The route was challenging enough to feel rewarding but perfectly manageable with good pacing. Our group reached the summit right as the light was golden, and the 360-degree views left everyone speechless. What truly made this tour exceptional was our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the mountain, the local flora, fauna, and the history of the area. He shared fascinating stories and pointed out things we would have completely missed on our own. But beyond that, he was the most caring and attentive guide I’ve ever encountered. He constantly checked on everyone’s well-being, especially those who were a bit slower or nervous on the steeper sections. His encouragement was genuine and motivating without ever feeling pushy. The standout moment for me was after we finished the hike. Even though the tour was officially over and we were back at the starting point, our guide stayed with the group until every single person had safely gotten into their ride or Uber. He personally made sure no one was left waiting alone, double-checked that everyone had water and their belongings, and even helped coordinate transport for a couple who had a minor mix-up with their pickup. That level of care and professionalism after the tour ended really impressed all of us. If you’re visiting Cape Town and considering a hike up Lion’s Head, book this tour without hesitation. What can I say about this tour? I guess it is what you imagine it would be like and at the same time, it isn’t. It’s fascinating and surprising on a number of levels. We learned so much about the history of the township and what life is like for the people there. Was worried that we might feel awkward, but we experienced nothing but kindness and warmth. Beforehand, we were worried about safety, but once in, that dissipated. You are totally safe with Mzu and Ox, the guides, who were fantastic. My ten year old made friends and wants to go back!

We booked the activity just at the night before and they responded quite quickly to confirm it. The whole event was well communicated and we enjoyed the process.
