We had an absolutely incredible day exploring El Yunque with Nate and Evan! Nate truly lived up to his nickname, "Nate the Great," and then some.
We wholeheartedly recommend this excursion. It was both fun and informative, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything this tour had to offer.
Not to mention the top notch photos and videos Nate and Evan took and shared with us.

This was the best experience. Our tour guide Brayan was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. He showed us the different plants that are native to PR. Brayan was helpful and went at our pace. He cheered us on and we even got the adrenaline rush of jumping off the rocks and sliding down natural slides. Hands down best experience ever would do it again.

AMAZING TOUR! 100% worth the money and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun activity with friends or family. The hike was rocky but not too hard at all, and the tour guides are very helpful in any slippery areas. WE LOVED OUR TOUR GUIDE! Nelson was amazing!!! He taught us about Yunque and was super funny and enjoyable. 10/10 I have no complaints.

This was our first excursion in PR and I gotta say... Nate, you spoiled us because we had a blast! We kept talking afterwards about how the rest of the experiences we had during our trip did not stack up to the great time you gave us!
Nate knows what he's doing and guides with such ease, we felt great support and was able to just have fun during the whole experience at El Yunque. Glad we went in the morning because it did get crowded as the day went on, with other tour groups having like 20~40 people which proved to be quite dangerous as the hikes and slides became a bit more challenging. Not our group though! We had 6 adults and 3 kids total and Nate ensured everyone was careful & safe, while guiding us on exactly where and how to step/climb as we proceeded.
His generosity extended to other tour groups as well since the bigger groups seemed to struggle with keeping their guests in line, so Nate helped out when he spotted other tour group guests struggling. He's just an awesome dude trying to ensure everyone is safe!
We're already talking about coming back soon, so when that happens, I'll be sure to guide them your way ;)

Our guide Sebas and he was AMAZING!! It was great, he was very informative, showed where to step and what to expect. The reason why I gave it a 3 stars an not a 5 stars was the false advertising. PARENTS, THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS UNDER 10! I had my 5 and 6 year old because the option we chose the lighter version.
The option reads "Quick safety briefing and intro before entering the jungle. Duration: 20 minutes"
and then
"Begin a scenic 15-minute jungle hike through lush trails filled with tropical plants and wildlife. Reach a hidden natural river pool where you can swim, slide down natural rock formations, and — if you’re up for it — try an optional cliff jump. Relax by the waterfalls, take photos, and enjoy local snacks and water provided by your guide. Duration: 3.5 hours"
We did not climb for a grand total of 35 minutes. We climbed up the mountain for 2 miles (2.5 hours) because Sebas told us that this would be a 2 miles climb at the beginning. I asked, is this ok for the kids, he said.. it'll be fine. Parents, I'm talking about steep, sharp, slippery rocks up and down the mountain and cliffs. The other adults and guides had to help bring my kids up and down because it was so hard for them. There were other similar aged kids and those parents struggled as well. The kids had vests but no helmets heaven forbid they would fall. Other tours had helmets except for us. Though I do not regret going to El Yunque, and I loved my guide, this company needs to do better at advertising the truth. I would NEVER have chosen this option for a family with small children.

Thank you for your feedback, and we truly appreciate your kind words about Sebas—he’s a great guide and we’re glad you enjoyed his knowledge and energy during the experience.
We do want to clarify a few important points for future guests reading this. Our tour includes different sections with varying levels of difficulty, and guides always provide options along the way depending on each guest’s comfort level. In this case, there was a point where guests could remain at a lower, easier area while others continued to a more advanced section.
Our understanding is that your group chose to continue beyond that point and later decided not to proceed with the activity, which led to using a more challenging path. Our guides are trained to offer safer alternatives and clearly communicate options so each group can make the best decision for their situation—especially when children are involved.
We always recommend that families with younger children carefully consider the physical nature of the experience, as parts of the rainforest terrain can be uneven, steep, and slippery depending on conditions.
That said, we take your feedback seriously and will continue improving how we communicate difficulty levels and expectations so families can make fully informed decisions ahead of time.
We’re glad to hear you still enjoyed the beauty of El Yunque, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

The experience was incredible. Nate was very knowledgeable. Safety was a priority, helping everyone know where to step and jump. Everyone had a great time on the rope swing, slide and doing the big jump! We had an age range from 63 to 9 years old. Would highly recommend Nate and his tour!

We loved our hike and our guide Nate was excellent!!! We chose the caravan option starting in Fajardo, got instructions from Nate, life jackets, and entered the forest! Nate was great at explaining the plants and natural areas. He was also highly skilled and instructive on exactly how and where to walk, how to enter the water falls, and perfect guide for the experience. That water is cold! But such a fun hike!!!

Didn't know who we were meeting at the rendevu point. Would have been helpful to have description of vehicle or something. we were driving around the different parking lots trying to find our guide. We had people a little less experienced who I think could have used more help from the guide. We were advised not to bring anything? I including sunscreen, hiking shoes? we had stood in the sun a long time. the hiking shoes we had would have been better than water shoes.

We’re sorry to hear there was some confusion at the meeting point. We do send out detailed instructions ahead of time, including the exact location and guide contact information, but we’ll take your feedback into account and look at ways to make the meetup even clearer and smoother for future guests.
In regard to what to bring, we do provide a preparation list prior to the tour, including recommended footwear and essentials. For environmental reasons, we do not allow sunscreen in certain areas of the rainforest, as it can impact the natural water systems—this is part of our commitment to protecting El Yunque.
Our experience is designed to be adaptable, and guides are there to support guests of different comfort levels throughout the tour. That said, we’ll continue working on improving communication to better set expectations for all participants.

This tour was unbelievably awesome! More than we ever could have expected. Our guide Sebas picked us up as we had arranged transportation on top of the tour, and from that moment on we were engaged and impressed. He kept us safe while pushing us a bit out of our comfort zones and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My husband and I (ages 71 and 65) along with our 30 something adult children and their +ones had a blast, hiking, climbing, sliding down, water slides, cliff jumping, and using the rope swing. The watersfalls were beautiful and so powerful! Highly recommend as a nature filled day trip from San Juan!

We had a great time with our guide, Nelson. He gave us a few facts along the way but focused on fun in the forest which is just what we wanted! This trip isn't for anyone who's not okay with 1-2 ft mud stairs and climbing in water. The fact that he took pictures and videos so we didn't have to worry about it was an extra bonus!

This was an amazing experience. The natural slides, jumping into the pools, and climbing the rocks were things we never thought we’d do, and we had so much fun doing them. All the credit goes to Ivan, our guide, who made everything feel easy and enjoyable with his helpful tips and encouragement. After surviving our bioluminescent bay tour experience (keyword surviving) our expectations were meh for the Rainforest Adventure. Little did we know that God had a plan to redeem us by sending an Angel known locally as “Nate the Great” or “Nate Dawg”!
Why is Nate SO GREAT? Well let me tell you why…
1. Nate communicated the details of our excursion in a timely and clear manner. His instructions let us know what to wear, where to meet, timing, and what was going to happen. His great communication skills continued throughout the tour and luckily for us, even after at dinner.
2. Nate is super knowledgeable and a great teacher. We are not plant people (wife probably is), but Nate had us interested and learning about the flora and the fauna of the rainforest throughout our adventure. From the Bread Fruit trees, fainting plant, blue fern, to the wild pigs and the rainforest snails, we learned a ton. It was awesome to have a great teacher explain in depth the fascinating ecology of the rainforest.
3. Nate is patient. Our group never felt rushed, and more importantly it was apparent that Nate himself was not rushing. Nothing can kill a tour vibe more than feeling like you are speeding through the experience, and that was never a thought in our heads. Nate was smooth in his transitions from teacher to technical climbing guide telling us when to pick up the pace and when to slow down and chill. His pacing was perfect!
4. Nate is SAFE! This tour area of the rainforest is WET! Everything is slick and dangerous. You definitely want to make sure you do this tour with someone who is patient and focuses on safety. With Nate you are like Allstate-In Good Hands! Nate took the time to carefully explain every obstacle we encountered. First he would tell us the foot and hand placement, then he would demonstrate it for us, and finally he would watch and help us execute insuring that our traverse was smooth and safe. Nate was also aware of the safety of others. We witnessed Nate coach members of other tours that were doing unsafe things away from their tour guide. He helped some small children climb over some trees and made sure an old man did not slip on the rocks. We never felt like we were in an unsafe situation, but we did see others that were not safe because their tour guide could not keep an eye on everyone due to the large group size. We even saw people slip and fall and get yelled at by their guide-no bueno. If safety is important as it should be…Nate is your guy!
5. Nate’s tour is intimate! As you might expect, because of all of the above, Nate’s tour experience is intimate. It’s like getting a private tour of the rainforest even though you are in a small group. Nate took photos, provided water, helped carry items, etc. More importantly he took the time to get to know the people in his tour. One of our group got stranded by her Uber on the way to the meetup, and Nate went to rescue her and brought her to the tour start point. Other tour guides might have left her as a “no-show”-Not Nate. At the end of the tour Nate asked if we all wanted to go eat dinner at a local eatery, and of course we all went. Nate is now a friend, and believe me, I don’t take in too many friends.
6. Nate is an athlete and entertainer! At every stop of the way Nate was doing something that was entertaining and super extreme. At the washing machine slide he did a flip off a cliff into the deep pool that scared us because we weren’t expecting it. His dive off the 20 foot cliff with a twist and flip as amazing. At the rope swing we looked up and he was damn near in the top of the tree when he took off and launched himself in the air to do a triple back flip into the deep pool. Everyone watching was cheering and clapping for our guide, Nate! It’s kind of cool when your guide is a bad &ss!
You have many choices when you do tours, but most of the time you do not know who will be your tour provider. If you want to have the best rainforest adventure take the time to SEEK OUT Nate Rolon and Oasis Island Adventures. I promise that you will not be disappointed because NATE IS GREAT!!!

Informative and fun experience. Nate and Tara were our guides and they made sure we were safe and able to keep up. We learned about the plants and people and history of El Yunque. Followed by going through a thrilling waterslide, cliff jump, and rope swing. Nate is a fantastic guide! You have to see his athletic skills on the tour!

My friends and I had an incredible experience with Nate! The tour was informative, breathtaking, and felt completely safe from start to finish. Nate was very attentive to each of our experience levels and offered great tips for navigating the rainforest. He and his trainees were motivating and encouraging, helping everyone embrace the adventure.
The hike through El Yunque was a moderate-to-advanced challenge — expect plenty of mud, stream crossings, and even moments of being fully submerged in water! We also had the thrilling opportunity to jump from cliffs into the water.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a fun, challenging, and truly adventurous day in Puerto Rico!

bring an extra change of clothes and shoes and be ready to CLIMB. Sebas was the best, kept us together and wouldn’t let us be scared, kept reminding us to really take it all in. he knew El Yunque like the back of his hand so that also made us feel super safe. we had a smaller group which i loved!

Really fun hike. Harder than expected. Knee deep in water at times. Attentive tour guide that has to balance the slow ones and active members of group. The only problem is the lack of pictures. I did the Tarzan jump and there was no video of that. But there was videos of the waterslide ,that I didn't participate in.That really missed the mark. Not many one on one pictures for families.
Even pictures of the environment would have been nice. Busy hike, lots of groups in the watering holes. But it's hard to know what to expect. Overall I say go in open-ended. You won't be disappointed in the experience. Hopefully hosts can correct the lack of pictures and take this experience to th next level.

Our El Yunque rainforest tour was absolutely unforgettable! From scenic views to refreshing waterfalls, what made it truly special was our amazing guide, super knowledgeable, fun, and totally tuned in to our pace. Nate and Eika were the absolute best tour guides! Knowledgable, friendly, and so helpful. Wish we were staying longer and could use more Oasis Island Adventure services. There are a lot of options for tours out there, but this one is more than worth it!
