This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thomas was one of the best guides you could hope for. Very warm, friendly, punctual, and super knowledgeable about South Africa's history and its diverse culture. You could really tell that he was focused on making sure that his guests have the best experience possible by tailoring everything to their needs!! We visited several gorgeous estates across both towns, each with its own character and charm. The wines were outstanding and the views were incredible.

Long day .beautiful scenery but expected walk round 2 towns on itinerry never did ! plus when started told 1st stop eat at 1030am .we asked change as only had breakfast and was luckily changed ! Beautiful scenery but some on trip preferred red wine and most tastings rise or white ..had couple awful whites ! But on whole enjoyed trip just be prepared not lot wine choices ..

Regarding the timing of the first stop, we often have to schedule tastings and pairings according to the strict booking slots provided by the wine estates, which can sometimes result in an early start. However, we are very glad that our guide was able to listen to your concerns and successfully rearrange the schedule to better suit your needs—we always strive to be as flexible as possible for our guests.
We also take note of your comments regarding the town walks. Our itinerary usually includes time to explore the charm of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, and we apologize if the timing on this specific day didn't allow for the strolls you were expecting. We will review this with our operations team to ensure we are balancing the travel time and stops effectively.
As for the wine selection, the tasting "flights" are typically curated by the individual wine estates to showcase their specific specialties. While we don't always have direct control over the specific varietals they pour, we do appreciate your feedback regarding the balance of red versus white wines. We will certainly share this with our partner farms to help them improve the variety for future visitors.

Over ambitious agenda which couldn't be accomplished. Itinery promised 30 minutes walk in both Franshoek and Stellenbosh plus 4 wine tastings. Got the latter but simply drove through Franshoek without stopping and bypassed Stellenbosh centre entirely. These towns were an important part of what we booked to see so felt it was poor value for money

I’m pleased to hear that you did receive the four wine tastings that were included in the tour; however, I’m truly sorry that the rest of the experience did not match what was advertised or expected – especially regarding your time in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
You are absolutely right:
The itinerary clearly promises approximately 30 minutes of free time in both Franschhoek and Stellenbosch for guests to walk, explore, and enjoy the historic town centres.
On your tour, you drove through Franschhoek without stopping and bypassed Stellenbosch centre entirely, which meant you did not experience these charming towns as advertised.
Given that Franschhoek and Stellenbosch were a key reason for booking, it is completely understandable that you felt the tour did not offer good value. This is not the standard we strive for.
This is not the experience we want our guests to have on a Cape Winelands luxury wine tour from Cape Town, and I sincerely apologise. 💔
We are taking your feedback very seriously and have already started the following internal steps:
Operational review of the itinerary to ensure the day is not over-ambitious and that the timing realistically allows for both the promised wine tastings and meaningful town stops.
Guide and driver briefing updates to emphasise that Franschhoek and Stellenbosch town walks are non-negotiable highlights, not optional extras to be dropped when the schedule becomes tight.
Implementing stronger time management guidelines so that, even in the face of traffic or delays, guests still receive the core elements of what is advertised – especially the chance to stroll through these iconic towns.
We work very hard to maintain our reputation as a trusted, local operator for Franschhoek & Stellenbosch wine tours and Cape Winelands day trips from Cape Town, and your review shows us clearly where we fell short on this occasion.

This was a pleasant trip with excellent history provided by our guide Ray, who offered insights about the culture and colonization influences of Dutch. British and recent South African hegemony. The wineries were beautiful, and countryside phenomenal with background mountains . Wine poured was generally well described , and time for questioned available. Our guide Ray was a true gentleman who cared for each member of the group. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide GB was informative and entertaining. The van was a little tight if there had been the 2 people who were supposed to be there.
The choice of vineyards was very good which is why we picked this tour. There had to be an adjustment at the end for the last vineyard which had to be changed because of timing. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience

We had a really fun time on this tour. The guide was patient and knowledgeable about the area and the vineyards we visited were well set up for tastings and in stunning settings.
There was more than enough wines to try and the lunch was very good too. We felt very safe getting a driver guide to transport us around the area and back to Cape Town after the tour, a must after this much alcohol.

Great information from our guide Reuben. Good communication re pickup, lots of history, besutiful scenery and visited some pretty wineries in a few regions. Visited a statue of nelson mandela outside one of the prisons he was in. Four people on our trip, all singles and friendly. Long day 8-5 but a great experience.

The wineries were beautiful! Rivaled any wineries state side. Our driver Reagan was great. I wish we had done this at the beginning of our Cape Town stay so we could have purchased wine to drink while we were there.

Initial communication was not good….when we booked, booking said pickup from our hotel was as 7:30am. At 7:41 am, tour operator sent an email saying it was now pickup at 8:30am. Wish we had known that ahead of time. That said, the tour, once our tour guide picked us up, was excellent. Weather was not great but our guide/driver was a good driver and took us to nice wineries with good wine. The included lunch was very good.

Great day. Driver Mark was friendly & happy to answer our many questions. We only visited 3 wineries by choice- Fairview, Delaire Graff & Delheim. We enjoyed them all, with Delaire Graff being our favourite. Had a pleasant lunch at Delheim, although Gluten Free options were limited to a salad. Wine tastings were very generous & we couldn't try all 20! Recommend as a nice day out of Cape Town, especially if weather not good for other activities.

Angelo is a super nice guy, but he was very pushy... he talked non-stop and kept forcing us into the conversation even when it was clear we were content to be quiet.
I would have preferred fewer, better wines than what was a lot of mediocre ones.

We had no idea how beautiful the wine lands near Cape Town, nor did we know how good the wines are. We had a wonderful day with our guide who told us the history, etc and that was enhanced at each stop with great tastings, background stories, etc. From small family wineries to newer modern facilities we were so impressed. It's a don't miss tour.

We ended up having a semi private tour as there were only two other women with us. The guide made the time very relaxed because there were so few of us. We had a nice tour of Cape Town before we headed out to the wine lands. Then we had enough free time to walk around in Stellenbosch as well as Franschhoek. The wineries were beautiful and the tastings lots of fun. The lunch was delicious. Our guide was very knowledgeable and he made the day quite memorable.
