It was a great way to visit different parts of Cairo in comfort. We decided on our itinerary and the driver (Mohammed) dropped us off and then waited until we were ready to leave, so no time constraints on our visits. No Show and Ruined My Birthday

Booked this the day of my birthday and I was in Egypt solo. I had a whole itinerary and activities booked and paid for for the whole day. A few minutes before the scheduled time I messaged the operator about what kind of vehicle they would arrive in so I could walk outside the lobby. I sat for thirty minutes waiting with no response and every driver that pulled up to the hotel turned out to be taxis or other people's Ubers. I tried to reach out to Viator but couldn't get to a phone number and was only prompted to fill out a form. The app wasn't working properly and I wasn't able to contact them until I left. The driver never showed up and if they did it was well after an hour later and I had already called an Uber to try to start making it to my activities that were already booked and paid for. I missed out on money and doing certain things because I was late waiting on this driver. It really ruined my birthday. Wouldn't recommend! Zero communication prior to the start and no communication after. I hope they will process my refund because trying to figure it out and save face after you've planned your birthday in Egypt to the T wasn't on my bingo card. Save your time, tears, and money and book somewhere else!

I booked my 1 day tour with private car to Dashur, Saqqara & Memphis on 30 Jan. I waited outside my hotel from 0950 as the confirmed pickup time was 1000. At 10.15 I returned inside my hotel & messaged Viator. Received advice from Upper Sky Tours (local operator) that driver was on their way. Driver showed up at 1130. He advised me that he had been allocated my tour 20mins prior to arrival which contradicts the operator's advice. At 1200 we suffered a flat tyre. The vehicle was not owned by the driver. It was a company vehicle & had no spare wheel. A replacement car & driver arrived at 1240. All this wasted time forced me to rush my visits to Dashur & Saqqara to hopefully fit in Memphis but to no avail. I would strongly urge Viator to pursue some monetary compensation for the poor service that I suffered at the hands of the local operator. My day was filled with frustration and anger.

Great driver, but not the “Best and New” car as advertised

Our driver Osama was very sweet, kind, and accommodating to our itinerary, taking us all the way from downtown Cairo to First Sixth of October back through Giza and downtown out to New Cairo and lastly back to our hotel. He also pointed out landmarks along the way, offered tips at certain destinations, and helped coordinate with locals when all we had wanted was a quick photo. All compliments to him! Disappointingly, we’re knocking off a couple stars because we did find the marketing for this service ultimately misleading, as the photos advertised are not representative of the sedan that Osama was given to drive us around in. The listing here on Viator says you’ll pay for “Best and New Cars” and it shows photos that give the impression that the car will be a spacious crossover or a midsize sedan-type vehicle in that new condition promised. Instead, our car for the day was indistinguishable from small Ubers we’ve used elsewhere in the city: It was a small BYD sedan with scratches and dents all across the body and stickers and scratched tint across the windows. It didn’t at all match the standard we had expected for our money’s worth — nor did it match the comfort we anticipated, with both my husband and I being 6ft tall and requiring a more modern-sized sedan. Nevertheless, the little BYD did get the job done -- and as we said, Osama was wonderful to have with us for the day. Just be mindful of what you’re paying for when you book… If the type of sedan truly matters to you, you’d best look elsewhere or just Uber to ensure the best use of your money.

We went on an exploration tour with our fantastic driver Ahmed. No need to tell, he was on time at our hotel to fetch my husband, our friends and me. We had decided we wanted to visit the new administrative capital - my husband is a professional photographer and wanted to see this special sight. We couldn't find a fix tour so we got our "private car" and that was a wonderful decision. Ahmed was patient every time we wanted to stop somewhere to take pictures, he tried to find good places and was very supportive with several guards so we could take even better pictures. He found us a table at the food quarter and introduced us to a delicious dish called Kuscheri. We climbed the huge islamic headquarters together and visited the large new coptic church. Still it is not allowed to take pictures in a lot of places, but what we have seen we will carry in our hearts.
