- The ticket is valid only for the date and time reserved. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a time entrance of the Vatican Museums tour voucher. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. ALL participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
- While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs/walkers on this tour.
- Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
- We cannot accommodate service animals.
- Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
- Large umbrellas are not permitted, please leave these at your accommodation.
- No pictures, videos, or even speaking is allowed in the Sistine Chapel.
- St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). Please note that closures of St. Peter's Basilica can happen anytime without further notice. No refunds are recognized for unexpected closures.

Easy to find the starting point and very close to the Vatican, we had some minor emergency that made us 10 mins late but the operator was very good at communicating and walked us over to join the rest of the group in line. Elaine was very funny and personable and explained lots of things around the sites. Only critique would be that it would be nice to have 5-10 mins to explore the gift shops before moving on to the next location as you cannot go back. A flag would also make it easier to spot the guide amongst all of the other tours, but overall great experience!

Our guide Yaniers had incredible energy and made the your. She did a great job of explaining the Sistine Chapel as well as many other artifacts as we walked through the Vatican. She was great in St Peter’s and we appreciated using the guide shortcut between the two.

Our guide was absolutely amazing. From the very beginning, she kept us enthralled while we waited for the Vatican to open. Waiting in a queue? No, no! We were being given a history lesson about the development of the Vatican. This tour was the highlight of our time in Italy. Mario provided so much information and history — you can tell he is very passionate about art and history. Early morning appears to be the way to go to get past lines and have some moments without huge crowds. There is really no way to truly tour all of the Vatican in one day (or honestly even a month!) but this tour gave us a good start. We had our family with varying interests and all of them took something away that was meaningful. We will absolutely return, and will book another tour with Mario!

It was great our guide [ I'm gonna say sistina?] Was awesome. We did early morning Vatican tour she gave great information but not a history lesson like some. Great pace, we saw a lot and heard a lot but felt like we got a real feel of this amazing place.

Wonderful experience! Our guide Jeb was extremely knowledgeable and went at a great pace. He made a specific point to include the smallest of the children with us to make sure they saw everything. There is a cafe right next door to the meeting spot so if you’re going early, don’t worry about where you’ll get breakfast and a coffee before the tour. The check in process was super easy. Being able to spend about 20 minutes in the Sistine chapel was amazing. Then going right into the Basilica was perfection.

This was a very fun tour. Yanira was so knowledgeable, but her energetic and fun tour really made it enjoyable. The Vatican is full of exciting things, and she showed us all of the main things and some of her own favorites. I would definitely take her tour over and over again.

This skip the line guided tour (What A Life tours) included Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. Elaine was knowledgeable, funny, and kept us on track theough busy spaces. I appreciated her depth of knowledge and commitment to continued learning about the history of artifacts and spaces. She truly loves her job.
It was quite hot when we were there and large air conditioning units were not yet installed. Plan accordingly either water and cool clothes. Shoulder and knee coverings are required.
Tip: cafe vaticano between the Vatican and the meeting point does not always open on time.

I really enjoyed my tour with Mario. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. It was a very early morning and a long 3.5 hour tour, but Mario made it fun and it went by super quick! I appreciated that the tour operator gave me a phone call to check in a few minutes before the start time, as I was delayed in traffic. I made it on time and the structure of the tour went very well logistically. I learned a lot and enjoyed my time with Mario. I definitely recommend this tour.

I had gone to the Vatican many years ago, so this time I wanted a guide in hopes I would get more history and information during my visit. Our your guide was excellent! She had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. As a history teacher I find , sometimes the guides get things wrong, she did not! I would definitely recommend getting a guide if you plan on visiting the Vatican and go early as the crowds are not bad.

The early morning Vatican tour was definitely worth it. The Vatican is so big that it may seem they rush through but they can only cover a small taster on this tour which was perfect for us! We saw the Sistine Chapel and the Piete. We know we will come back and visit again and know we will plan to spend a full day there. It was amazing

The complete early morning Vatican tour provided by What a Life Tours was excellent. The company was responsive to our questions prior to our visit. When we arrived they were very organized and it was a nice small group of 10. It was great to do the early tour as it was less busy and a cooler part of the day. Our tour guide Yanira was amazing. She was very knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, was happy to answer our questions and set a manageable pace. We never felt rushed and we felt we had a full experience of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. We would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide who I wish I could remember her name was so amazing! She was so knowledgeable and it was a very hot day and she went very slow to accommodate the heat and checked on everyone to make sure they were OK. The things we saw were amazing and definitely bucket list items and I would definitely recommend this tour.!!

We had an absolutely wonderful Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica tour with our guide, Cinzia. She was outstanding from start to finish. Her knowledge was incredible, and she shared such immense, immersive detail and history in a way that was both informative and engaging. She truly brought the Vatican, the artwork, the history, and St. Peter’s Basilica to life for us.
The entire experience was very well led by Cinzia. She kept the tour moving smoothly, made everything easy to follow, and made sure we were able to appreciate the significance of what we were seeing. Her passion and expertise made the tour a very special and memorable experience.
We also want to mention how grateful we are to the staff. Unfortunately, our driver navigated to a different address than intended, which caused us to be late. We were so relieved and blessed that one of the wonderful staff members helped guide us to our tour group so that we were still able to participate. We do not know her name, but she was a kind young woman from Jamaica, and we are very thankful for her help.
Overall, we are so appreciative of our amazing guide Cinzia and the kind staff member who helped us that morning. This was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend it.

This tour, operated by What a Life Tours with our guide Cinzia, was amazing! Cinzia is a wealth of knowledge and gave us a fantastic tour. She knew the highlights and secret treasures to see in the Vatican Museums, and, of course, in St. Peter’s Basilica.
I highly recommend the early morning slot, as the crowds become almost unmanageable by the end of the visit.
A must-do in the Vatican!

The tour was wonderful! We had the pleasure of Jeanette being our guide who was personable and knowledgeable! We had a group of about 8 people total which helped with staying together through the big crowds. We cut the line and went through security very easily with our group. The tour was an hour and a half which was perfect for seeing the major areas like the Sistine chapel without doing so much that you lose interest/ get tired. There was 1 20 minute break right before the Sistine chapel for bathroom and cafe/ exploring the chapel at your own pace. Every artifact we stopped at was explained thoroughly by Jeanette leaving time for questions as well. She is a fun guide if you get her! Highly recommend this tour if you are unsure of where to book. They made it all easy and fun!

The Guide Jeanette was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Hard job to do. Getting in with the lines is a hassle and people get bummed out. She lifted spirits with insights and banter. The tour covers all the highlights and some not so known stuff. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting the Vatican.

We truly enjoyed our tour with Mario. His knowledge was impressive and stories humorous. We still had a line, but it beat the long queue of people waiting in the hot sun to buy tickets. We moved through the organized chaos effienciently and at the right pace to marvel at the relics.
