Spectacular Experience

One of the most spectacular experiences of our Alaska trip! We flew with K2 Aviation out of Talkeetna for a flightseeing tour over Denali National Park, and WOW! Seeing Denali, Ruth Glacier, the enormous snowfields and seemingly endless mountains from a small plane was absolutely breathtaking. Pictures simply cannot capture the scale and beauty of this part of Alaska. Our pilot, Riley, was fantastic, and our flight ended up including an experience we never could have planned. Conditions allowed us to land on a glacier, where we picked up two climbers/skiers who had been stranded there for three days! Watching Riley handle the glacier landing and pickup while surrounded by those massive mountains made the whole experience feel like something straight out of National Geographic. We booked this expecting a beautiful sightseeing flight and came away with a true once-in-a-lifetime Alaska experience. If you're visiting Talkeetna and considering a Denali flightseeing tour, DO IT—and K2 Aviation gets an enthusiastic 5/5 from us!

Best day ever!

Thanks to Fallon and Tavel, the two very experienced guides, me and my mom had a best day ever! It is so cool to have 3 hours on the glacier and do whatever you want. The guides know the best spot to explore. The tour itself is pricey but it definitely worth it!

Couldn't have asked for better

The staff was absolutely terrific, from the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell at the end of our experience. Their kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond made the day truly unforgettable. My tears of disappointment were overwhelming when I realized that, because of the changing weather, there was a very real possibility that I might not get this opportunity. It was also the last day of the season that this particular experience was being offered, so I thought I had missed my chance. We decided to try another one of Alpine’s adventures, to walk on Spencer Glacier and taste the incredibly fresh glacier water. We enjoyed that experience so much! But then, to my surprise, the wonderful crew back at the office called our pilot and coordinated for us to land in one helicopter and immediately transfer to another so we wouldn't miss the opportunity to see the sled dogs in action. I was absolutely overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness and determination to make it happen. While waiting for our turn—and again afterward—I was able to cuddle and love on some of the most precious puppies. It was such a special experience and one I will cherish for a very long time.

Great experience 5 stars!

We really enjoyed our flight and it was a beautiful day in Ketchikan. Transportation was smooth and we were picked up right at the port, it is a short 10-minute drive. The staff that greeted us on arrival were extremely friendly and helpful- very clean facility and they have some merch that you can purchase. As others have reported, the actual flight is about an hour and it was beautiful. The only thing that could use some attention is the “sound track” that they play during the flight. The pilot came on a couple of times to pint things out but it was minimal. Feel that is an area that could be improved as it feels very canned and impersonal- so just be aware of that- I would still highly recommend this flight!

Once in a lifetime experience. Just, wow.

For me, this was an experience of a lifetime. Truly incredible. I can't say enough good things. The whole process, from booking to leaving was so easy. I can't say enough about how well organized the booking, communication, and check-in process was. When I arrived (I was traveling alone) there was no confusion about where to park or where to go, as there were staff always around guiding you (and there was a moose calmly having a snack with it's baby next to the parking lot). The helicopter tour gave you a video safety briefing, and provided boots to go over your boots (and additional spikes they put on you once you hit the glacier in icy conditions). And then, there were the views... unparalleled. Just breathtaking. The helicopter guides, mushers, and all involved were so nice, informative, funny, and accommodating. This was so worth the money. I'll be talking about it, and sharing the one million photos I took, for years to come.

Do it!!! Best tour ever!

Don’t forget to TIP the mushers! Tanner and Brock went above and beyond on the glacier and made our tour a 10/10 and when we got back from the glacier we were all talking about how much fun we had and forgot to tip (via cash or Venmo). The company was so amazing and sent me our mushers names and Venmo’s the next day. We were a group of 7 and 100% recommend this tour to everyone. It was spectacular!!! Also! Talk with Chris! He gave us local recommendations and they were great for our group! 👏

Amazing people and experience!!

Worth the money!

Words can’t describe how incredible this experience was! Aaron was a great pilot (and photographer) and took us to 3 amazing spots that we could not have gotten to on our own. We got to walk around in each location and decide how long we wanted to spend at each. We chose to spend most of our time on the glacier, which was a blast to walk around with spikes on our shoes. Bring a water bottle to drink some glacier water! I definitely think the value was worth the price. We were a couple in the helicopter alone with the pilot and each spot had no one there. Do it!!!

The entire team was great. Special call out to our pilot Kyle, note only was he a great pilot, but an awesome tour guide who went above and beyond to show us wildlife, give us insight and snap some photos of us. I was against this tour due to the price but my wife insisted and she was 1000% right. Once in a life time experience with a top notch professional crew!
