A fun learning experience!

Marguerite runs the workshop in the artisans shop with lots of lovely art to peruse. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed learning the techniques to paint our tiles. Be aware that the tiles take a few days to be fired in the kiln, so check that you have a way to retrieve them after your workshop. She will arrange shipping to SOME locations. Overall a really enjoyable experience!

Fabulous!!!! Felt like a real artist! Instructions were easy to understand and we were able to complete 2 tiles!!!! I would highly recommend, especially if you’re on a girls trip!!!

I am not an artist... but this class was something I thought my (grown) daughters and I would enjoy trying. Our teacher was incredibly patient and encouraging! I didn't realize the tiles would take so long to fire and finish, but am hopeful they'll tolerate the trip back to the US more intact via shipping! Silves is a lovely village, we also enjoyed a little shopping and a meal there!

We had an amazing time with Margarida she is a wonderful instructor! My fiance and I got to pick which designs we wanted to make. Margarida then showed us each step of the process and we were making beautiful tiles in no time! It was a super fun class and she was extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Afterwards we had a snack of delicious sweet oranges and fig and almond stars! We had an awesome time and would recommend this to anyone looking to experience the tile painting tradition of Portugal!

What an amazing experience. Our host was wonderful, friendly, loving, she coached us and had patience and made us feel so special and welcome. We had three little kids too and she made it fun for them! We even got local special treats afterwards! We were so happy with the experience and loved it!

Beautiful day in the studio

The tile painting workshop with Margarida was such a unique and wonderfully authentic experience. Her studio is decorated with beautiful tiles, ceramics, and pottery that she has created. I am a complete painting novice and Margarida showed me how to create the correct brush strokes for the design I wanted to create. She was so kind and patient and we had a great time chatting and painting. We spent some time practicing before working on the tiles, and in the end they came out beautifully. She also shared some local snacks with me afterward. Wonderful family run business, I picked up my tiles within 2 days. Highly recommend this experience!!
