Unforgettable experience!

What a fabulous experience! We had the most wonderful day with Gianni & Luca. We also got very lucky with our group of fun & adventurous folk. The weather was terrible, wind, rain & cold but we still enjoyed every minute (well some were challenging). Our guides were patient, well informed and considerate of all of our differing levels of fitness and speed. The weather gods gave us moments of sunshine, rainbows and stunning views at times. It was just a feast for the eyes. The lunch and wine tasting was the icing on the cake. We had delicious food, amazing olive oil, fabulous wines all served by our attentive server Alessandro. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed and at a nice easy pace. Our drive back down to Taormina was hilarious with our wonderful guide ensuring we were back in one piece! It was truly an unforgettable experience that I would love to repeat in a heartbeat!

Rainy But Not Washed Out

Although the weather was dreary and rainy, the tour was good. Kimberly, our tour guide, and Christos, our driver, both did their very best to make the tour memorable despite the horrible weather. They rearranged the order of stops, after conferring with us, to try to outsmart the deluge, we got wet at every turn, but the tour was still enjoyable. Thanks!

Enjoyable Tour of Messina, Taormina, Castelmola

Pick up and return drop off directly at the cruise ship was definitely a plus. Very comfortable 18 passenger van. Mariarita was an amazing guide. She gave a lot of historical information about the three areas we visited during the tour and recommended foods and drinks to try. Her humor made the tour even more enjoyable. We definitely recommend this tour.

From the moment we met our two guides, we were greeted with an incredible level of enthusiasm and excitement! Riding through the city in the open-air car was such a fun and unique way to experience its beauty. The ride was smooth, and we traveled through both the historic and newer parts of the city, with our guides providing wonderful explanations and stories about all the sights along the way. The cooler stocked with beverages and the basket of snacks were such thoughtful touches that made our three-hour experience even more enjoyable and memorable. We highly recommend this experience—it was truly one of the highlights of our time in the city!

Great experience.

This activity was alot of at fun with Chef Mimmo and the team. Made to feel very welcome and a perfectly relaxed cooking experience with the family. Learnt alot, had a good laugh and good company made the time fly by. Lots of good food and Wine to enjoy and a really good time was had by everyone there. Fantastic ( more than just a ) food tour.

Learn a little about Sicilian history and culture whilst enjoying some of the best food spots in Taormina. Great group and our guide was excellent, effortlessly accommodating any dietary needs without fuss which was greatly appreciated. Fantastic introduction to Sicilian food and culture made even better thanks to the personal involvement of some of the owners and staff along the way. Best tour I’ve ever taken!

We booked this excursion a day ahead as we weren’t sure how the weather was going to be. Since it was a bit of a rushed decision, I didn’t fully look into the details of what we were doing. As a result, I was completely blown away. For starters, our guide Alex was SO knowledgeable about volcanoes. I truly felt like I was on a series being made for the Discovery Channel the entire excursion because he knew so much. The tour itself started with a drive through Mt. Etna’s forest, where we learned all about how the volcanic ash adds nutrients to the soil causing the vegetation to truly thrive there. Our first stop was a cave made from lava flow. It was very interesting learning about how the lava and gasses shaped the caves structure and how it was used for an ice business back in the day. From there, we went further up Mt. Etna, passing by what seemed like fields of volcanic rock making it seem like we were on another planet. We stopped at a cute mountain chalet for some coffee in the woods, then continued our ascent to the hiking portion of the tour. In all honesty, I thought we booked a tour that didn’t have much hiking as I recently had ACL reconstruction surgery and I was a bit worried about what my knee could handle. While there were a few areas that challenged my ability, overall it was quite easy and Alex ensured we were safely getting around. We stopped every now and then to learn about the craters and the volcanic bombs and basically everything else that has to do with actual eruptions. After exploring the area, we made our way to Gambino Winery for an experience that was truly special. The lunch was the best food we’ve had since being in Italy and the wine was PHENOMENAL. Our waiter/sommelier was so nice, knowledgeable, and kept the wine flowing. I was honestly in shock over how much wine we got out of the experience. My partner is the type of person who doesn’t love to do tours and things of that nature, but he also had an amazing time. We truly cannot thank Alex enough for the incredible experience he provided for us. If you’re looking for a tour of Mt. Etna that combines adventure with a luxurious relaxing afternoon, look no further.

Great way to see the city and enjoy some tasty bites along the way!

Carlo did a fantastic job taking us around the city and showing us a variety of local tasty bites. We left full! It was a fun and casual day and Carlo made it so much fun. I recommend this especially if you only have a short time in Palermo. We still had time to walk around afterwards, but we felt like we had a better understanding of city and its culture.

Great experience

This was a wonderful tour of Mt. Etna and Taormina. Simone was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about the areas. He was great at keeping in touch with us via WhatsApp. He arranged a food tasting that was enjoyable. There were several options offered at Etna -- a hike around the lower part, ATVs, or cable car and bus to a guide who walked us around Etna for about 30 minutes. We also got to tour a lava cave. Taormina was lovely, but crowded. We didn't have much time there, but enough to get a sense of the city. Simone made the van ride interesting, as he had a lot of information to impart about Mt. Etna and Taormina. He also provided recommendations for things to do and restaurants to visit in Catania, which was a nice touch.

Amazing tour of Etna

An excellent experience with Alessandro. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about volcanos and Mount Etna and the local region. Tour started with delicious wine at a family vineyard on the slopes after a walk through the vines and the opportunity to see the locals at work picking and sorting the grapes. The tour up Mount Etna was really informative taking in historic lava flows, tunnels and breathtaking views, ending with a lovely lunch at a chalet restaurant near to the cable car to the volcano summit.

Don't Eat Beforehand!!

Extremely informative and well thought out tour!! DO NOT EAT any breakfast before you go to the 9:30 am tour!! Made that mistake! Our tour guide, Simona, provided insight into why foods are prepared the way they are and the origins of how they came to be! Very enjoyable and filling tour!!

Not just a tour - it’s the Sicilian experience!

We had the most wonderful day in Sicily with Alessandro and Marissa, visiting Castelmola, Taormina and Messina. From the very beginning, it was clear that they weren't just there to give us a tour - they wanted to give us a truly memorable experience. We started in beautiful Castelmola, where they took us to what must be the best bar in town. The story behind it is absolutely hilarious - ask Marissa to tell you the story! We had a lovely drink there, tried the original cannoli and, most importantly, had a lot of laughs together. Taormina was another highlight. It is absolutely beautiful, and Marissa brought the history to life with all the stories and details she shared with us. And then, on the way back, Alessandro and Marissa somehow transformed our tour van into a driving karaoke bus! J'& We sang along to some of the most famous Italian songs, which was such a fun and unexpected part of the day. And as if that wasn't enough, they took us for gelato after the tour - the perfect finishing touch to an already perfect day. If you're looking for a day in Sicily that feels personal, fun and full of genuine local experiences, I would 100% recommend Alessandro and Marissa. They have different tours available, so definitely check them out and find the experience that's perfect for you. Thank you both for such a fantastic day - we will remember it for a long time!
