ROBERT B, Mar 2017
I am a seasoned traveler with fluent Spanish. I like asking the names of drivers, and I always tip. Our driver was Dionisio nickname Dicho. On the evening tour with him I noticed these events:
Tequila tasting was mentioned in the description but Dicho did not bring it up.
He wrongly claimed that the comal was brought over by the Spanish after I said that it - and the molcajete - was used by the Aztecs.
He also said that places such as San Ignacio, San Jose, Santa Maria etc were named for rich gentry -- rather than dedicated to saints' names as designated by Jesuits - when even the church in SJ del Cabo has that information.
I still did tip generously and did not debate Don Dicho. He's probably used to saying whatever remarks without check.
Posdata: The restaurant where we dined, El Herradero means 'branding' and not 'blacksmith' as the waiter there said.
