An amazing experience and would happily do it again!
This was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Vessna and Anika were amazing guides!!! They literally offered so many unexpected items so that you'd be ready to ride as comfortably as possible from rain jackets and pants to offering to store or carry your personal items. The equipment supplied was comfortable and well-maintained. It was a great 5 mile one way ride in a light mist to the hike point. Vessna was simply fantastic as she provided so much information and opportunity for us to experience the Tongass forest. We stopped frequently as she shared her extensive knowledge. Anika was also very helpful in helping us identify different plant species. We hiked down to the beach. It was just a 10+ experience all the way, even the ride back in the slightly heavier rain. Highly recommend.

Exciting and educational. Great captain and caring boat crew.
Captain Kailey was great to explain what we were seeing. We saw puffins, sea lions, sea otters, seals, a school of jellyfish. And, most important, humpback whales. We saw a pod of 4 adult humpbacks swarming around a school of fish. The captain kept the legal distance from the humpbacks. But, one humpback unexpectedly breached within 20 foot of our boat. We later saw a humpback and baby. Captain Kailey educated us that a baby humpback gains 50 lbs and 1 foot growth every day. The boat supplies binoculars. We got to area where there were 4 waterfalls. The captain pulled the front of the boat under a waterfall. About 10 of us got under the waterfall. Was a blast. When the boat got to the glacier, the boat crew fished one of the floating ice blocks out of the sea. The crew took all the pictures we wanted with the ice block. Then, the crew broke up the block and made glacier ice margaritas for those who wanted them. Was a fantastic, educational experience.

Book now!!
Hands down the best whale watching we have ever done, including our Iceland whale watching trip. The amount of whales we saw was phenomenal. Captain Josh was informative and had lots of details to share. Joe was kind, efficient and took amazing drone footage of otters and the 5 whales that were traveling together. I would definitely do this trip again and hope to if we are ever back in Hoonah (Icy Strait Point)!

We loved Eagle Island Sea Kayaking!
My adult sons and I enjoyed sea kayaking with our guide Sara. She shared so much information about what we saw and we felt confused and safe with her.
We saw dozens of bald eagles, a sea lion, seals, constellations of starfish, and the gorgeous plants and trees on the islands.

Great experience for our...
Great experience for our group of seven. Pickup instructions near our cruise ship dock were clear and easy, and the ride to and from the marina was fun and informative thanks to the great shuttle drivers. Captain TJ and naturalist Tamara knocked it out of the park, and we were lucky to have experienced it all on one of the few "sunny" days Juneau sees throughout the year. From multiple whale sightings to Mendenhall Glacier views to seals on a buoy to celebrity yachts in the harbor to dinner recommendations, we had a taste of everything this tour could offer. We love supporting small, locally owned businesses, and you won't go wrong supporting this one. Highly recommended, and hopefully we will have the chance to see these great people again!

Great learning and viewing experience.
Naturalist will talk about humpback whales and how they migrate. More importantly, they explain how to spot them, look for their tail and when to capture an epic photo. We followed 3 whales for a good period of time. Was even able to identify them via their tails. Bald eagles everywhere! Great time!

Just go!!!
What a great trip. The tour guides were excellent, informative and genuinely knew their stuff. I was a little concerned at first since we ran out a good ways before we actually saw some whales but once we saw them, we saw a lot of them. Orca’s, Humpbacks, sea lions etc….incredible. There was a passenger with us on another cruise ship that needed to get back early and they actually took us to a different disembarkation point that brought us closer to the cruise ships. They went out of their way to make sure he got back on his boat on time..

Beautiful and educational experience.
Staff was excellent, from the bus drivers, to the captain, to the environmentalist. All were very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. They truly seemed invested in ensuring that we had an enjoyable time and that we were able to see as much wildlife and scenery as possible while also offering background information and knowledge. We saw multiple whales, bald eagles, sea lions, and of course, Mendenhall Glacier both at the visitor's center and while on the boat.

Whales, eagles, and starfish oh, my.
I had great communication with Spencer during booking and the day of the excursion. Liam picked us up on time. We were on the water for about two hours. In that time we saw whales, eagles, and starfish. Erica and Ashley were our guides. They were knowledgeable and entertaining. We would recommend the excursion.

Best day ever
We had an incredible experience with Harv and Marv tours! We had the pleasure of being on board the Beacon with Stephen, Anika and Coral. The tour was super informative and they did an incredible job educating the passengers and staying safely away from the whales as they fed. My kids 9 and 11 highlighted this as their favorite excursion experience. The bus driver there and back was HILARIOUS too with his dry humor lol

Great Fun On Side-by-Side
Great experience. Christian was a great guide. He did his best to ensure we we comfortable with the Side -by-side. He answered and appeared to truly enjoy being there. We rode in the rain. The side by side is covered and the rain just added to the mud and fun.
The morning tour serves a huge breakfast and all the staff at the breakfast camp were friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this tour.

Zipline + bonus!
Fantastic experience! Bonus 15 min ATV ride before and after zip lining to get to the course. Guides Kyle & Shym were great- fun! Driver Colin was great too. The various bridges were another fun/interesting part. We definitely highly recommend this trip! We’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
No trip to the Last Frontier is complete without seeing some incredible wildlife. Alaska whale-watching tours depart from all of the state’s major port cities—including Juneau, Seward, and Icy Strait Point (Hoonah)—and vessels make it easy for cruise ship passengers to arrive on time for these exciting excursions. See humpback whales, orcas, and other wildlife up close during their annual migration, and marvel at their unique tail flukes as they dive near your boat. Plus, on-board naturalists offer interesting context.
