We had booked a tour of Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome
We mad our way to the meeting point arriving at the start time of the tour, However there was no sign of the tour guide so consequently missed the tour
I would love to submit a complaint but cannot find a complaints form from the web site or emails I had received.
So all in all a very poor experience. I would give this a zero star rating but you cant do that!
I would very much appreciate a response from Viator but don't suppose this will happen

This is our second tour with Crown tours,the first being a disaster. Find the purple shirts,download the app,make sure you bring both phones and headphones.....argh. We were on airplane mode,so no internet. The young lady was very kind and allowed us to use hers.Still not enough info to prep. Frankly I am done with this company not worth the headaches.

If you just want tickets and to see it, this is a good option. It comes with an audio guide which is helpful, you need to download on your phone and remember to bring ear buds. The instructions said to meet at the front entrance, no one was there when we arrived on time, had to call the office and they said the person handing us our paper tickets was on the side of the building, in the shade, it was really hot so understand why they didn't want to stand in the sun at the meeting place but a heads up would have been nice.

The Castel is a great activity to do before or after St Peter’s Basilica due to the location. There is a beautiful bar with a great view of the city at the top to have a refreshing drink.
My only two recommendations is that the ticket is not ‘valid’ until you arrive at the meeting point which was not at the specified location causing some stress to need to call and find the guide. They were aware of the error but it needs to be fixed.
I would probably not recommend needing to pay for “skip the queue” at this location as the lines are short and it’s well staffed. A regular pass could save you some $

This activity came highly recommended and we did not really enjoy it. There’s so much to do and see in Rome and this wasn’t it for us. The tour guide company did not communicate as well as other tours. We sat in the heat for a very long time before an employee of the castel told us they had moved around the corner to the shade. I’d probably suggest a different tour company if you really want to do this site.

This was an interesting bookend to our trip to the Vatican and St. Peters. We downloaded our audio guide and listened at the appropriate stops. There are some interesting exhibits, which threw us off a bit on the audio tour stops, but we weren't in a hurry and they added to the ambience.

We really enjoyed visiting the site, it was interesting the layers of history from Roman to modern. Additionally the views of Rome and the Vatican from the top of the Castel were amazing. Would recommend it for anyone interested in history.

The logistics of getting your ticket and then downloading yet another app was such a bad experience. You use up data downloading another app and kill your own battery listening to the audio. I do not recommend this. There are better your companies out there-use them.

Sadly there was no line to skip. You’ll be paying a premium for a service that does not exist. If you do join, do not be late. Terms surrounding being late is not clearly indicated on the voucher. My voucher was declared ‘invalid’ after missing the coordinator by 15 mins. Neither did she/the company offer to help/refund despite the monument entry being empty of queues. This raises the question on their supposed ‘timed’ entry.

This was ok experience. We did guided tours till now. You should have fully charged phones, headphones so u can hear audio tour. Guides were helpful in getting tickets, helping u download info. Recommend doing this if you are short on time.

This was an amazing place to visit for a few hours at a leisurely pace. We didn't bother with the audio guide and whilst I'm sure it was informative, we just enjoyed meandering and reading the information boards.
The meet and greet for our tickets was great, and whilst they come at a premium compared to on the door, there was a long queue the day we visited so our tickets ensured immediate entrance. Well worth it.

The Castle was great, however there are a lot of stairs and difficult walking conditions (Steep and uneven floors) not mentioned in the description. Meeting to change your voucher for entry tickets did not take too much time but could be described in better detail prior to your arrival. All staff were friendly and helpful. Nice place to visit.

The castle is great but finding were the tour guides were was very stressful. They were hiding in a shade behind the statue with no flag or sign (just t-shirts on), which was impossible to spot amongst the crowds of people.
Also pointless having to pay for 4 audio guides when you have yo listen on your phone - so tte smaller kids who don’t own a phone yet can’t listen

Reservations and collection of tickets from agent near entrance very easy and fast. I recommend a visit to this site to anyone visiting Rome. Brilliant place. Only regret the Corridor of Pope's was booked out.

We arrived at the appointed meeting place in plenty of time before our entry time. The tour operator had a line of about 20 people needing to exchange their vouchers for their Skip The Line tickets. They could not find about half of the guests vouchers. It took 40 minutes to get to our turn and we exchanged our vouchers and went on to enter the Castel Sant Angelo. There was never a line to buy tickets or enter this site so this “experience” cost us time and money.
As the tour operator had sent a text reminder about the ticket, I responded to them to say things were not working. They told me I was confused and that if I had arrived late, this was my problem.
My suggestion - if you are visiting and it’s not prime season, just show up, buy a ticket and enjoy without aggravation.
While visiting Rome we had about half a dozen either tours or skip-the-line tickets which all worked fine. Only the Castel Sant Angelo from Crown/Viator was a disaster. Maybe just don’t use those providers.

The guided audio did not work. The Castel was cool and there were several levels to explore. Recommend visiting but download a history of the Castel before visiting.
