This private day tour is a must. Our tour guide, Brian, was the best. A very helpful and informative person. He had a great personality and tailored the tour to fit our tastes. It was a delightful day. We saw so many great sites in Edinburgh. But also had time to eat pur lunch in a nice green park.

Cruise ship cancelled...

Cruise ship cancelled port disembark due to safety concerns but Viator won't cancel my booking or issue any refund. Zero refund and NO future booking compensation were offered. My friends and I are OUT $1285 dollars. Very disappointing and we would not use this company again!! Will definitely share our experience with our friends and followers in our social media.

Good Day Julia, as our original reply we are sorry that your ships captain decided not to dock and tender to Edinburgh. These situations are must be very frustrating especially when on vacation. Your Driver/Guide was dispatched and on time for your collection, the weather was fine in Edinburgh and we were looking forward to showing you our capital city. As a traveller you are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate travel insurance in place, those enjoying a cruise vacation should also make sure they have the correct level of cover as normal travel insurance does not cover cruise vacations. Looks like on this occasion you have not got the correct cover in place, cruise vacation insurance will cover you for missed ports and excursions due to not docking. Our team were ready and waiting to complete the tour, with the notice of less than an hour we would not be able to take another booking. Our driver would need to be paid along with other incurred costs. We can sympathise with the missed port but to leave a poor review having not used our service is pretty low, especially as the issue was nothing to do with our performance. If you had taken the correct level of travel insurance you would not have an issue. The threat of sharing your experience is something we feel you should do, it will highlight that travelling without checking your insurance can be costly! We will not be bullied by the threats, Braveheart is a great example of that. We have a lovely list of reviews from travellers that have very much enjoyed the tour, we will let our potential clients decide from all of our reviews if exploring Edinburgh and Scotland is worth it with Aura Journeys. There were two Viking ships in two different ports. Our driver was waiting at the wrong port. Apparently, he was not given the proper information. He eventually picked us up 20 minutes later, so it wasn’t a big deal. Our driver was very nice and professional, however, we expected more of a tour guide than a driver with occasional information. He could have given us more historical and landmark info without us asking questions. He did, however, answer all our questions.

Bryan was amazing! Funny, smart and knowledgeable. Adjusted itinerary to meet our needs and interests. Our daughter had injured her leg on a previous excursion and Bryan did everything he could to make her traveling easier, including driving right up to the entrances of various locations. Bryan is an animal lover and actually took us to meet his dog at the end of the tour. Thrilled our daughter and made her day. Highly recommend these people for a tour. Prompt, professional and just plain awesome!!!

Edinburgh Castle & the City Tour

Murray, our driver from Aura Journeys was wonderfully flexible in giving our group of 6 adults choices about what we wanted to see while in Edinburgh. Our first choice was the magnificent Castle which we were able to tour first with pre-ordered, timed tickets. Murray then took us to an area with several restaurants for our lunch. We saw the Royal Mile, then split up as the women shopped and the men visited the Royal Yacht Britainia. Edinburgh left us wanting to return another day as there is so much to see.
