Walking tour round parts of Bucharest including Orbor Market Lots of beer cheese mica beer bread dips and a beer and a doughnut to finish. Feel a little more sign posting about what the overall plan was but tram ride was interesting and enough background information on how the communism regime failed I would recommend the tour although a lot of walking.

Overview

Taste your way through Bucharest’s most charming and unusual ‘mahallas,’ or neighborhoods, on a small-group food tour. Venture beyond crowded squares and Communist architecture to discover the Romanian capital’s quieter, Belle Époque quarters, where Old World elegance meets bohemian flair. Along the way, pop in to lively markets, specialty shops, and cafes to sample the best of artisan Romanian cuisine like goats-milk cheese, cured meat, bread, craft beer, and Wallachian doughnuts.
  • Explore Bucharest with a local guide from Revolution Square
  • Sip Romanian craft beer and 'tuica' brandy
  • Ride a historic tram to Obor Market like a true local
  • Small-group (or private) tour with a maximum of 12 people ensures personalized attention

Good tour

Mercia_R, Jul 2026
The positives first. Angelica is amazing . She is professional and went above and beyond to make this a great tour. I have done many food tours , this was average. I think it should be sold as a historical and food tour. They was not much food to sample.

Great intro to the city!

Jennifer_C, Jun 2026
Had a wonderful tour with Bogdam. Come with an empty stomach because there was a lot of food - and beer! Easy meet-up location on the steps of the National Theater. Everyone on my tour was from the U.S. Bogdam’s English was fantastic. Ate different types of salami, eggplant dips, olives, cheeses, bread, mici with mustard, a pretzel, cherries, a fried donut speciality. Soft drinks were available for those who didn’t want to drink beer or wine. Tried the local plum brandy shot. Visited different neighborhoods and a large fresh marketplace. Had a wonderful time and would highly recommend!

Bucharest as a Local

Marisol_D, Jun 2026
Very informative tour on the history of Bucharest and its architecture. If you want to feel like a local this is the tour for you. The food was also based on what a local would eat in Bucharest. Plus the guide was kind and knowledgeable.

A fun food trip around Bucharest

Karen_V, Jun 2026
Andrea was an excellent guide. Very informative & fun. We had a large group but she kept everything moving. Food was all very delicious.

Fantastic experience

Sam_K, Jun 2026
Andrea was an incredible guide- we were together for almost 6 hours and it flew by. She was so deeply informed and a great storyteller as we learned and ate together. I was stuffed by the end, and really enjoyed all our stops. It was worth it to get oriented to Bucharest.

Great way to experience Bucharest

Barbara_C, May 2026
We had a wonderful time on this tour … Julian was so knowledgeable on the history of Bucharest and also a lot of fun to spend the day with. We enjoyed the tour, the food, the beer and the conversation. We had a great group of 8 who got along well. We took public transportation to a really cool area of the city we would not have visited otherwise and saw a large market where the locals shop. Highly recommend!

More than we expected

Food, history, architecture, street art, communism—— all combined. It was an excellent tour. Alex was a great guide!

A Great Way to Spend a Day in Bucharest.

blkatz11, May 2026
Our guide Mahalia was wonderful. The tour started off with a walking history of the area. Once we built up an appetite we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. We then walked over to the main farmer's market and attached flea market. As we wandered around our guide bought a few items for us to share later. We then sat down, we had a beer with some great local sausage, cheese, cherries, and more. Best of all we found out that your fee for the tour goes to a non-profit that teaches school children!

It was a lot of fun! Our tour guide knew a great deal about the city and its history. The tour lasted until around 3:00 pm, but it was so enjoyable that our group decided to continue hanging out together afterwards.

Great Guide

We were able to see the food marketplace and taste a lot of the local foods. The guide spoke about the history and present day politics. Very informative

A nice food tasting tour

Robert_B, May 2026
This was a small group walking tour, apart from a short ride on a tram. It included a look at some neighbourhoods in Bucharest, explanations of those neighbourhoods, some of the architectural styles of some of the buildings seen there and most importantly food. Alex was our guide and seemed to very knowledgeable about all matters included in the tour. The food tasted, and there was a great deal of it, was apparently a taste of Romanian food eaten regularly. It included sausages, cheese, desert and salads at different venues. It also included Romanian plum brandy and beer. A visit to a market was also included. It was very interesting to taste these various foods. The tour overall was good and Alex was a very good tour guide.

Beautiful Bucharest

A Mind-Altering Experience in Bucharest!

Ed_S, Apr 2026
Bucharest's food and drink were beyond expectations. And it was our guide, Bogdan, who brought it to life! First, he shared covrigi -a popular, affordable street food snack, then sat us down on the steps of Bucharest's National Theater and set the table with a wonderful history lesson. After which we proceeded to Taste Bucharest. And indeed, it was a Food Lover's Tour of Markets & Neighbourhoods as you can see from the pics. At 5 hours, this tour was a tremendous value - a delish and delightful foodie experience complemented by Bogdan's nuanced insights.

Great balance of walking, stopping to look at architecture, food tasting, and history and personal stories of Romania by very knowledgeable Alex.

Siobhan_D, Mar 2026
I was the only one on this tour (felt like a private tour) and we walked around outside of the main city centre and I got to see another side to Bucharest. Getting to go where the locals go and taste amazing Romanian food. Elena was so informative and the vibe was great. She explained historic events and showed me pictures from the past at certain locations so I was able to really understand what it was like to live in Bucharest from many years ago to the present. The tour had a lot of food I was so full!! I enjoyed this so much and definitely recommend doing this tour when in Bucharest.

A “must-do” tour for all!!

Kathleen_R, Mar 2026
Make sure that you start this tour hungry! It’s a great variety of Romanian treats and drinks and very worth your time. Bogdan was our guide and he made us feel welcomed and ensured we learned some of the history of his country, which you can tell he loves! Thanks so much, Bogdan! Hope to see you again!!

Such a lovely afternoon!

Matthew_H, Mar 2026
I feel so bad! Haha, that’s a strange way to start a review, but it was a cold day in February, and Alex’s other two guests had cancelled, which meant that I essentially got a private tour. Alex took me to get a pretzel, a traditional breakfast (cold cuts, spreads, cheeses with bread) at a cute restaurant, more local snacks at a market, a trendy restaurant for Romanian grilled sausages (line out the door the entire time we were there), a donut to finish off, and a couple of drinks and local transport included. The whole time, Alex was telling me all about local architecture, history, and culture. I had such a good time, and Alex deserves a raise, haha. He was very attentive to my needs. Again, I feel bad he did this all for me! Highly recommend!

Great guide and food

Brian_A, Dec 2025
Great food and tour. Our guide Angelica was awesome and we were lucky enough to have a grest group of people also so it was a fun tour with lots of laughs and great food.

Great tour, delivered in a considerate and friendly style

Mark_M, Dec 2025
Angelica is a really friendly young woman who is very proud of her country and she explained so much about it and the capital city. She allowed the tour to go on much longer than advertised, which was most kind, as I was the only guest! I gained a good understanding of some of the buildings and plenty about the history of the area. The food was typical Romanian and plentiful: I even had to turn down some of it! Local sausages were great and there was the treat of a doughnut at the end.

Great tour!!

Jennifer_L, Dec 2025
The tour was both interesting and delicious. It brought us to parts of the city we never would have traveled to if not for the tour. Our guide Bogdan was knowledgeable shared Romanian history and culture information with us. Highly recommend.
