This walking tour was the perfect way to experience the heart of Catania. From the moment we met Simona, our passionate and knowledgeable guide, it was clear we were in for something special. Her love for the city shines through in every story she tells—especially the local legends like St. Agata, which added a rich layer of meaning to the sites we visited.
We explored iconic landmarks like the Duomo and the serene Bellini Gardens, all at a relaxed, easy pace that allowed for great conversation and plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere. The traditional food samples were a lovely touch and gave us a real taste of Sicilian culture.
The tour lasted just over three hours and felt perfectly timed—not rushed, not too slow. Simona’s insights and warmth made it feel like we were walking with a friend who knows every corner of the city.
Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Catania. Wear comfy shoes, bring your curiosity, and prepare to fall in love with the city.

We were the only 2 in this excursion and it was amazing! Simona was so very kind, informative and knowledgeable. It was wonderful having her take us around to places where she grew up. Afterwords, we sat and talked, and had wine like we were long lost friends catching up. Highly recommend!

Simona was an excellent guide. She brought us to five different small restaurants for delicious small bites. She also taught us just enough about local cuisine, traditions, and culture. The tour had a nice pace which made it very easy for strolling through the city.
Our Walking Through Catania tour with Simona was easily the highlight of our cruise, which included nine different excursions.
Simona gave us a wonderful introduction to Catania and Sicilian culture as she guided us through the local food market, where we saw an incredible variety of fresh produce and seafood, including swordfish and mussels. Along the way, she shared stories about the history, traditions, and people of Sicily and Catania that really brought the city to life.
And, of course, there was plenty to taste! Simona treated us to authentic Sicilian specialties including granita, cipollina, cannoli, wine, and samples from small local shops where she personally knows the owners. Everything felt genuine, local, and far removed from a typical tourist experience. Her translations were invaluable and helped us understand not only what we were tasting, but also the culture behind it.
Simona is a genuinely warm and personable guide who clearly loves Catania and enjoys sharing it with visitors. We saw many of the city’s sights, tasted wonderful food and wine, and came away with a much better appreciation for Sicilian life and history.
Highly recommended! If you’re looking for an authentic, personal, and delicious way to experience Catania, this is the tour to take. Simona was the highlight of our entire cruise.

Our guide, Simona, was lovely! She was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area, the history, and the food. She made sure everyone was taken care of at the food stops and the food was plentiful and delicious. I’d love to return to Catania to experience more thanks to this tour.
Simona provided a nice balance of showing us the highlights of the city while introducing us to delicacies especially from Catania. The quality of the food places she selected was outstanding with huge portions. The walking pace was perfect for our group. Catania is a beautiful city and I'm glad we were able to see it with Simona.
We had a great experience with Simone and Alejandro! The tour was about three hours long with lots of information about Sicilian culture and the City of Catania. We got to try lots of different food and drinks which were so delicious and fresh tasting. The history of Catania/Sicily is so interesting.
We really enjoyed this small group tour with Simona. You can tell she loves Catania and wanted us to love it too. We walked around, didn't feel too rushed, and tried lots of local foods/treats. Simona offered us a basic insight into Catania life letting us try lots of different foods and giving us an orientation of the city. It was a gentle pace and would suit first time guest to Catania. Not heavy on history or too much information.
This tour was not what I expected, it was more eating than walking .... I would have liked more walking and less eating. Howeve,r the local food was very good and by the end of the evening sufficient and no need for dinner.

This tour was amazing. Simona is a wonderful guide, I got to learn a lot more about Catania besides just the food. It was very relaxing and of course the food was amazing. Thank you for the experience.
We met at the Elephant Fountain which was close to the cruise port, so it was a short walk for us. Once you got to the fountain, you were met by the tour guide. She was very knowledgeable as she was a local from Canatia. The tour took us to places we would have never gone and gave us a chance to eat food from within the city, which we would have never thought of trying. There was a lot of walking, but it was totally worth it. Lots of little shops and restaurants. Great tour, nice guide!
