Pickup for Cruise Passengers: We serve visitors arriving at the two main cruise ports of Puerto Plata: a) Puerto Taino Bay (Puerto Plata Center): Location: This port is conveniently located very close to the center of Puerto Plata (just 5-10 minutes by car from the central area and about 20-30 minutes away from some more remote hotel areas). Some city tours can even be started on foot if the excursion is exclusively central. For tours to Sosúa or the Blue Lagoon, the journey will be longer (see Amber Cove for similar estimates). b) Amber Cove (Maimón): Location: Amber Cove is located in Maimón Bay, about 15-25 minutes by car from the center of Puerto Plata and about 30-40 minutes from Sosúa. Considerations: Due to the distance from Amber Cove to downtown Puerto Plata (and further to Sosúa), it is crucial to take travel times into account when planning your tour schedule. For example: To Puerto Plata center: Approximately 15-25 minutes. To Sosúa: Approximately 30-40 minutes. To Blue Lagoon (near Gaspar Hernández/Río San Juan): The drive will be longer, approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes from Amber Cove.
