language so no big deal lol wish they gave me a heads up though! 😅

Very Nice trip especially our driver Hussein was amazing! He was so kind to us. The drive to the dessert is quite long but it was totally worth it. Only one small thing the time actually spent on the camels is very short and you only have 1 camel ride and not 2 as written in the description. Afterall ur was a very good and unique experience!
Lu_Z, Mar 2024
We had amazing and unforgetable trip. Our guid Hassan is very kind and helpfull. Thanks!!I will be back again!!
Danielle_A, Mar 2024
Hassan was a very friendly and warm guide. He made us feel like family. We fed The Barbary macaques, visited the nomadic community shops, road dromedaries and sand boarded. The scenery changes scene from the drive were breathtaking.
Ingrid_S, Mar 2024
We had an excellent experience traveling to the desert and staying in the camp. The driver, Imad 14, was really helpful and nice. It's a long rude but they have many cool stops so it doesn't feel as tiring. And even so, it's all worth it when you get to the desert. The dunes, the camel ride, the camp and the Berber music...very much worth it
Roberto_C, Mar 2024
WORTHLESS!
We gave just 1 star for our amazing guide Mubarak.
Too much hours in a Van basically for NOTHING.
To the organisers: please stop sending people over there from Fes and Marrakesh, too far away. TOTALLY DISORGANISED.
Jacqueline_C, Feb 2024
Hassan drove us safely through all the weather conditions on this long but beautiful journey. I recommend bring plenty of snacks to include natural fruit to feed the monkeys and dogs on the way there and back!! Also, have plenty of cash for toilet, tips and souvenirs. Although the drive is very long, it is very scenic the whole way. Expect around 10hr trip each way including stops.
Eric_E, Feb 2024
The experience was mesmerizing , Hassan our driver has been very helpful and kind he made this experience unforgettable the day in the dessert has been one of a kind experience will come back for sure thank you.
Daniel_E, Jan 2024
It's a very long drive, and while there are many stops, they're all very short and not too amazing. Luckily our driver, Hassan, was very friendly and the care was quite comfortable. You also get some great views during the drive. But even so, was it worth being in the car the entire day? Absolutely! The desert is just stunning and it was worth every minute to get there. Breathtaking views. We did some camel riding and sandboarding once we arrived (roughly at 17:30) and it was very pleasant. There were quite a few tourists at the spot but not too many. One thing that was disappointing is that there's only one sandboard, but wasn't too bad either because only a handful people actually wanted to use it. We spent roughly 1 hour in that location and then went to the camp on camelback. Overall I'd say we spent around 30-45 minutes on camelback but it was long enough for me. The camp was quite beautiful and the tents spacious - just very cold. This is the only thing which actually annoyed me. Make sure to bring warm clothes as they charge extra for heaters (150DH per person) and even with extra blankets it gets cold. The dinner was well made and enjoyable, I absolutely loved the music and fire afterwards. Amazing atmosphere, super fun people. You could tell they enjoy what they're doing. Now my personal highlight of the entire is yet to come: the night sky. Stargazing was one of the main reasons I booked this tour - and it was worth every penny. The sky is just absolutely phenomenal, you can see countless stars and it honestly just left me speechless for hours. An absolutely unforgettable experience!!

Wonderful guide and experience. Everything taken care of including return to Marrakech when I started off from Fes.
Yvette_R, Nov 2023
The desert itself is worth the journey. The landscape and transition from fes to the camp is very beautiful. The drive is very very long, so if you’re in a time crunch, keep that in mind. We did stop in between stops for like 10-15 mins to see 3 other attractions that were listed but didn’t spend much time, again due to Merzouga being so far. We also stopped to grab lunch, at this small restaurant, the food was ok. Our driver (whose name I forgot) was super nice, and if you need to use the bathroom or make a bank stop he will accommodate you. The camp itself is nice and the bathroom is inside the camp. A heavy thick fabric separates the bathroom from the sleeping area, so you can hear everything that goes on inside the bathroom. I did not mind this but if that’s something you’re uncomfortable with, keep that in mind. Both the dinner and breakfast that were offered at the camp were delicious. The camel ride, night/dawn sky, and the sand dunes are amazing and worth the trip. Also it got super cold in the morning.
Sebastian_B, Oct 2023
Staff was the best part of the experience. From the driver till the the people at the camp and the guys with camels. All was incredible.
Problem was what they offered: it was no sandboard, it was no private room since the camps seemed to be overcrowded and I had to sleep with 4 other people in the same room. Privacy in the toilet non existent, by the way.
What they offer is not honest and nobody really gave an answer.
Jonathan_U, Oct 2023
An unforgettable experience! Words can’t describe how beautiful the dessert and sky was at night. Very knowledgeable team who are there to make the experience even better. Highly recommend
Deesha_S, Oct 2023
I had a great time! I want to highlight Imad as an amazing driver, who was patient, helpful, and also fun. His driving from precise and safe. The camp was absolutely beautiful, but with great accommodations and amazing food. Our tour guide / camel handler was awesome also, I think his name was Marjuan. This experience is one that I will remember forever.

It was something that i have never ecperienced before, totally mind blowing. Wtravel with hafid, he was a really good driver.
Sofia_O, Sep 2023
We had a great experience, one of the guides picked us in our Riad and took us to the meeting point. Our driver Mohammed was fun and shared interesting information. The Sahara is just a magical place, we loved the camel ride and our stay. My only recommendation to people taking the tour is buying snacks for this long trip; the restaurants where we stopped to eat were dirty.
Damian_Z, Sep 2023
Just like the other reviews stated. Great experience! Picked me up in Fes and dropped me off in Marakech in very nice sprinter vans. The accommodations in the camp were nice and very Big. The property is very nice. The hosts at every point were very nice. The food at the camp was also very delicious . Would definitely recommend

It wasn't explained that is a 8h drive to the desert from Fes. Arrived at destination and part of my luggage was missing ( not important stuff but is not acceptable) plus there was no toilet service and we were rushed to the camels (that was 1 more hour). Only hot water for showers in the evening and very cold in the morning.
For your information we had an amazing driver( I m sorry I can't remember his name).
On the bright side I used Viator in Egipt and none of the trips were smooth ( no one showed up at the meeting point because no one knew we had a booking no customer service etc etc etc). Viator Marocco slightly better.
Best Wishes,
Olga-Nicoleta Bele

This was a unique memorable trip that I will remember and that I would like to experience again! I’m definitely recommending it to everyone

Everything was really well arranged by the people. The nature on the way to Merzouga was beautiful. We also saw monkeys which was really nice. And the people were lovely! It was a really nice experience to stay in de desert!
Antoana_T, May 2023
It was an awesome experience especially for the price. We only had a small problem because they didn’t want to pick us up and we had trouble finding the meeting point. But after that everything was perfect. It is a long ride but we listened to music and the driver was also a lot of fun. We had a lot of stops, for toilet, for shops, for a restaurant, nice views, to make pictures and seeing the monkeys. Then when we reached the dessert a car picked us up, then we had the camel ride and spend a lot of time in the dessert, the camp and the tents were insane. We had a dinner and a traditional show and all the workers were super hospitable. On the next day we had breakfast and headed back.
mauroantonio_r, May 2023
It was an amazing experience from all the points of view: the trip was great, the tent was amazing and clean, the dinner was very good and the guides where friendly!! I would advice it to all my friends.
Lidia_A, May 2023
The tour was fantastic enjoyed every minute of it. It's a long journey but fun being in the Sahara desert will reward you in plenty!
We missed the sunset, the sunrise, and star gazing due to the weather but we did have a fun strong wind at night that kept us awake. But we love it.
