Our tour meets at Bo Kaap Deli. It is situated on the corner of Rose and Church Street. Our group will be ready to go promptly at 12:00pm, so please do let us know if you happen to be running a couple of minutes late.

- When booking, please note any dietary restrictions or allergies, as our guides arrange the food in advance to ensure you don't miss out on any dishes. We can accommodate vegetarian and gluten friendly diets, as well as restrictions for seafood, shellfish, and pork. However, please be aware that we cannot guarantee that any tasting will be 100% free of allergens.
- Dress code is comfortable, including comfortable walking shoes. Weather changes fast in Cape Town so please come prepared as we will be outside.
- Tours run rain or shine; however, in cases of extreme weather, your guide will reach out to inform you of any changes or cancellations.
- A moderate amount of walking is involved, approximately 1.7 Km.
- Unfortunately the tour route includes stairs, and is therefore not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
- Cape Town has paid street parking available. We do recommend making use of Uber or Hotel provided services. We do not finish the tour where we start from.
- Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult and any kids over the age of 2 require a regular ticket to attend.
- Guests under 18 years old will be served alternate drinks where alcohol would have otherwise been offered.
- Tickets are non-refundable, they are however exchangeable/transferable with a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to tour commencing. Within 24 hours, tickets are 100% non refundable and non-exchangeable for any reason.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

Taking this tour on our first day was the absolute perfect introduction to Cape Town. The food was not only amazing and abundant, but all four stops along the way were unique and memorable. Our guide, Olivia, was exceptional—helpful, kind, and deeply knowledgeable—making the entire experience feel effortless and fun. The little extras, like the Cape Malay spice gift, digital recipes, group photos, and a detailed follow-up email recap, made it feel so personal. I would definitely recommend this to any first-time visitor!

Excellent food tour, even included a wine shop stop where I was introduced to a Chardonnay that I liked (I’m not a white wine drinker)
Justin did a great job with history of South Africa and the neighborhoods we were in. He is knowledgeable, relatable, professional but fun. Hood passion about the food culture in Cape Town shows
Walking is easy and minimal. The variety was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Got to try some new to me game meat (both very good) and some dishes with spices ( not hot)

This tour was SO FUN! Justin was incredibly knowledgeable and really gave you a sense of the heart of capetown and deep history. We signed up for another tour the following day with him because his story telling about the history of capetown was very captivating. The places we went to had delicious and culturally significant food as well. We would totally recommend this trip to everyone!

Excellent walking tour of downtown Capetown stopping at 4 places to eat local cuisine. Some were old historic places while others were newer but each had authentic local dishes.

Very informative and interesting. Our guide was very friendly and attentive. The four venues we visited were all excellent and the food very interesting. Particularly enjoyed the wine tasting.

What a great way to spend 4hrs. Walking the vibrant streets of Cape Town and trying and drinking local foods and wines. Olivia our guide was absolutely lovely, we ended up being her only guests and we had a great time talking local cuisine, local history and anything else that popped up. The 4 locations we visited each offered something different and unique to the area. Home made dessert eaten for breakfast or anytime, cheese and local wine, African game dishes with delicious sides and a great sports bar helping local firefighters. Visiting the vibrant Ba Kaap with it's colourful homes and local artists, just an all round great day. Thank you Olivia for your friendly company and knowledge.

This was a great, authentic South African food tour. Olivia was a wonderful guide providing a lot of interesting information on both the foods, the locations and the history of the area. It I had one complaint, it would be that there was too much food. We went to 4 different locations, each with its own unique vibe and food. We had one person in our group who was lactose intolerant and Victoria made sure that she had appropriate food at each stop. We tried several new foods and wines we had not had before. We walked through Bo- Kaap neighborhood and learned its history. The restaurants we visited were not your usual tourist joints, but local restaurants - without the tourists. Victoria even recommended some other restaurants that we could try. We had dinner at one- that was really delicious. This is a must do in Cape Town if you are into food tours.

We were very fortunate to have Justin as our host on this 4 hour history and food tour. This tour is great for a first time visitor to Cape Town and, honestly, a great tour for locals. Justin is not only passionate about food, but has an excellent way of weaving Cape Town history into the various bars and restaurants we visited. Justin is smart, friendly, engaging, and familiar with “Bush Culture” which is interesting on its own. Surprisingly, he is familiar with multiple indigenous languages, speaking names and places with authentic, nuanced “click” pronunciation.
Our tour began in the Bo Kaap neighborhood where we tasted local beer and some African must-try foods. We learned about how they came here and have morphed over time. The multiple locations each had history and great food.
This was a fantastic tour to taste and learn about Cape Town food and history. It was a good value and I highly recommend it.

This was a wonderful experience. The establishments visited were great, the food, drinks and wine tasted were all great. There was a spectrum of taste experiences - all worthwhile.
