Percent Puffin Morning!

We booked a morning puffin tour and were impressed with the consistent communication from Viator! The instructions on where to meet to get our ticket was very clear. With the extra time before our tour, we were able to walk around the Old Harbour for a bit. Once we met our tour guide, we found out that the boat we were supposed to travel on was stranded at the island! But they had a yacht as a back-up for us…so we still were able to go! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the puffins and other birds found on the island. The captain took us around both sides of the island and we were able to see SO MANY PUFFINS! They were swimming, flying and standing on the island. We saw many sea birds and even a seal! The trip was smooth and beautiful! Our morning completed by finding a cute coffee shop and watching boats in the Old Harbour. It was an excellent tour overall!

Great way to see the country

I booked a ride for my mother, my sister, and myself. While I am an experienced rider, they are not. But they absolutely enjoyed it and it was something people of all ages and experience could do together. The facility is in a beautiful setting and we rode the back country up to a river. It was lightly raining, but it was not a deterrent and anyone who needed extra gear or gloves had it available to them. We also had a issue with our booking time because we were arriving directly in our own car and not on bus pick up, but they were able to easily accommodate us for an afternoon ride instead and it all worked out amazing which I’m so happy for. I would recommend this to anyone as a great way to see a part of the country that you want from the roadside.

Best experience ever!!!

This was the BEST tour ever. Our guide was so sweet. I was very hesitant as this was my first time driving an ATV. The guide talked me through it and I was able to feel confident enough for the whole ride. The views were stunning and our guide gave us a lot of information about the area. Our guide even stopped for us to pet the horses. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough, my favorite activity on my trip.

Amazing Memorable Experience

Absolutely phenomenal tour! The three young women who ran the day were professional, friendly, helpful and skilled. The horses were well trained and patient with all of us inexperienced riders. We felt very safe and in good hands. We had a generous amount of time on the trails. And the red lava scenery was amazing,……like out of a movie. This was my most memorable excursion on the trip…..and I’ve had many wonderful excursions to compare it to.

It was amazing. I read reviews prior and many stated they thought it was too constructive, especially the neck. It was tight, but I didn’t find it that uncomfortable. I definitely didn’t want the cold water to enter! When prepping for it, be sure to wear a base layer - no bathing suit required. I definitely recommend this experience!

A must do experience!

I am so glad we did this experience! I learned so much about the Icelandic horses and got to spend a lot of time with them. They are so beautiful and friendly. We took a two hour ride through an 8000-year-old lava field and it was incredible. This is a unique and cool way to experience the land. Our guides were kind and fun and made sure we were well cared for. The ride accommodated all experience levels. I would absolutely do this again.

Great ride

We had so much fun on this ride! The horses were very well-behaved, but still a little spunky. Our guides were so friendly and good at teaching us all how to ride, and we even got to experience the fifth gait, the tort. The weather was quite dreary but it was still great to get out there on the horses.

Perfect way to get to know an Icelandic horse

Want a fun and personalized way to experience the Icelandic horse on vacation! My spouse and I took a private tour and felt like our preferences for riding speed, challenge and terrain were taken into account which made the ride exciting and interesting for us! We rode for a few minutes in an enclosed paddock to familiarize ourselves with our horses and a new to us riding style, before hitting the trails. Our guide provided lots of information about the history of the area in which we rode which was an added bonus! The horses were well cared for and beautiful! We were able to reach the stable in our rental car, but for those without a car, it is accessible on the bus line. Do not hesitate to book this tour!
