Very extremely late pick up and incorrect communication about pick up time!

Poor experience. 1. booking email said 8 am on March 14 from Banff Caribou. We waited from 7:25 am and called at 8:10 am 2. No contact on confirmation email and we called at 8:25 to be told that our pick up time was 9:50 am and this started in Calgary at 8 am 3. We call 3 times the call centre through google search to find the number and was given different reasons at different times 4. We did not see pick up at 9:50 and so 10:15 we called again - now call centre said pick up time was 8 am. We were there from 7:25 am and no one came. When we confirmed pick up time was 9:50 am they confirmed it was correct. 5. Call centre then checked with local operator who told them that the driver came at 9:35 and left at 9:50. We met and spoke to this driver who said our names were not on the list. This is wrong! Then we were informed that the driver would return in 5-10 mins and pick us up. 6. We called the Call Centre again after 20 mins because the # given for the driver was no accessible and we could not reach the driver. 7. Finally the driver cum tour guide arrived at 10:45 am - after we had waited 3 hours and 20 mins. 8. Fortunately the driver Happy was a good cautious driver and had an in-depth knowledge of the tour and sites and a pleasant demeanor - which consoled us. 9. I booked these tickets for friends from New York and Melbourne Australia - what a shame they had to experience this awful Canadian customer service and absolutely atrocious delay! 10. First of all I got numerous email telling me when I will be charged but no clear communication of time of pick up at our place and call centre gave varying responses. Finally we understood that the tour began in Calgary and pick up was 8 am in Calgary and they would arrive at our pick up at 9:50. This was NOT clear. Then the delay and we were not told the truth. Seems like our original driver had an accident. Sorry to hear that and hope he is fine. However we should have been told the truth! Please let me know how you are going to compensate us? Having visited Banff twice before by car, exploring via a guided tour this time was a fantastic change of pace. Booking through the Viator app was incredibly user-friendly and made the entire process seamless. The itinerary was well-planned, but the highlight was our guide, Godi. He is an excellent driver who made us feel safe throughout the trip. His professional expertise and deep knowledge of the area really enhanced the experience. Highly recommended!

We booked 8 am tour but was informed the morning of that our location only picked up at 930. There was no description of our tour van so we didn't know what to look for. Many tours were leaving at same time. Once we located ours. Great trip and our guide was helpful and informative. The descriptive material should have said a lunch stop was included.

Great to see a lot in one day

I think this tour is great in that you get to see a lot in one day, but I was disappointed that we got less time at each place than the itinerary stated. At Lake Louise, we got 40 minutes instead of an hour. At Lake Moraine, we had 50 mins instead of an hour. And, at Johnston Canyon, we got 50 minutes instead of 1 1/2 hours. The guide was nice, but I’m disappointed that we had shortened stays at each location.

Our guide (Harry) was friendly and knowledgeable. He was helpful throughout the experience and made certain everyone was fully informed on each stop. He did a fantastic job! Note: It would be helpful if Viator gave the guide a sign to hold at the pickup site that included the specific tour and time they are picking up for. Many tour operators did this for excursions on the cruise lines and it is helpful - especially when there are numerous buses and guides picking up. .

Excellent tour! Parking at the pick up site in Canmore was the only drawback to our tour, but our guide was very accommodating! The “Lakes” are all very very crowded, but soooo beautiful!
