The Badaling Great Wall is quite faraway from the citycenter, the transfer need probably 1.5 hrs to reach the wall and another 1.5 hrs to get back, so including the pick-up and drop-off, totally will take you around 7-8hrs.

I booked an English guide and the entire tour was in Chinese. Drop off location was way far away from pick up location . Promised a pick up and last minute they say they don’t have pick up available however we pass by my hotel on the way to the wall

It did the job: managed to visit the Wall and to come back. Not entirely satisfied because: - after the outbound departure from the city centre, we stopped somewhere in the suburbs to wait for over 30 minutes further tourists; - the guide did not speak any English, not a word but we managed somehow with Google Translate; the worse was that she did not stop talking in Chinese in both directions and there was no way to mute or at least turn the volume down on the speakers, which were incredibly loud. While it was maybe a value added for the native speakers, for me and my son it was a torture. - the entire trip lasted like 8-9 hours while it was a described as 5-hour trip.
