Not good for English speaking travelers - will just steal your money and give no tour

I booked an English tour during peak season. The guide messages me on WhatsApp the morning of with directions to a meet up point, mainly in French. We had a rental car and drove ourselves to Avignon. Within the French, she wrote “next to hotel de ville”. Coming from another tour about 15 min from Avignon, I entered hotel de ville into my map and it directed me to an actual hotel outside of town, later I find out this means city hall in French. I was routed 35 minutes away from the actual meetup point, parked, and walked 10 minutes to hotel de ville. No guide. I called and she kept asking me if I see (a, b, c) all in French. Getting frustrated because I don’t speak French, hence when I booked an English private tour. She sends me an Avenue name in French again. After finding out we’ve just wasted 15 minutes trying to find her, I have another 15 min walk back to find my car, and a 35 minute drive where I’ll need to walk again. I just asked for a refund as we’d hardly have any time left to tour. She said the operating agency probably won’t and I was frustrated she tried to throw me off giving me instructions in French. The operating agency was equally unhelpful and said they couldn’t call the guide because she was on another tour - not true as it was during my tour time and she told me her next tour start time. I drove 35 min across town and just entered the Avignon cathedral. I found parking and we had 35 minutes remaining in our tour time. Neither the guide nor your agency would answer my call. I was hoping to learn about some history, but we had to just walk around and see it ourselves for 30 minutes before leaving for our next tour. I’m extremely frustrated and will have to file a chargeback in my American Express. They could’ve at least given us the 30 minutes remaining after I had paid $300, especially for their mistake in directing me!

Dear traveler, 1. You changed start time last minute which made our Guide change the meeting point. This means your request changed both meeting point and booked start time of this product. 2. Guide did correctly give you the name of city hall and square in French and she did it in WhatsApp as per screenshots we have, the names of streets in France are not in english as you wish you would have. Screenshots show she has written to you in english with the names of square, streets and city hall in French. 3. We called you on phone and you asked for refund and your only point was „guide did not speak french and sent messages in french“. Sorry, but our guide has been doing english tours for many years and many tours for our clients. With best feedback from clients. 4. She has been flexible last minute to change tour start time per your wish; you arrived at square with delay as per screenshots, could not find the meeting point, did not ask any person on spot to help you, you did not call our emergency line which you have on your Voucher. 5. Considering all this, we do not understand why you ask refund for this and you give us 1*!

Great private walking tour of Avignon

We had a nice, well paced walking tour of Avignon which went around all the key historical sites and churches. Even though it was quite cold that day (mid December) it was still sunny and pleasant. We learned a lot about the history of Avignon. Note that this tour doesn't include an internal tour of the Popes palace, you would need to do that separately
