Breathtaking

Katherine_L, Mar 2026
I was worried this 12 hour excursion was going to zap all of my energy but it didn’t at all. There’s plenty of traveling to each destination so there’s down time to recover. Our tour guide, Moises was super fun and silly, very knowledgeable and helpful. Tulum and Cobá were absolutely breathtaking. Lunch was delicious and the cenote was a little chilly but incredibly beautiful. I’m so glad we went and would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!

Poor communication

Shatal_R, Feb 2026
If you get sick and not able to attend the tour operator will stop communicating with you about rescheduling or refund. Me and my sister fell sick with poisoning before this happened the tour operator was messaging me back communicating really well with me. The morning of the tour is when we started feeling sick like around 3 or 4 that morning. I immediately sent a message to the operator I felt it would be best if we didn't attend because at that time we didn't know if it was a bug going around so we didn't want to take the chance of getting any else sick. The operator never responded since then I have sent several more messages still with no response. So I contacted support they replied back and I have messages to back it up and they stated that I am approved for a refund they are just waiting for the tour operator to authorize the refund and that they will let me know when everything is finalized that was on yesterday. Fast forward to today i still have not heard anything so I sent a message to both the operator and support and again the operator didn't and still have not responded but support did and they stated that I was approved for the refund but unfortunately they are unable to issue a refund because the operator will not authorize. If the operator didn't want to give a refund at least communicate with me like they was doing before I asked for a refund I plan on coming back in May we could have rescheduled or something but to ignore me is wrong and because I have a email stating I was approved for the refund I have disputed this charge with my bank.

Awesome tour

The trip was very intriguing. The only thing that I would say is during tour very little English was spoken so didn't know what was going on.

excellent small group + well- guided experience

Xing_L, Dec 2025
it is great experience with a group of 10 people. Tour guide Angel is very knowledgeable and guided our trip very well. It was a very immersive experience with small group. All places are amazing. We can go down to the front of cenote to take pictures, if we do not swim! This means a lot! ps. We don't like the food

Poorly organized.

Heather_B, Dec 2025
There is a LOT more walking in the hot sun than was described. This tour should only be done in ONE language, as so much time was wasted for everyone while the tour guide spoke in a language half the group didn't understand. It might be good for the tour operators to squish two language groups together, but it is not AT ALL good for the people paying for the tour. Badly organized, as lunch wasn't served until 3:30 p.m., then the Cenote swim immediatly afterwards. The tour should be switched around so you eat earlier and then have time to digest before going swimming. Also, giving us the water AFTER two hours in the sun was almost dangerous.

John_C, Dec 2025
The travel time to get started was a bit long, but it was well worth the 2 hour travel time. The sites were phenomenal, the weather perfect. The tour guide (Matilda) was friendly and knowledgeable. The road to/from the Cenote was a bit rough - but the trip was worth it. Excellent food at the Cenote.

Spent over two hours in the van during the morning to pickup other tourists in various locations and consolidate vans. Viator is not an independent operator; we were consolidated with other visitors from various tour outlets. Van is older, no plug outlets, and not as comfortable as other tour we took. Pickup location was conflicting. After many verification, they still pickup in the wrong location. Tour guide is bilingual.

Tulum

Valerie_D, Sep 2025
Very educational and wonderful archeological sites to see. The Cenote’ was beautiful! Mexican lunch was great. Tour guides very pleasant and informative.

Highly recommend this tour!

Kristine_M, Sep 2025
We had a great time. The tour is amazing. You get to see 2 Mayan Ruins, swim in a cenote, lunch and shaman blessing. It was a long day but so great. Our tour guides were amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable.

Cenote, mayans, history, amazing👏

T_F, May 2025
Great experience, tour guides we're great and the free water is an added bonus. Suzanne was funny and quirky and to delve into the history and mayan culture was amazing, quick easy access to each place and the mayan community with the cenote and food was excellent. So calm and the cave cenote was out of this world with crystal clear water and bats swooping! You must go on this, we were the only ones at the mayan community so it was up close and personal!

Our first and wonderful excursion in Mexico!!

Algene_U, Apr 2025
It’s very safe, very thoroughly explained the activities etc; Very informative tour guides shout out to Christian who is very thorough with each archaeological spots , also Gam who works well with Christian Thank you also to our bus driver that keep us safe in our trip overall we enjoyed our selves viewing the ancient ruins, and the Cenotes in the region. good food from the locals was very delicious!

Adrian_M, Mar 2025
Well organized, lots of amazing places, Coba is really authentic and the cenotes have an even relaxing vibes than bigger ones around Chichen Itza.

Mildred rocks! Great tour guide!

Juergen_H, Mar 2025
Despite the fact that the tour was changed at the last minute from Sunday to Tuesday (SAT Tours argument was that they didn't offer the tour on Sundays—what????), the eventual tour was very nice as it involved only four guest and a pleasant tour guide, Mildred, and a safe and courteous driver, Ricardo. We visited two archeological sites, enjoyed the included lunch, and spent time at the scheduled cenote with the opportunity to visit a second sink hole on the same property. Whatever happened to the advertised "Mayan Cultural Experience" is anyone's guess. I was picked up at 8:50 am at my hotel and returned a little before 6:00 pm, so this is not a 12 hr tour. It's fair to state that other passengers spent more bus time, so no quibbles. Mildred was an enthusiastic local guide and certainly bonded with the small group (one couple and two unrelated solo travelers). It was an enjoyable experience, and I would recommend the eventual tour operator. Ekinox Tours

It’s a full days worth of activity! I would recommend it. Or guide was very knowledgeable. Long bus rides: bring a book and snacks!

Pleasantly surprised ! Tulum and Coba together is a must

Farhana_B, Feb 2025
I really have nothing bad to say about this experience. I was nervous because I read some questionable reviews. But the trip was great. We purchased the more expensive package without playa del Carmen. pMildred our guide was wonderful We got picked up on a bus. We never got transferred to any vans. The bus was spacious and with AC We didn’t get to spend much time at Tulum because the process of taking a shuttle cart into the park takes some time. But we got to see the major sites and the sea Coba was so much fun, We had some tricycles (almost like an open rickshaw with driver) and were taken to the furthest point and Mildred was good about having the tricycle rider stop on the way back so we can see all the major architecture sites (the way there was paid for by the company, the way back was 120 pesos plus tip, but you can also walk back) Koba was also nice because it was shady while Tulum was very hot in the sun Meal was Kind of late at 3 PM But the food was delicious. Much better than the buffet we got for our Chichen Itzá trip. There was fish ! I wish I had more time to do the cenote After lunch. We were also tired and in a food coma, but given that the mariposa cenote was shallow I went in since I can’t swim. There was less people and less lines and changing and showering before going in was pretty fast I wish we were directed to see the other cenote in the area too. The Mayan village was shady and authentic The area was very nice and the shaman ceremony at the end was very nice too I never felt pressured to purchase things which I did feel in our chichen Itzá trip We got home around 7:30 after everything And got picked up from the hotel zone around 8 AM Overall, I really enjoyed it and glad I did it

The tour guide was...

Jacob, Feb 2025
The tour guide was knowledgeable and the trip ran smoothly. However, pick up and drop off from hotel was supposed to be included. This wasn’t the case and while the meeting point was relatively close by, the tour is quite long and you aren’t dropped back at the pick up point until after dark. So while getting to the meeting point in the morning was okay, it didn’t feel particularly safe returning to my hotel at night.

Tulum and Coba Tour

MaryLynne_W, Feb 2025
Excellent tour. Bring a snack because sometimes the included food is served later in the afternoon. Guide and driver were excellent and well informed.

Heather_W, Feb 2025
AMAZING tour and our guide Arturo had great energy to tell all the background history stories. The views were breathtaking and the 2 cenotes were equally impressive. The food was excellent in a very traditional way. Cannot say enough good things about this tour!

Full packed day!

Ramya_V, Feb 2025
Tulum and Coba are such fantastic places and so different. This is a gr8 2 in 1 experience. We also had a chance to visit 2 cenotes in the same location where we had lunch. The swim in the cenote is so refreshing. Lunch was excellent, lots of choices and tasted very good. Mildred our guide was good and she gave sufficient information about each site and history. The cons, due which I gave 4 stars. 1. The pickup arrangement. We were picked up from our hotel at 6.55am and we did not depart from Cancun until 8.40am. An hour and 45 minutes of picking other passengers and then sorting them between various buses is an absolute killjoy! We reached Tulum at 10.10am - no toilet stop or coffee break! Ours was a small passenger van and it was uncomfortable sitting in cramped seat for 3 hours from pick up! 2. Lunch was at 3pm, extremely late especially when you are in the bus from 7am!! But i must confess that lunch was delicious, just that the timing is very late. 3. Mayan ceremony not included even though it was part of the package.

Informative, quick stops, come prepared, fun

Laura_S, Feb 2025
We had a small van so be prepared not to use a bathroom until you arrive at Tulum. So for some it could be over 2 hours due to pick ups. It was kind of cramped and most of the day it was warm in the vehicle. They only give out 2 waters during the day-the first after Tulum so bring your own. There is no plastic allowed in Tulum so bring a metal water bottle (we wish we had known this prior). Bring snacks because lunch is not until 2pm and you walk a few miles when exploring Coba (wear good walking shoes). Mildred provided a lot of useful information but we wish she did what our other tour guide did for Chichen Itza and describe everything on the bus so we had more time to walk around and explore. This is very much a brief visit to each site. You can’t see everything in a day just due to the magnitude of the places so if you want more time, do one day in Tulum and one day in Coba to get a better feel of the places. In Coba you get to take the Mayan Uber (bicycle) which is fun. Unfortunately the bicycle guide said we would stop on our walk back at some sites but that did not happen. It would have been nice to spend a little more time learning about the culture and take more pictures. Lunch was good and the cenotes were very nice. Bring water shoes if you have them. Plenty of vegetarian options. I thought this one had a shaman healing demonstration but that never happened so they need to not say it in the morning nor in the title of the booking. Overall we still enjoyed this tour and would recommend it, it just needs a few tweaks to make it excellent.

Don't miss Coba!

Cynthia_M, Jan 2025
I chose this tour because I wanted to see Coba in addition to the Tulum ruins, and I am so glad I did! The Tulum ruins are fascinating and beautiful, overlooking the sea. Although we were a large bus-sized group, after we divided into Spanish and English speakers we could easily follow and hear our guides. Our guide, part Mayan herself, expertly described the importance of mathematics and astronomy in the ancient Mayans’ society, agriculture, and building design. She had a good sense of humor and people skills, and she switched back and forth quickly and fluently between English and Spanish. Coba is much larger in area than Tulum but with fewer portions excavated and restored, so it has MUCH less modern commercialism than Tulum or Chichen Itza. One gets more of a feeling of antiquity and mystery in the jungle, as well as a perception of how vast and complex the civilization was. The ball court at Coba is a more relatable size than the one at Chichen Itza, but the main temple at Coba actually has more steps than at Chichen Itza (people are no longer allowed to climb them, though). We enjoyed getting the chance to meet and talk with Jose, the local driver of our tricycle, and he pointed out spider monkeys in the trees above us! The negatives of this trip were relatively minor: The only pick-up spot in Tulum was at the Starbucks, so we had to find a taxi to get there and also to return to our hotel after a long, tiring day. My husband and I were the last to be picked up, and the bus was packed, so we weren’t able to sit together the entire day. The trip organizer Sat Mexico (not the tour company Ekinox) sent an email that morning with the wrong information on the US cash we needed to pay for the recently increased Tulum fees. The lunch at the Canamayte open-air cafeteria was not as tasty or unique as promised (although it was not as late for our group as some other reviewers experienced), but I appreciated the Mayan blessing ceremony and chocolate-making demonstration, and I loved the magical swim at a small cenote in a cavern. Overall, this tour was worth it for us.

Great Tulum / Coba adventure!

Jesse_R, Dec 2024
Great experience! Bus picked us up at our hotel in the hotel zone and we took off to Tulum. Tulum ruins are off the beach and were amazing experience to see. Next we were off to Coba. Coba setting was different. These ruins were buried deep in a jungle. After a long walk we got to the big temple. The tricycle ride down was a nice relaxing way down. Finally we went to a cenote to cool down after lunch. Lunch was good buffet style all you can eat. We were the only ones at the center so we had the whole place to ourselves. We had an hour to eat and an hour for the cenotes (there were two at the site). I would book again. Some tips if you book. Bring a bathing suit / towel / flops / water shoes and some singles (to tip). The guide kept telling us how poor the area / mayan people are and how they live off tourists. He'll push you to tip / buy stuff, but not too pushy he'll jus mention it.

Interesting must see but …

Albion_K, Dec 2024
The van was old and uncomfortable. The space was too tight for 6 hrs drive, bilingual tours are tiresome for all involved, an earlier start would have given us more time at each location.

Very good organized and competent Guido!

Michael_G, Nov 2024
Tulum with the cliff view, coba in the jungle, Hidden Maya town. Ande the mariposa cenote and Maya Community!

Well organized and interesting tour!

Neli_B, Nov 2024
Well organized tour for a small group visiting both Tulum and Coba, Maya archeological sites. Our guide Paco was well informed and tried his best to show us as much as he could for a limited time. Both cenotes Mariposa and Chen-Ha were also breathtaking in their own way!

Underrated

Billie_E, Nov 2024
Coba is under rated. It should be before Tulum or on it's own. This place deserves a cleansing before entering. Coba is so beautiful. It is humbling to stand in a place where others more creative than myself have imagined. It is truly magnificent.

A very nice day!

Laura_P, Oct 2024
We had a very nice day with this tour - we got picked up first (hotel location) so we had to wait quite a long time to pick up everyone else but the bus was comfortable. We first went to visit Tulum (bring sunscreen and water) Coba and then the Cenote. Amazing experience - but note lunch is quite late on the day so definitely bring snacks. We saw the itinerary and guessed a late lunch, so we had food with us, but this is the reason for the 4 starts. Plus the wait in picking everyone else up! Guides were knowledgeable and very helpful. The trip is about 12 hours long and we were provided with water and bathroom breaks. Recommended if you want a day pack of sightseeing

Wonderful Tour!

RAMANATHAN_A, Jul 2024
Tour was great and is well worth the money. The pickup details were confirmed the evening before the trip. A van came to pick us right on the assigned time and took us to a meeting point where we were transferred to another van from another tour company (Ekinox Tours). We didn't know about this change until that time. The van was clean and comfortable. The guide was great, knowledgeable, had a good sense of humor sense and kept the group together all the time. We were provided 2-3 water bottles, a fruit bar and the first stop on the itinerary was Tulum where plastic bottles are not allowed (the guide had already informed us). We spent almost an hour and a half here with an hour of guided tour and 30 mins of free time. Next was Coba where the guide already informed us of different ways to tour - walk, bicycle and driven-tricycle. The whole group chose the tricycle option and it was so much fun. Third stop was a Cenote and lunch which were okay. Similar to morning, we were taken to the midpoint and transferred to a van that took us back to the hotel. We started the day around 8am and got dropped off at 7:30pm. Overall, definitely worth the time!

Amazing tour.

Francisco_C, Jun 2024
A trip down the past. The tricycle was a relieve. Water was also wanted and needs with heat and humid temperature.

Worthwhile

Richard_M, Jun 2024
Our guides, Luis and Angel, were great. We very much enjoyed the ruins. The visit to Coba included a neat extra with the tricitaxi rides, but also seemed a bit rushed. The visit to the Mayan village/cenote for lunch and the Shaman was also enjoyable.
