Great sites, but a lot to try to squeeze into one day

AMY_O, Jan 2024
I'd never even heard of Coba, and it was the most exciting part of the trip. Beautiful wooded area with ruins of ball courts and temples close up (as opposed to those cordoned off at Tulum). We rented a bike taxi, and the driver was a wealth of interesting information. Tulum and Ceynotes were also wonderful. Our time in Playa del Carmen was cut short due to other passengers not arriving at meeting points when directed. Our bi-lingual guides switched back and forth between Spanish and English so frequently that it was really difficult to understand them - and I do understand some Spanish. In Tulum I just gave up trying to understand.

There are places that we never heard off, but when we get to know them, we can't never forget them Thank you for sharing this adventure with us

Wrong cenote

ThuanYen_N, Mar 2020
Why were we not taken to cenote dos Ojos like advertised? Why were we unnecessarily taken to a jewellery factory were clearly the purpose was to sell jewellery?

Response from Host, Apr 2020

hi my name is Miguel juarez Im sorry for this issue , we are a new administration we are going to make sure this won't happen again .

None

Lamont_W, Mar 2020
Tour guides have inconsistent instructions on meet ups, sent us to another group, and didn’t answer any of the 3 phone numbers they gave us to call when we needed to find them, essentially a rip-off.

Response from Host, Apr 2020

Hi my mane is Miguel Juarez Im sorry about this situation that happen to you , we are taking the new administration and making asure this does not happen again

4 places in one day

jkenlau, Feb 2020
My driver and my tour guide Were wonderful . We went to 4 places plus one extra gift shop . I forgot my tour guide name either is Gary or Eric . Very professional and when one of my friend is riding her bicycle in Coba , he make sure she is safe and he rode right behind her . Very responsible tour guide .

Not as described

Agnes_M, Oct 2019
So in the "what to expect" part of the description there is a 2 - 2.5 hours spending time at each location... So false!! First we arrived a Tulum, the guide at the car park told us that we have 1 hour for this attraction. Let me highlight that this ONE hour included the 10 minutes walk to the entrance from the car park and the "guide tour" so at the end we had less than 40 minutes to explore Tulum which is clearly not enough. The guide was telling us all sorts of things about the location and its history and made us standing in the sun the whole time... it was unbearable. (2 years ago when we visited Chichen Itza with another tour provider, he had the sense to explain everything in the shade so we wouldn't suffer and actually listen to what he was saying - just as a comparison that this can be done in a different way) Moving on we wen't to Coba where again we had only ONE hour to explore. Coba is a big place and the main attraction is at the very end of the road. In order to be able to get there, clime the pyramid and get back on time we had to hire a bike for additional cost. The cenote was ok but they gave us only ONE hour again. About the vehicle.... there was hardly any air conditioning in the car... however there was two tiny fan installed instead... the Air-con was working though but didn't bother to use it. It was old and uncomfortable. Most of the description is false or inaccurate. We could hardly hear or understand our guide due to the outdated equipment in the car... Also as half of the group were Spanish and half English he had to explain everything twice. 70% Spanish and maybe 30% English talk... I guess we missed half of the information! I wouldn't recommend this tour for anyone who is planning to enjoy these archaeological sites which probably everyone visits only once in their life.

Response from Host, Oct 2019

Sorry to hear our experience we will check about the air condition , the time in the site are correct it’s half of the time with the certified guide and half with the time free time to explore, about the sun compare to Chichén Itzá tulum has only 3 site of shade desafinarla it’s imposible to give all the explanation in this 3 sites.

Language barrier but Jorge' came thru

CDNazario, Sep 2019
Leisure- break from business. Spanish was predominantly spoken on the bus and I was the only one who didn't understand. I was furious until Jorge' served as my personal interpreter on the tours.

What an awful tour!

Seaside783396, Sep 2019
What a bad tour. First of all, the bus was packed full of people, it wasn't comfortable at all! Second, the information that was told..we haven't heard anything he said because we we're seated in the back and couldn't hear anything because of the sounds of the wheels/engine. Second of all, when we got out of the bus at Tulum the tour guide told us to pay for drinks..when we said we didn't want this he kept pushing untill I said he had to stop. Spanish people got a full tour at Tulum, English we're told to wait and then we we're left at the entrance and told to go by ourselves- we had just 35 minutes left to see Tulum. When we got back at our meeting spot, we've found out all the Spanish people we're allready eating across the street. The food looked awfull and we've decided not to take the risk of eating anything. Then we got to Coba, where we had 50 minutes of visiting the place. Here we got a bottle of water: only one on the entire tour in the extreme heat!!! Next stop: cenote where we left at 4:30. Then we got back to Playa del Carmen, where you can do the "shopping". No shopping at all: you stop at 6:30 at a souvenir shop that is owned by the company. When we asked how long it would take to get us back to our hotel the guide told us we would leave at 19:15, we answered we wanted to get back to our hotel. He said then you take a cab at the end of the street. We decided to take a cab, guide didn't ask us why or said goodbye. Never been treated like this. On a good note, Tulum and Coba is a must see and the driver of the company did it's best. We gave him a tip when the "boss" wasn't there!

Excursion completa guía peligroso conduciendo

Aram_M, Sep 2019
La excursión es muy completa ves un montón de puntos clave, los únicos fallos son el coche y el conductor que conducía muy mal y la organización del mismo llegaron tarde al hotel a por nosotros, no estaba nada organizado en el destino.
