My husband and I would definitely recommend this trip. Our guide Carlos provided entertaining company and was very knowledgeable. It was a small and unhurried tour, which gave us plenty of time to learn about the vineyards and their wines, and to get to know our fellow travellers. We have been on other wine tours, but this was by far the best.

I booked this excursion in early July.
Two days before the trip it was cancelled and a new date and time was arranged for yesterday.
After waiting for 45 minutes I contacted Algarving Tours to be told our pickup had been missed!
When I questioned what happens now, I was offered a refund and a free tour at another date ( after what had just happened, I declined. 🤬)
I have not received an apology from this company, and all I received were these messages via WhatsApp ( and I quote ) “ Oh God” and
“ There are no words”
Well I can find the words….
We were looking forward to this trip and, 1st to be cancelled and then rescheduled the night before and then to be overlooked . To add insult to injury not even being given an apology.🤬
I would not recommend Algarving Tours and I will not be booking via Viator again.

We are truly sorry for letting you down. Having your tour rescheduled and then missing your pickup is completely unacceptable, and we fully understand how frustrating it is to lose precious holiday time.
We want to be clear that this logistical failure was 100% our team’s responsibility and does not reflect on Viator. In years of operating tours, an isolated human error like this is extraordinarily rare for us, but that makes it no less disappointing when it impacts your plans.
While we issued your full refund on the spot and our guide reached out to apologize, we acknowledge that the initial WhatsApp reactions sent in shock ("Oh God," "There are no words") fell short of the calm, professional reassurance you deserved.
We completely respect your decision to decline the complimentary tour. We have addressed this incident internally with our dispatch and communication protocols to ensure this mistake remains an absolute exception. We deeply regret disrupting your holiday in the Algarve.

Great guide , excellent driver. Two nice wineries , the first was better than the second one, the second one was quite dismissive. But the guide made up for it he was excellent
We had a great day today on the vineyard tour. Our guide Carlos was excellent, he’s knowledge of the area, the vineyards, the grapes and wines is exceptional. Overall a great day with a great guide.
Our tour guide Carlos was amazing. He was very informative and funny. We really enjoyed the whole experience. We were on the tour with 2 other couples and they were also great company. Would highly recommend this tour
As we were coming from Faro, we were picked up by our driver and tour guide, Carlos, at the main bus station. He was right on time, and a wealth of knowledge. Wines were good, as were the Tapas, but Carlos made the tour.
This was a great combination tour. We were able to view cork trees and get history on the trees as well as all the info on production of corks. We got to view storks in nests with their young, very cool! Then on to the winery, which was one of the best wine tours we’ve ever done. Guide (João) was very informative, the best guide, very knowledgeable.
Great fun in the Algarve for a small group. Wineries were lovely and wines were good. Our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and so very personable. Highly recommend
Absolutely first class, the group was 6 people including ourselves.lovly people all. The guide filipe excellent could not be more helpful. Wineries where great. Altogether a great trip
Carlos is such an amazing and informative host! We enjoyed delicious local wines that can only be found in the Algarve region. The free time in Silves was a nice break to explore a smaller, historic village full of good shopping and eateries.
Great experience! The cheese was hard, so it could have been fresher for the tapas, but overall a wonderful experience. The wines, people, and views were absolutely wonderful!

It was so much fun!! Our tour guide Joao was very knowledgeable. We learned details of the cork industry here in Portugal. Time in Silves was enough to tour the castle and have lunch in between visiting two wineries. Staff at the wineries were welcoming and professional sharing information on the various wines we sampled. It was a great adventure. We met two Brits who added to the laughter during our day. Absolute pleasure seeing the terrain along the way.
Our guide, Joao, was extremely knowledgeable of the area being a local and of the wine process. It was fascinating to learn cork came from oak trees and the types of wine bottles used.
Absolutely a beautiful day, Joao was an excellent tour guide, he shared his vast knowledge of cultural history and made the day very pleasant. The wineries were excellent and the views stunning.
An excellent day with free time in the charming town of Silves and visits to two beautiful small wineries where we sampled three very good wines with meats and cheese in beautiful surroundings. Our guide, Joao was very informative, both about the wine and about the area. A very worthwhile and enjoyable day.
Don’t hesitate to book this tour! Our guide Carlos was wonderful! We learned so much about the entire wine making process. We had a small group of 7.. met some wonderful people from different countries..the wineries were great too!
A wonderful day of visiting the Silves area. Our first stop was a family owned winery that if you ever had a vision of what a European winery should look like, this would be it. Rows upon rows of vines on rolling hills makes for a most picturesque setting. Staff there was so friendly. We were taken on tour of the production area by our very knowledgeable Algarving Tours guide Carlos. He had excellent insights of the local wine industry.
Our next stop was at Silves. Free time to see the town, enjoy lunch and explore a Moor era castle. This was time well spent.
Our final stop was at a municipal owned winery. A nice winery that shows how a well run non family operation can produce wines that are as good as old generational wineries. Friendly staff to treat us to their selection and offerings.
This was a great day and again, Carlos our tour guide was so very knowledgeable of everything on this tour and always more than happy to answer questions.

Highly recommend this tour. It was quite relaxed, not hectic and we had some excellent wine. In particular, our guide, Joao was terrific. He definitely made it a fun trip.
