Ocean Safari with us and experience the best of what the season has to offer. Whales and dolphins are our main stay during the season but are usually limited to June through August regularly. Icebergs can be seen usually between April and July when they are passing through. We are part of the UNESCO certified Discovery Geopark. The geology of the area is from the Ediacharan Period of the geological record and holds the fossil record of some of the first life on the planet. We will include this as part of the narration of the area and the wildlife that we see. Though wildlife is never guaranteed our guests can expect to see whales, dolphins, birds and waterfowl in season as well as icebergs, puffins, gannets, eagles and many other birds. Sunfish are a regular sighting in the falls and Leatherback Turtles and Sea Eagles have been seen.

A Must If You Want the Scoop on St. John's

David, our tour guide, did an excellent job. He is a "townie" and very authentic. We learned a great deal about St. John's and its history. It's a lot of walking, but with pauses (and one port-a-potty break) that let us rest for a few minutes at each stop on the tour. There are some inclines, and you are on your feet the whole 2.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes

Isaac was an excellent guide, he explained much of the history- keeping it simple and interesting-the culture, language etc while walking between the major sights and significant buildings and avoiding steep climbs. Great scenery and history, well narrated by our driver/guide Nila. Somewhat of a drive from Halifax, but not too bad. We really enjoyed Lunnenburg. Fog made Peggy's Cove less than optimal, but certainly not the tour operator's fault. We would highly recommend the tour.

St Johns through the eyes of locals

George and David the two guides for our two vans were equally fabulous. I had misunderstood and thought George was a host for the come from away people or the plain people, but he was actually an actor in the play come from away. It did not matter, cause he was a true Newfoundlander, and let us on an exciting, beautiful, and enthusiastic Tours. David, the driver and Tours in the other van with us, was a retired professor who specialized in Newfoundland history. He is a fifth generation Newfoundlander. Both had wonderful stories to tell. A huge Plus was a stop to eat at a restaurant that served fresh cod, ours caught today. I highly recommend this trip book early, as it fills up quickly.

Don’t skip this tour

I wish I could rate my experience higher than 5 stars. The charisma and humour of the crew made this tour infinitely better and I was already going to see puffins, so I didn’t think the experience could even get any better. They sang, they filled us with knowledge, they made puffin noises, and the song they played as we approached the island is something that will stick with me forever. Even when I lose my memories, this one is sure to stay. 10/10, would fly out here just to take this tour again.

Excellent experience!

This was such a GREAT tour! Dave was a perfect tour guide—he was a wealth of local knowledge as well as local history. He was a perfect match for our family. He tailored our tour to meet our specific interests and it was spot on! He knows the area and how to make the most of our tour. The best thing about this tour is not only did it allow us to see the areas we wanted to see, but it gave us a “lay of the land” so we could then go out and explore on our own. Fantastic Experience — The Puffins Stole the Show! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kate and I absolutely loved our whale and bird tour out of Bay Bulls. From the moment we got on the boat, it was clear that Zach wasn’t just a guide — he was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area. His knowledge of the birds, whales and the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve was exceptional. He was able to point out different species, explain what we were seeing, and share interesting facts throughout the entire trip. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that made the experience even better. Unfortunately, the whales didn’t cooperate for us that day, but honestly, Zach more than made up for it. We were lucky enough to see tuna, which was a really cool surprise, and of course… THE PUFFINS STOLE THE SHOW! 🐧 Seeing so many puffins and the incredible number of seabirds around the islands was something Kate and I will remember for a long time. Being right out on the water surrounded by thousands of birds was an amazing experience and gave us a whole new appreciation for Newfoundland’s coastline and wildlife. Even without seeing a whale, we both walked away feeling like we had an incredible day. That’s a testament to how good Zach was at making the experience interesting and enjoyable from start to finish. We had a fun experience...

We had a fun experience with the crew who were very accommodating and engaged with everyone on the cruise. We were lucky enough to see 2 humpback whales! The captain was able to circle around the whales for about 30 minutes so everyone was able to see them and take amazing pictures. We were too late to see icebergs but the whales stole the show! Awesome way to spend a couple of hours and enjoy the views of this beautiful island.

Nice tour

Nice day exploring the area around St John. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Being in a small bus was nice for the frequent stops.. Only thing I would change is how to find the bus-- we didn't know the name of the company or where to meet them. My husband had to call Viator to find out. Would be nice when you make the reservation to find this out. Or send an email text the day before?
