Dina is the best! We chose her based on reviews from other travelers, and she certainly lived up to our expectations. We had an amazing day exploring the wonders of Luxor. Dina is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to get along with. Our transportation was clean and comfortable, and our driver was a kind gentleman. Lunch at the Banana Island restaurant was definitely worth the cost. Many misconceptions we had about traveling to Egypt were cleared up. We found that Egypt is a safe destination for Americans. It's also important to remember that it's culturally common to tip lower-waged workers.
Something I wish I knew or did different: Side trips to local shopping spots can take a long time. I wish I shortened these to save more time for exploring Luxor's ancient treasures.
Overall we had an amazing day and got to the airport just in time for a comfortable check-in. The flight was ok and we got back to Cairo in time to have some delicious street food at Al Agha which has one of the best shawarma in the city - so I'm told.

Through Viator, I booked a great Luxor Tour with same day flight transport from Cairo for my husband and I. We were picked up at our hotel right on time by Shadi, great & friendly driver!, in a clean, well kept A/C sedan & brought straight to Cairo Airport, which was easy enough to navigate. The flight was only 1 hour & 15 minutes with light snack & drink, no issues & great views of the area/Nile if you have a window seat. Expect 2 rounds of bag check through scanner, shoes off & body search. Pickup was quick by our super knowledgable Tour Guide Remon Romany & our awesome driver, Mr. Nash!!! Local Luxor sites were visited, shopping, boat ride to a lunch spot in a banana farm, as well as great pix with different backgrounds taken, assisted by Remon. He was absolutely attentive to all our needs throughout the sites, our lunch, shopping and after in the drive back to the airport. We had a great time & are super glad we booked a private tour guide instead of a large bus group, as Remon helped us navigate everything important to see, before our flight back to Cairo. It was sweltering, but we managed. ESSENTIALS: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, an UMBRELLA, an electric hand fan with neck strap, water bottle/electrolytes, light backpack, light tshirt & light capri pants & sturdy high impact sneakers /sandals (no flipflops) are a must here to be prepared & stay comfortable. Thanks so much for a wonderful time, Remon! I would recommend family & friends who can handle full day, moderate walking on uneven stone surfaces, staircases & ramps in the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatsheput, etc. Best time is before April, to avoid extreme high temp days.

Unforgettable experience!! Wife and I did the private full day tour of Luxor with Remon as our guide. Remon provided an awesome experience we will never forget. He was the perfect host, providing in depth knowledge from both his studies in Egyptology and his experience growing up in the region. We could not be happier with the comfort and expertise extended to us throughout the day on our journey through the amazing history. Karnak Temple was our favorite but all stops in the Valley of Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon were just as astonishing. The boat ride and lunch was a great addition that is recommended. Thank you Remon and his driver for memories we'll never forget!!

The whole trip was well organised and the guide was very knowledgable and helpful. Everything went smoothly and we learned a lot in a very short time. There was so much to see that we should really have opted for a 2 day tour so we could take it all in.

Most of the day was spent visiting “rest stops” that were really just con jobs to sell bootleg souvenirs (pretty sure the guides get a cut). There was barely a half day of actual tours planned and the rest of the time they were either trying to extort you for “extras” at premium prices or stop into these rest stops. Guides barely send interested in culture or the excursion itself.

This was an EXCEPTIONAL tour. Everything went seamlessly from our hotel pickup, to our flights, to meeting our guide Dina at the Luxor airport. The logistics were simple and easy to follow. There was great communication from the tour company in the days prior. We got to experience more today than we expected. Our tour guide, Dina, was exceptional. She was so friendly, attentive to our needs and wishes, and incredibly knowledgeable. If you have the chance to request Dina as your guide, I highly suggest that you do. She is a treasure for this tour company

We were hestiating between a 3 and 4 for this review so here is everything:
- The pickup went great at 4am , driver was excellent both on the way to the airport, and on the way back!
- Once in Luxor , Dina our guide was very knowledgeable and had all the information we wanted. The car was very clean and the driver would always put the shades in the back seat while we were out visiting to make sure the car is cool on return so that was great.
- Visiting Luxor was great, everything in the inclusions was there, but I wish the ticket prices also included some of the other tombs , we had to pay extra for (ex: Tutankhamun) .
Now the reason for removing some stars:
-The company owner was very pushy on WhatsApp for a month before, and even after the tour to buy more from them, Talking 20-30 messages asking us to buy more tours. It made us want to buy tours less than if he didn't try to push it as bad.
- Dina the guide was sick during the tour and was coughing a lot, and we both got sick afterwards.
- The flight back was booked at 8pm , and the tour operator guaranteed us that the tour would finish at 5pm. However, we spent all the time we wanted at every stop, and the tour finished at like 2:30pm so we had to wait near the airport for 6 hours, with no wi-fi for the flight. I am dissapointed because I asked the operator to confirm it would go until 5 but there is no way it could take that long, probably cost savings as we could have easily gotten the 16h30 flight.
- The tour operator got the wrong names on the flight tickets. It did not affect us in the end, but it was added stress that the names were not put right on our flight tickets.
- The guide will propose a place for you to lunch at which costs extra during the tour. It wasn't pushy, and we decided to get the "included" sandwhiches which were amazing. I advise you to check out the reviews on google on the place they propose as it doesn't look great, but we didn't go so cannot comment first hand. Again, the included falafel sandwhich was great, but we had water at the start of the tour, but not an additional soft drink with lunch as in the description.

We were connected with our driver promptly the day before. Raafat picked us up promptly at 4 AM, and drove us to Cairo airport.
Our private guide, Dina, also texted me the night before letting me know that she was going to be our guide for the day. She told me that she would be waiting for me right outside of the airport as soon as we got out. She is 1000% amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. On our way to our first destination, I realize that I have left my headphones in the airport bathroom. She swiftly turned around the driver and told me that it was going to be OK and we went right back to the airport and found them.
Dina made us feel safe, she was well knowledge and didn’t push anything we didn’t want to do.
She recommended we went to a more upgraded lunch area, which was well worth the few extra dollars. We got an extra tour on the Nile River!
We told her that we wanted to buy a scarf and she took us exactly to an area where local Egyptian women were making scarves. After our tour was over, we told her that we wanted to see some spices in the area and she took us to a local place. Enjoyed the spice place, however if you are going to purchase please stay vigilant to what you are being charged, and there are minimums when purchasing. I’m 100% sure the owner said $50 but ended up charging me $60 for everything I bought, no complaints because I still feel like it was worth the price, but always stay vigilant.
I cannot stop saying praises about our tour guide. Please ask for Dina, you won’t regret it.

This tour had it all and was amazing! From the prompt drivers, to the extremely knowledgeable and personable Egyptologist (Remon), to the surprise visit to Banana Island via the fun local ferry for a fantastic lunch, and of course, the jaw-dropping Karnak temple, and the tombs at the Valley of the Kings. It was all first class, and top shelf from start to finish. Remon’s deep knowledge and understanding of all things Egyptian made the tour all the more enjoyable, interesting and highly engaging. We learned SO MUCH! So stop looking and book this tour if you want to visit Luxor (and believe me you do!). You won’t be disappointed. ALSO, my wife loved the amount of shopping she was able to do in Luxor in addition to the fantastic temples — silk scarves, cardamom, lotus flower oil and even some jewelry. Win-win.

We booked our tour with Hesham he booked our flights and arranged our pick ups, tour, and drop offs for our entire day at Luxor leaving Cairo. Our flight was at 7am and Hesham arranged a pick up at 5am Andrew picked us up and he was on time extremely friendly talked to us on the way to the airport and helped make the drive comfortable. We arrived with plenty of time and no rush. We arrived at Luxor and Remon a qualified Egyptologist along with the driver were there on time to greet us. Our tour was exactly as described in the Viator booking. Remon is EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE and he is kind and will accommodate according to your needs during your tour. For example our flight was not until 9pm and he had suggested many options for us to do to help with our extended hours of stay. We ate at Aladdin’s banana island and took a boat over which I highly recommend if you have extra time. Luxor is a magical place and it is a must see, if you decide to go book with Hesham. We arrived back in Cairo at 10:15pm and Andrew was back to pick us up on time and drop us off. Overall it was a very smooth day no issues and we did not feel rushed. Remon will make you feel welcomed and help you appreciate the beauty and history of Luxor and why it is so important to visit. My husband and I will definitely be visiting Luxor again with much more time and we will be booking through Hesham and his team! We had a knowledgeable Egyptologist, Remon, who was friendly and flexible. He showed us what we wanted and skipped sales stops we were not interested in.
I wish the flights were booked better as we didn’t return to Cairo until midnight and there were earlier flights.

The history of the area was AMAZING! Our tour guide Deena did a good job of explaining things although she did get a bit tired towards the end of the day (it was very hot!) and was on her phone more often than we would have liked. But we would highly recommend spending a day in Luxor to round out the Egyptian history!

I was only in Egypt for four nights and am so glad I decided to add this whirlwind tour onto my itinerary. Luxor was a welcome change from the bustle of Cairo, and it would have been a shame to miss all that it has to offer. Despite traveling solo, I agreed to share the tour with two other people on my same flight. It was actually nice to have the company as we tried to keep up with our high-paced, energetic tour guide, Maret! We packed so much into the day and found Maret's insights and knowledge of the sites and culture invaluable. We ended up choosing to take a boat ride to banana island for a delicious meal for an extra $25 per person. While I am glad that we chose this option, it seems like something that should have been included in the price of the tour. Also, I found out that the other couple with me each paid $205 less than I did for the tour, which is a bit annoying!

Dina was a fantastic tour guide. She was knowledgeable, was fluent in English, and showed us a great time. Our driver was great too. If you only have a day in Luxor, we highly recommend this tour. Private van, you get a whole day of activities, and the option to upgrade your lunch with a ride on the Nile to an off-the-beaten path restaurant with great local cuisine. If you book from Cairo I recommend booking your own plane tickets, the tour operator arranged for our transfer to and from the airport in Cairo, where we were staying, and we paid a lot less than you’d pay if you book the tour option with flights included. The whole tour was well worth the price!

Michael, the tour guide and George the driver are an absolute gem! They made the entire trip enjoyable, informative, relaxing and worry-free. From the get go, the pickup and communication is smooth, and Michael is very upfront with the plans - the itinerary, the duration, distance and time of travel, and gives you room to prep yourself of what’s to come. The most commendable part is, he knows what are the timing of the tourist crowd and he plans accordingly to give you the best comfort (example : visit to the outdoor Queen Hatshepsut temple early in the morning, when the crow picks up, we visited valley of the kings because it’s warmer and we’re underground viewing the tombs anyways. And then Luxor temple when the guests has left back for their day tour from their cruise). I got the best timing with the least crowd! And he suggested to upgrade to a nicer lunch, took a nice boat ride too which was worth every penny. We finished rather early and he also suggested a number of other places to visit. Not to mention the driver was also very prompt in the pickup between locations, car was quite the VIP one =) all in all it’s definitely a recommend, and for those who are looking for a worry-free trip, just go for Michael!

Although we started early a day after arriving in Egypt, deciding to get up early to fly to Luxor for this tour ended up being a great idea! From the time we were picked up at our hotel in Cairo to the end of the day drop off back at our hotel, we had a great time and our guides and drivers were all excellent. Hossam, our guide in Luxor was outstanding and I would request him again for any tour in Luxor. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and spoke very good English. He even took the time to take us to a special restaurant on the island via a private boat. Wasn’t on the original itinerary, but added another special event to our day tour. Thanks again for a special day!
