Sea Lions, Bears, & Whales…oh, my!
Captain Josh & his crew truly provide an incredible, one of a kind experience on their whale watching tour! It’s so obvious that helping others appreciate Alaskan wildlife isn’t just a job for them, but, truly, a passion! Our family feels so incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to see whales, bears, otters, and sea lions during this fun filled excursion!

So many wildlife!
Amazing experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The all female crew (Yay!) was sweet, kind, and extremely helpful. The captain was so good at narrating and spotting wild life and driving the vessel around so we could see the animals and glaciers. We saw bald eagles, puffins, Orcas, a humpback whale and her baby, a sea otter with a baby on her belly, sea lions, and mountain goats and babies. Bring your Dramamine.

Best ever!
What an amazing trip out to see the whales! The crew of the Greg Ryan (Krichelle, Quen, and Monica) had the best energy, were very knowledgeable , and were as excited to see the whales as we were. This trip sure delivered! It was the best whale watch we’d ever been on, and we’ve been on several. Highly recommend!!

The Best Whale Watching Tour
Denice was our boat guide and she is native to Hoonah! She gave us a lot of history of the town, shared a lot about her family and was very knowledgeable about the whales. We saw a lot of whales and sea lions! We did another tour in Juneau and the one in Hoonah was far superior! I highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again if we visit the area again.

Not seeing something you are looking for?

No trip to the Last Frontier is complete without seeing some incredible wildlife. Alaska whale-watching tours depart from all of the state’s major port cities—including Juneau, Seward, and Icy Strait Point (Hoonah)—and vessels make it easy for cruise ship passengers to arrive on time for these exciting excursions. See humpback whales, orcas, and other wildlife up close during their annual migration, and marvel at their unique tail flukes as they dive near your boat. Plus, on-board naturalists offer interesting context.
