I was contacted late the night before to change the time of the booking from 8am to 6.30am - because of Bucharest traffic. The traffic is always bad so should be early on the booking to start with. Secondly, there had been snow 2 days before, which the guide notified me of late the night before saying we would need pick axes and crampons - which would be an additional cost. They should have told me about this before the refund period cut off. I repeataly told the company I was not confident hiking in the ice, but the ignored all of my messages and still told the guide to meet at my hotel. There was so many messages to the company and the guide. No one was listening to me. They also refused to refund me even though the goals posts had changed. Really bad customer service. Very disappointed. Viator customer service were also not helpful,

Dear Julia, We are sorry to read your review, and we regret that you did not travel with us. Our agency made all the necessary arrangements for your tour well in advance, including the car rental service and the licensed mountain guide. Our guide contacted you at around 15:00, one day before departure, to inform you that it had snowed in the Ciucaș Mountains. For extra safety and comfort, we offered FREE OF CHARGE anti-slip snow chains for your hiking shoes. These anti-slip chains are different from technical crampons; they are easy to attach and are commonly used in such winter conditions. We also offered flexibility regarding the departure time. The guide initially suggested a 06:30 departure, but we later agreed and informed you that a 07:30 departure would also be possible. In addition, we explained that the Ciucaș Mountains offer several trail options, including easier routes to Ciucaș Hut. Our mountain guide was ready to discuss the conditions with you and adapt the tour according to your comfort level. On the morning of the tour, our guide waited for you in the hotel lobby from 07:30 for 30 minutes. Unfortunately, you refused to discuss the available options with him. Since the car rental and mountain guide services had already been booked and paid for, we were unable to obtain a refund from our suppliers only 10 hours before departure. The Viator cancellation policy clearly states that the tour can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before departure. We fully understand that mountain weather can be a concern, and we always put our guests’ safety first. At the same time, we did our best to operate the tour safely, offer alternatives, and communicate with you through the Viator messaging system. We are sorry that your experience ended this way, but we kindly believe that a review should reflect the full situation and the efforts made to find a fair solution.
