An unforgettable solo business escape: Private evening tour of the Great Wall with virtually no crowds.

Traveling solo on business to China, I wanted to ensure I got to see the Great Wall. Being here for work, I thought this wouldn’t happen. Then I saw this night our advertised. Booking it, I presumed it was a small group tour travelling out to Badaling. Turned out, it was a private tour with my own car and guide - the wonderful Mr. Ghou! The night tour is amazing, even though it rained a little while I was there. The daytime humidity in Beijing was a killer, but the evening at Badaling was so cool and calm. But the real gem of this tour…. At night, I virtually had the wall to myself! No crazy hoardes of tourists filling their instagram feeds. Just calm, relaxation. My guide also arranged to pick me up from my hotel, with communication in advance bending spot on. In the car, was plenty of water and bananas to keep the energy up. Mr Ghou also proved adept as a photographer, a good companion who enjoyed a joke or four, and gave expert guidance in the souvenir shopping. Thank you for an amazing trip Mr. Ghou.

Unique evening on Badaling

We had a wonderful evening trip to Badaling with our driver Mr Guo. Mr Guo was brilliant - he had great English, we were picked up on time from our hotel and had a comfortable drive to Badaling. He thoughtfully had water and bananas for us for the journey which is about 90 mins outside Beijing in evening traffic. The time at the Great Wall was self guided and Mr Guo made sure we had his contact details if we needed anything while there. We were well looked after and also enjoyed plenty of free time to explore the Great Wall, admiring it as it turned from dusk to dark. There were very few other visitors there so it was peaceful. It was a truly unforgettable experience!

The night visit to the Great Wall was unforgettable. Mr. Guo was very accommodating and went the extra ‘mile’ by providing bananas and water for the hour+ drive. Comfortable car. Mr. Guo was punctual and all tickets were pre-arranged. Crowds were minimal on our visit - a BIG +++. Unfortunately, the restaurants were closed at the end of our visit so we missed dinner, but that didn’t diminish the experience.

Absolutely incredible experience. Our driver Mr Guo picked us up from the Hotel. He even provided is with water and bananas. We took the tour on Sunday the 15.6. and we were pretty much alone at the wall. No wait time. It was just incredible. I know that the tour can't control the crowds but just the convenience of having your own driver is worth the price.
