Tour company would not respond to our messages or calls for weeks, we showed up in person & they tell us “ugh we don’t have room for you guys”. Viator tries to call them & they hang up on them each time so I pass my phone over. They were annoyed we were upset. Later that night they inform us we can go two days later, so we rebook other tours and hotels to different dates that were no refundable $. We arrive for our train & find out nope they’re not taking our overnight bag and actually we have to hike the whole thing with it (the worst communication of my life), we all had to ration our water all day. Our train ride there and back nobody was next to each other or even in the same car. We paid for ALL of our meals even though they say Included. The icing on the cake was end of day 1 we’re told to get cash out and get a ticket for the Machu Picchu lottery for the next day because SURPRISE we don’t actually have tickets! So wasted hours doing that when we thought we spent $600 to avoid doing or worrying about anything like that. The extra sweet ending was our last day in Peru another Viator excursion we booked we were stranded on because it was overbooked and got to do nothing for hours :) they have been zero help and sided with the company even when asking for a partial refund to cover all the costs we had to cover for the overbooking, changes and lack of services covered we paid for. Avoid them.

Despite the situation, we worked quickly to offer you an alternative date and reorganized your trek under short notice to ensure you could still enjoy the experience. We regret that some logistical aspects, such as luggage, meals, and seating arrangements, did not meet your expectations, and we will review this with our team to improve. Regarding the Machu Picchu tickets, we follow government procedures, and every effort is made to secure permits on time. However, any delay in providing personal details can impact the process, and we always recommend confirming this well in advance. On the other hand, you tried to cheat us with Inca Trail and Machu Picchu tickets. Fantastic trip. Mauro was a fantastic guide who explained the tour and answered any questions very well. First day hiking the Inca trail and second day visiting Machu Picchu. Overnight hotel was very good.
