We loved this food tour. It combined a history lesson on the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel with amazing food from 5 different restaurants within the hotel. Our guide Amanda made sure every guest had their say. Also, the chefs at each restaurant presented each dish/cocktail/wine pairing and told us a little about themselves. So interesting!

Delicious, entertaining & educational

Katherine_S, Sep 2026
Of all the tours I’ve taken this was the best, food & guide wise. Amanda was so personable & knowledgeable, she accommodated everyone. The culture aspect was very interesting. It is pricey, but so worth it. I was so full afterwards & would definitely do it again!

The food and the location...

sherry_d, Sep 2026
The food and the location were first class. The chefs explained in detail about how the food was prepared and why they selected the pairing of the drinks. They were available for questions and made everyone feel welcomed and accommodated food allergies. The guide did a good job explaining the history of the castle. However, parking was very expensive and we asked the guide about having the parking ticket validated, she ducked around the issue and didn't really want to see if she could help the group with that request. The parking should have been validated or at least state that parking is an additional charge in the description of the event.

Response from Host, Sep 2026

Dear Sherry, Thank you for your review. We really appreciate your feedback about the parking and frankly, we totally agree and have been lobbying for validation for our guests. You are right, parking is pricey at $10 to $15 per hour near the Banff Springs. We do send a note to the guests who purchase tickets outlining free parking on Spray Avenue or the option to take the ROAM bus. Sometimes when tickets are purchased through a third party like Viator, that note might get missed. Please accept my apologies for this. Also, please know how happy we are that you enjoyed the tour itself, the tastings, the team and our guide. We appreciate you including our Eat the Castle tour in your plans for Banff. With kindness, Karen Anderson, President Alberta Food Tours

Castle and Classy quinine

Madison_B, Aug 2026
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this tour! Our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and city along with the food. She made sure the whole group felt taken care of and included! We actually had 3 tour guides on our tour which was a very pleasant coincidence! They shared about their lives and we were able to learn additional information about local life and about the privilege of living in Banff. They also helped us get to our next tour efficiently. Additionally, one of the guides who works for Alberta food tours gave us a recommendation for our ride home (Winderberry and Edibles Farm) which did not let us down! Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Dear Madison, Thanks so much for your lovely review. I'm so glad you got to know a few of our fabulous team members. Aren't they a delight? And true locals; always wanting to share the best experience with our visitors. Please come see us again in Calgary, Canmore and Edmonton too! Culinary and Cultural Insights

Patricia_M, Jul 2026
We walked through the historic hotel and learned about its history. Our guide learned about where we were from and accentuated our tour with details from our countries. She showed us the international roots of the hotel and also honored the native culture. And the food was out of this world! Delicious pairings from 5 of the restaurants! We were able to meet many chefs as well. Unforgettable experience!

Can’t Give Enough Stars! ❤️

Stacy_H, Nov 2025
I expected a great experience but this tour blew any expectations out of the water. The food was phenomenal and the culinary staff introduced each element of the tour while also adding their own story. The tour also gives an inside look at the Fairmont “castle” that even the hotel guests are unlikely to see and experience. And wrapping it all together was our tour guide Amanda, who was passionate,, knowledgeable, engaging and simply fantastic. The whole experience more than I could have hoped for and was the best part of our entire Banff vacation. Thank you!

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear Stacy, Thank you so much for your amazing review. We are so grateful. Amanda shared how much she enjoyed your group.
