Overview

The ultimate gastronomy experience, this small-group tasting and sightseeing tour takes you to some of Rioja’s finest food and drink establishments. Absolutely a must when in, near, or some where in the vicinity of Bilbao. The journey to La Rioja was a quick drive made quicker by the fantastic information and confirmation that Irene provided. She was an incredible guide and took us to some of the most beautiful places in the area. Plus the wine was fantastic! What more can be said!

We spent a fun day with our guide learning and enjoying wine. Marina was the perfect hostess in every way. She shared her knowledge of both the wine and area in a wonderful way. Highly recommend the tour.

What a lovely day trip! It was just me and my friend, plus our guide Marina. Felt like a private tour! We were very lucky. Marina is a wonderful tour guide, warm, friendly, funny, very knowledgeable sharing facts about the different wines and regions. The two wineries were family run, you feel the care and passion in the craft. Amazing wines, nice little charcuterie plate in the first place, and really good food for lunch in the second place (pork cheeks “carrilleras” - so tender!) Lovely to have the chance to walk around the medieval walled town of La Guardia inbetween the winery tours. I had an amazing time during this whole day, highly recommend 😊

Fabulous wine tour in Rioja!

We had an excellent visit to the Rioja region, led by our fabulous tour guide Irene. She was very knowledgeable about Bilbao, the Basque region, and of course wines from Rioja. We visited two different wineries, which offered the opportunity to compare how different wineries approach the wine making process. We learnt a lot and got to see so much, including a walking tour of the town of Laguardia. We would highly recommend this tour. A must for any wine lovers!

Our guide Marina was welcoming, upbeat and very knowledgeable. The day was well organised with plenty of time for photos. We learnt a lot about the region, the wines and enjoyed a beautiful lunch. Highly recommend.

Marina was our incredible tour guide. She is extensively knowledgeable in Basque history and she thoroughly educated us on our drive to Rioja and throughout the entire trip. The first winery we went to was Amaren which was truly a delight. Natalia was a the quintessential hostess. The wine was delectable and we even bought 6 bottles to ship to the US. The tapas were refreshing and we would recommend to everyone. The second winery we visited was Torre de Oño. The guide intricately explained the history and winemaking process. The meal was outstanding and the view was astounding. We truly want to emphasize how Marina elevated our entire experience. Me and my sister were so grateful to have her with us and would go on another tour with her in a heartbeat.
