An excellent introduction to Shanghai - Don't Miss it!

My trip to Shanghai came up at the last minute and based upon the reviews, I booked the tour the night before. Despite such a late booking, the tour organizers reached out to me almost immediately and followed up to make sure that I understood where to meet the driver and guide. The driver was courteous, professional, and a very safe driver. The vehicle was a nearly new EV with leather captain’s chairs in the rear — very comfortable. Without question, Wing, the tour guide, was the absolute highlight of the day. Despite inclement weather and the National Day holiday, Wing made for a very enjoyable day. A lifetime resident of Shanghai, she was able to provide extensive local color and backstory to each of the main sites that we visited. There wasn’t a single question that was asked of her that she couldn’t answer. While the agenda was designed in advance, there was plenty of time to customize it to your liking -- more or less time at a location, detours for meals and shopping, etc. While it’s impossible to see all of one of the world’s largest cities in a single day, the mix of locations provided great insight into the complex history of the city, from Imperial aged temples and gardens, the colonial era waterfront, the birth of the PRC, to the ultra modern skyscrapers of Pudong, there’s literaly something for everyone. Five stars - highest recommendation!

A wonderful day!

An early start, collected and dropped off at train station and met by Summer. Then onto the bullet train to Linhai, which was smooth & fast and we loved the journey. We spent the day with summer visiting the ancient city and then to the wall. A very warm beautiful day for a walk along the wall, to see the views and with lots of stories from Summer. The walks were perfect and lunch was very tasty. A bit of shopping and walk through the ancient town to see beautiful pagodas and then onto the lake before we headed back to the station. A full day which was made all the better by Summer! Highly recommend the tour. A very long day but worth it!

Maggi was excellent! Very passionate about her job and very knowledgeable about the destinations. Well paced tour, the forbidden city was excellent and interesting but the highlight is the Great Wall! Amazing to see in person for the first time. Would definitely recommend the tour, ask for Maggi when booking!

We had an amazing tour of the Great Wall with Kathy. She was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and helpful and explained the history of Beijing and the Great Wall in great detail. Our driver was great and the car was modern, comfortable and clean. We loved our visit to the tea house on the way home!

Easy Way to See the Big Sites

Murphy was amazing. Very knowledgeable, engaging, and knew how to navigate crowds. He was also really helpful in coordinating our pickup beforehand. You see a lot of the big sites in a quick and easy way while still having enough time to take photos and enjoy the pace.

Our guide Bruce was incredibly knowledgeable about every site, kept the pace quick and efficient even during the giant crowds of Golden Week bending over backward and going above and beyond expectations. Perfect way to spend your first day in Hong kong

This is the perfect introduction to Hong Kong. I did this tour the very first day I arrived and highly recommend to do this tour early on your vacation. We started in the financial area and learned about the “one country two systems” of Hong Kong, since Hong Kong is still basically under the British system of law, regulation, and trade. We visited Victoria Peak and learned about the old justice and punishment system by visiting the old jail near the midlevels. We had an excellent Michelin recommended lunch and capped off the tour with insight into the different religious institutions of Hong Kong. It was truly and interesting tour and I learned so much! I would say wear very comfortable shoes, it truly is a lot of walking.

Though it was definitely a lot for one day, Ben kept the group moving and was well organized. He offered a bit of history and answered all questions. The peak was more about shopping than the view, but you could walk on a path and get away from the people almost immediately. The sunset cruise was the best part; pay to go upstairs. The temperature was absolutely lovely and again there were not that many people. Dinner was more than dim sum. 10 different items. A good trip to do at the beginning of your trip to get an idea of where everything is.

Fantastic tour with an excellent guide

We especially loved visiting the fishing village and taking the cable car, which had amazing views. Eddie made the experience even more enjoyable and we would definitely recommend this tour to others!
