Rocinha Favela

My Wife & I are in our mid 60's & we decided we had to do this tour so we could see first-hand what living in a favela was like. Bruno was our guide & because he had grown up in the Rocinha favela he had a lot of interesting information. It was a noisey, all go few hours we spent there, but we never felt threatened or in any danger. Obviously there would be rougher parts we probably didn't go to. There were areas that we weren't allowed to take pics or video, due to drug sales etc. It was amazing that there is everything there you have anywhere else really. But with approx 200,000 people living there, you have too. The people we saw on the streets seemed happy, the kids seemed happy, but I'm sure there would be some tragic tales as well. We highly recommend taking this tour to see how people in different circumstances survive.

Very interesting and different

We had a very lovely afternoon in the Tijuca forest. Our guide Victor González was very attentive and fun. He was always concerned about the whole group and provided very interesting facts about the place but also about Rio in general. We had a very good afternoon and our 8-year-old son really enjoyed the experience.

It was an amazing tour ! Enough time to visit major scenic spots in Rio. Our guide Meilin took the time to stop in each place and associate views with history and nature. I have a dissability. Merlin took the time to help me to get to each place we visit safely, not leave anybody behind despite i am slow walker. Driver was also very nice. Thank you team !!

The meal was good. Not the best meal we had while in Rio, but good enough. The opening act was “ok.” It was a lot of time to fill before the main event. Honestly, it was an extremely long evening and we were on the verge of leaving after dinner, which would have been one of the biggest mistakes ever because the “show” was SPECTACULAR! I grew up going to broadway shows and this Brazilian cultural experience was one of the best shows ever! I knew less than 5% of the words sung or spoken and yet I felt like I was a part of the culture and with family. What an amazing experience. Kudos!

Fantastic day, and the right mix of activities. Great things to say about Gustavo, our tour guide. It was incredible how he jumped back-and-forth between Portuguese and English throughout the tour so that everyone could understand what he was saying. He is entertaining and a genuinely kind person. The lunch location was a bit crowded, and was buffet style. Loved this day in Rio de Janeiro and highly recommend it.

Amazing 7 hour private tour with Higor!

Did a private tour led by an incredible guide, Higor. Very well versed in English, extremely knowledgeable about local history and culture and incrediblly “connected” with the workers at each site. He was greeted at every location like he was the local mayor! I purchased skip the line tickets and “skipping lines” was an understatement! Higor escorted me past other groups with guides and right into the heads of the lines up and back Sugar Loaf. He also is an excellent photographer and could use not only my iPhone to take pics of me but also my pro Canon DSLR. It was such a wonderful experience and I always felt safe and looked after. THANK YOU HIGOR!!!!!

Fun with clouds

Allesondro was our guide. He was knowledgeable and kept a larhe group on task. He had a couple group members that didn't follow directions but he still handled it with grave. The sights were amazing and lunch at the steakhouse was great! The weather was a bit cloudy for good pictures but that is not in control of tour group.

Fun-Filled Tour

What can I say about this fantastic nine hour experience of visiting Christ The Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain & the Rio City Tour which included a trip to the famous Macarena Stadium (even though sightseeing was restricted to only the exterior of the Stadium though😊, it was still worth it), the magnificent Catedral Metropolitana de Sao Sebastiao, the noted Escadaria Selaron Steps & not forgetting the sumptuous buffet lunch we all had at a wonderful restaurant. AWESOME is the word to describe this tour. This incredible and memorable experience was made possible for my two children and I by this Company (Rio Carioca Tour), Katrin the hardworking, very very patient and marvelous Company’s Tour Guide & the lovely Tour Driver who drove us for so many hours to these places. Beth was absolutely incredible! So knowledgeable and very flexible to build the day with! We definitely felt safe have her with us! We were able to see everything we wanted and more! We were able to start the day off at the Selarón steps and walk around Santa Teresa definitely worth going early for before it gets too crowded, then we went to the cathedral and Lage Park, even though the inside was closed for remodeling the outside is well worth seeing and walking around, we then got a little sweet treat at Rio cafe and headed up to Christ the redeemer. After that we finished off at sugar loaf mountain and ate at a Brazilian Steakhouse. Absolutely worth getting a private tour! Money well spent! Carlos was also an amazing driver! I loved Beth’s personality we meshed very well and like I said earlier the flexibility she had with little changes to what we initially had planned made it all the better! She definitely suggested how to plan to get the most of the day and our money!
