    Buyer Beware

    Gail_M, Aug 2025
The excursion was advertised as a trip to Saona and Palmilla with a lobster lunch buffet. However, the listing also stated “no food on island,” which created confusion. We assumed the buffet would be served on the island. In reality, there was no food available on either island, even when we offered to pay. Our first stop was Saona, where we were told we would have lunch, but the beach was covered in seaweed and appeared closed. No food was available. We were then told we would return to Palmilla for lunch, but again, nothing was available. The crew eventually flagged down fishermen selling fish and lobster out of grocery bags, and we had to negotiate prices ourselves. The crew prepared the seafood, which was delicious, but this was purely by chance. Had the fishermen not been there, we would have had no lunch at all. For an eight-hour boat excursion, lunch should be included or at least available for purchase—and if not, guests should be clearly advised to bring their own food. On a positive note, the stop at Palmilla was beautiful, and the crew was friendly and worked hard to make the trip enjoyable. That said, the misleading itinerary—which promised a lobster lunch buffet that never materialized—and the wasted time traveling to a closed Saona Island left us disappointed. Overall, I would not recommend this tour. If you do go, bring enough food and drinks for your group for the entire day.

    Great boat experience!

We had a great experience on the boat! The pre-contact was easy and always available. They were flexible in accommodating to our schedule. The crew was very friendly and tried to cater to our every need. I would definitely recommend them and or book them again!
