This was a really good tour, caves were amazing and fun. I highly recommend it. The three guys on the boat were really friendly taken care of us really well, handed out bottles of water half way through kayaks tour, One of them was called Victor and I remember that because that’s my grandson‘s name, the other two were equally as good. I recommend taking a spare shorts or just wearing bathers, because you do get wet in the kayak, but it was amazing and I got to jump in the sea afterwards, the guys helped me back on the boat so no Problems at all, I would happily do this tour again.

This was a fun trip we were able to go in a few different caves. We had a wonderful time. The guides Hugo, Vincent and Diego were amazing. The only hard thing for us was figuring out where to park because there are no signs in the parking lot as to where you actually need to go. So my advice is park either in the garage or across from the colorful buildings where you enter the marina and take the stairs down and look for San Marzano pizza and you will find the tour. Highly recommend.

Fun experience. Guides and Captain keep it light and friendly. We travelled with a 10 and 12 year old who were nervous about kayaking in the ocean. They ended up loving the experience and even jumped into the ocean from the boat at the end of the experience. Overall safe and exciting adventure.

Amazing way to see the beautiful scenery around Benagil

Miguel, Victor and Hugo were great guides/hosts. We had a comfortable boat driven well by Hugo and all well maintained equipment . Miguel was a fun and knowledgable guide based in the lead kayak. Being active on the water was perfect for our group of 8 to explore the amazing scenery and the water break on the beach was timed perfectly. It was very special being able to kayak in and through the caves. Yes it was busy with other kayaks and boats but with Miguel at the front to lead and Victor on the rib behind we were well looked after. A very neat operation getting us all safely back on the boat. Amazing tour

First, the crew were really friendly. Shoutout to Miguel who guided us in the caves and told us about the history of Portugal. The kayak tour is awesome and we can see from the insides many caves. There are a lot of waves so you need to be ready (only a group of 2 fell in the water out of 6 groups). There is also a motor boat following us in case of an emergency. Plus we were lucky enough to see dolphins on the ride to the cave!!

The guys on the boat were courteous, funny and helpful, it was a fun day out, do be aware that the kayaking is quite physical and some caves quite dark and small, so if you’re frail or have restricted movement may not be for you

Exhilarating fun

We went on this trip on Sunday 1st September and did the kayaking around the caves with Miguel and the boys. It was the highlight of our trip. We loved it and it flew by so quickly. We took our 12 and 15 year olds and they wanted to do it all day. The crew followed in boats and made sure we were safe and had the best time. Definitely worth doing x

Way too crowded to enjoy the beauty of the caves.

Unfortunately this tour did not live up to the hype. This may very well be a much better experience during the spring or fall months, but it is by far way to crowded with both kayaks and boats that get dangerously close to shore to enjoy during the summer. I was hit by others in kayaks at least 3 times, the water is incredibly choppy due to all of the boats, and there’s a good chance an inexperienced kayaker could either get hit by a boat or pushed into the rocks because of the wake. Unless the local tourism bureau working with the police create a more organized and crowd controlled experience, I cannot recommend this tour. I still have bruises from the kayak collisions.

The trip was excellent. Expertly taken into (but remained in kayaks) the Benagil cave. Great crew - a great morning on the sea. Kayaked in and out of other caves, stopped along the way for a swim and drink then made our way to the boat where we had a chance to jump off boat and into the sea for a swim.

My family experienced both the Benagil cave kayak tour and the Dolphin and cave tours by Seacret. We saw dozens of dolphins and the caves, and our two kayakers were very happy as well. They also happened to see some dolphins along the coast. Both tours are highly recommended. I had read a lot of negative reviews about small boats vs big boats and tough seas, and concluded that a kayak tour was best, but my mom would not be able to kayak due to a back problem so I chose this tour as it included a boat she could stay on whil we kayaked. When we went to scout out the location and redeem our aviator voucher the day before (not necessary) the Seacret staff informed us that the katamaran carrying kayaks does not enter the caves and offered to rebook two of us on the dolphin and caves tour by speed boat. I mentioned I was worried it would be uncomfortable in a speed boat but they assured us that the water is calm in the morning for our 9:30 tour. Then they showed us how to enter the parking garage so my mom would not have to walk far. In the morning their guides moved us to a boat with families and made sure my mom was in a comfortable seat. The guide was a marine biologist. Great all around!

Do not book if you want to disembark your kayak in the cave!

I had to give this tour 1 star since we specifically choose this tour because we wanted to spend time on the beach in the cave. The description specifically states that you can disembark from your kayak in the cave; however when we got there and were already on the boat we were advised that we could not disembark due to regulations. What regulations? All of the online research says the only way to get to the beach was via swimming, kayak or paddle board. To make matters worst, dozens of other kayakers were able to disembark. Do not book if you want to disembark your kayak in the cave! I will be contacting Viator for a full refund.

Despite this, TripAdvisor decided not to update the text to avoid losing sales. This is the accurate text that should be visible to customers: "Embark on a catamaran from Albufeira Marina to Benagil cave. Here, we'll stop our boat and begin a 3.5-hour tour. Join your guide for kayaking to explore the bays, beaches, and caves between Benagil and the famous Marinha beach. **IMPORTANT:** You'll have the opportunity to explore the interior of the Benagil cave during the tour. However, walking inside the cave is prohibited as it is now a protected area. If the waters are calm, we'll pause at a small beach for a refreshing swim in the sea. Later, re-board the catamaran for another swim before returning to the marina. While this kayak tour is relaxing, it does require some physical effort. Great way to see the beautiful coastline!

My husband and I had a great time on this boat/kayak tour. From the marina you ride on the boat ~30 minutes to get closer to the caves. It was very relaxing and a great way to see the coast. Then we boarded our kayaks and went into Benagil cave and the surrounding caves in the area. It was very crowded with other kayaks and boats but our guide did a great job of keeping us all together and explaining the different rock formations along the way. We kayaked to a beach and had some free time to swim and explore. Then we kayaked back to the boat to head back to the marina. I would recommend wearing waterproof shoes and a swimsuit because even if you don't want to swim you will get wet in the kayak. We would highly recommend this experience!

The trip was amazing! The guys taking the tour were great! Miguel and Victor were great guides and very professional. Would definitely recommend. We loved that they respected the Benagil Caves and told us to just look, unlike some other groups who were on the tiny beach in there.

Great idea but severely lacking.

This sounds like an amazing tour BUT specifically asked if we went in the benagil cave then they said YES. We idled outside the cave to take photos and then kayaked up the coast for a bit. The kayaking was fun and beautiful but we didn’t get the experience we signed up for. Neither did they offer any water at all despite the fact that they said it was included. Pick another tour!

Dear Vera, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few important points. Your group did, in fact, enter the Benagil cave and remained inside for the amount of time permitted by local regulations, which we strictly follow to ensure safety and fairness for all visitors. We always aim to provide the best possible experience within these guidelines. Regarding water, it is not included as part of the tour but occasionally offered as a courtesy when available. As stated in our recommendations, each participant is responsible for bringing their own water, especially given the physical nature of the activity. Amazing Kayak Benagil Tour!!

Victor and Christiano took us on an amazing tour of the Benagil caves! The boat ride out to the caves was very nice but when we arrived to the caves we were in awe!! They were very careful to get everyone safely onto the kayaks and led us all through the caves. We absolutely LOVED this tour!! Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation.
