Excellent tour. Great details and backstories were shared. I badly sprained my ankle a couple of weeks before this trip and our guide was careful to watch my pace and adjusted his timing to fit my speed.
It was expensive but in my mind worth every penny. We wouldn’t have gotten 1/10 out of the experience if we had tried to do it on our own.

Our private Vatican tour with Mirta was fantastic! We were picked up from our hotel on time and every detail of the day went exactly as promised. Mirta was a charming and informative tour guide. She had so much to share and was funny too. While we waited to go in (we were intentionally early in order to enter as soon as the Vatican opened), she wisely used the time to share all about the Sistine chapel since guides can’t speak inside the church. Later, when we were actually in the chapel, we felt we had much better knowledge of all of the special details. Starting early meant we were able to beat the rush of people and have a really special overall experience. She was so good at highlighting the best parts and kept it moving so we could see each space in a timely manner. She even took nice pictures of our group in the perfect spots. Then, our great driver was waiting for us as we walked out. It really could not have been a better tour. Thank you Mirta for providing an amazing morning for our group!

Great tour! It was difficult at first to find our guide at the meeting point. We also tried to call the office when we couldn’t find them and it took us to a non serviced number. Once we did find them, the tour was excellent and informative.

Doing this tour early is a must! First of all it was summer so walking through the museum could be miserable in the heat of the day. Simone our guide was absolutely fantastic! The pick up and drop off service was nice as well.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience. Our family of six, ranging in age from 10 to 75, was genuinely excited to visit one of the holiest places in Christianity. Instead, we left deeply disappointed.
Before we had even entered the Vatican, our guide commented that “Catholics aren’t humble people.” Throughout the tour, he repeatedly inserted his personal opinions about the Catholic Church, compared St. Peter’s Basilica to what Mecca represents for Muslims, and focused on criticizing various popes rather than presenting the history in a balanced and respectful way. At one point, while discussing religious artwork, he remarked that he would be “on the hell list” but refused to explain why.
We booked this tour to learn about the history, art, architecture, and spiritual significance of the Vatican, not to hear a guide’s personal views on Catholicism. Regardless of anyone’s personal beliefs, visitors should expect an objective and respectful presentation, especially at one of the world’s most sacred religious sites.
The experience was so disappointing that our family returned to the Vatican the following day on our own simply to reflect, pray, and experience the reverence and spiritual greatness we had hoped to find during the tour.
The Vatican is an extraordinary place. It deserved a guide who would let its history, faith, and significance speak for themselves.

Vanessa was absolutely phenomenal! Her knowledge of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica was impressive, but what truly made the experience exceptional was her ability to bring the history, art, and stories to life in a way that kept everyone engaged.
She was organized, personable, and incredibly attentive to our group throughout the tour. Having transportation arranged with pickup and drop-off made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. The only way to see the Vatican - have someone make the arrangements and navigate the crowds for you. Raquel was amazing, knew exactly where to go, what line to be in, best spot to stand for great views. She is a wealth of information and gave us a thorough overview of the history of the Vatican, Pope’s, and the art treasures within the walls. She made sure we knew all things about the Sistine Chapel before we went in so we would understand what we were looking at, some stories, answered all our questions. This made the visit so much better than going alone. Raquel took us through St Peter’s and again explained what we were looking at. She then let us stay as long as we wanted to visit the church and square on our own. You can buy additional ticket to go up to cupola- 500 stairs - and you can also visit the crypt under St Peter’s on your own. We had a fabulous day, and wouldn’t dream of doing a tour of such significance without Raquel!

Highly recommend! This was our second trip to Vatican City on the same trip (our first to Rome). Husband and I landed in the morning then took a skip-the-line tour that afternoon to visit the Grottos and the Basilica. Doing this freed up more time for this early bird tour to focus on special parts of the Museums (for example, the Raphael Rooms which are a must!). Our guide was respectful of protocols, insanely knowledgeable and let us dictate the flow.

This was an awesome tour - totally worth getting up early for. Friends shared stories about being shoulder to shoulder with other tourists - especially in the Sistine Chapel - but not for us! We were able to take our time and see everything without fighting crowds.
Simone’s archeological and historical expertise was very impressive. His enthusiasm enhanced the experience tremendously. We are so glad we invested in the private early morning tour, and lucked out having Simone as our guide.

Massimo delivered us quickly and safely to our tour guide, Marco. Marco was a terrific guide with wonderful knowledge of the Vatican from a historical perspective. Marco did a very thorough job giving us a great overview of the Vatican. To truly see the entire Vatican it would take several trips, we felt Marco did a great job of putting the Vatican into relative perspective given our time together. It is definitely a beautiful place to visit and highly recommended weather it is from a religious perspective or historical perspective.
