This was the highlight of our trip! From exploring the caves from our kayaks to swimming in the sea it was all such a wonderful experience. Gabriel was an amazing guide and really ensured our family enjoyed this tour. I can’t speak highly enough of this tour!!

The kayaking trip was a fun little excursion to via two Cinque Terre towns from the water. Our guide, Diego, provided a great commentary and detail on life in the towns. We also got to explore a sea cave and swim for a while in the sea.

Really fun and a chance to escape the crowds. My husband forgot his swimming suit & water shoes in a blue plastic bag after changing at the end 😞 and plans to come back and pick them up tomorrow 😎. Susan Miller, North Vancouver , BC.

Clavio our guide was informative, fun, adventurous and we had a great time. 2 hours of sea kayaking is not for everyone- we doubled up instead of 5 single kayaks. Sore back for my husband who has regular back issues - so be ready to work out!! :)

My sister in law and I had an amazing experience! We loved this kayak tour. We kayaked, snorkled, swam, cliff jumped, and learned about the beautiful villages. It wasn't too difficult to kayak the sea although at times it was a little challenging with the waves.

It was okay - we had to walk into a little cavern via a pipe/stony bottomed shore to get into the kayaks, everyone in the group had doubles, which are more stable.
We went to a cave that you can see from the top vista of Riomaggiore, about a 10 min row away, it was very dark with some 'teeth' like shapes in the 'roof'. The offer to swim into the complete darkness to a beach was not appealing to anyone in the group!
We then had two options, to row to Manarola for a view from the sea or to go more wild and paddle through a canyon. Nobody wanted to voice a selection and although one guide had said we could split the group to do both, we all ended up being taken to the canyon, but it was too choppy to go through it.
We then paddled back towards Riomaggiore to go into a small 'beach' area to pull up the kayaks and stand around for 15 mins. It wasn't a beach, but there was a small rockpool with plantation and small fish. Found this part a little dull.
Then back to Riomaggiore (we were practically already there), for photos and that was it! Didn't feel like in two hours we saw anything and we only paddled probably 400m max away from Riomaggiore.
I think all-in-all at the £78 per person price, we would have been better hiring our own kayak and having the option to go where we wanted.
I will add that I gave the 3 stars for the guides, who were very chatty and nice, it was still an ok activity for some exercise and meeting other tourists (French and American), just not worth that. Had it been £40/45 a person, I could have given it 4 stars.

First off, we are so sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour!
This kayak tour lasts 1.5 hours and is a physical activity, so as stated on the listing, you can only see two towns - Riomaggiore and Manarola. If we went any further, the tour will need to be longer and will be too tiring for most guests.
Please keep in mind that we get guests of different experience levels (from none to tons!) so we also have to keep the tour at a level that everyone can enjoy and keep up.
And yes, going into the caves does depend on the sea conditions. If it's calm seas, the kayaks can easily go in and explore, but if it's choppy, unfortunately, the kayaks do get damaged as they'll be banging all the way through.
By "small beach area" in Riomaggiore, did you mean the Macrexia? It's a natural pool with crystal clear waters - it's where the locals typically go there as its only accessible by sea and it's absolutely stunning. I'm sorry you were disappointed there as well.
Of course you can also independently rent kayaks on your own through us, but even after explaining how to get to the caves and secluded beaches, some guests come back not being able to find them, which is why they prefer to go out with our guys.
