What are people saying about Bucharest

An outstanding historical tour of Bucharest
My girlfriend and I are visiting Romania for three weeks. She is Romanian but hasn't visited the country in over 20 years. For our first stop in Bucharest she compiled a list of landmarks to visit. We decided to do Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour to learn as much as possible about these landmark sites. Eduard, our tour guide, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Romanian history and it's centuries of changes and architectural influences by many different cultures. He was respectful of the group member's ages and diversity and made sure we were shaded from the hot sun at each stop point. My girl and I truly appreciated Ed's clarity in describing each Bucharest landmark. Thanks to Ed, we learned a lot about Romanian history and its complexity of architectural designs.

Good choice
We had a good day trip. You pay for transportation and a kind, knowledgeable guide (Alex). He tries to take care of everyone being on time, how to buy tickets for the castles (which is extra) etc. For this price you cannot complain. Yes, it was a lot of sitting in the bus, but we've seen a lot and the trip was well managed. Don't hesitate, just book it.

A brilliant day trip! Had plenty of time to go around without feeling rushed and in small group makes it even better! Serban was our guide and he was brilliant! Very knowledgeable but also very entertaining! He definitely made the trip that extra special!

A very worthwhile day trip
An excellent way to spend a day sightseeing! Our guide, Narcis, had a great command of English and provided an excellent commentary and a most enjoyable day. There were 7 of us allowing everyone to get acquainted. After crossing the Danube we spent time in Ruse, before traveling south to Veliko Tarnovo, the early Capital of Bulgaria, to visit the castle and extraordinary church, then driving up to a traditional restaurant to try the local food and sample Rakia, a local type of slivovitz. I recommend eating after the castle visit not before as the peasant food is filling, and the climb to the castle quite steep and there is a lot of walking involved! Then back into town to walk around the picturesque village and shop in the artisan stores (some are tacky but most offer quality, locally handmade goods), before going north to the border and into Romania again. An odd highlight was seeing storks on their huge nests atop telegraph poles along the road. Highly recommended!
