Wonderful day in Dephi

Our guide, Chris, was exceptional. Prompt, fun, informative and a superb driver. The tour was great. Most of our time was spent at Delphi, and it was amazing to see all of the ruins as well as an excellent museum. Chris picked out the best restaurant we've eaten at in the 3 weeks of our multi-country trip. Homemade pasta and the best lamb chops we've ever had. The car was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this tour!

The trip was great. While there is a degree of driving involved, our driver George made the drive interesting and informative and was a real pleasure to be with. We went to or thru a couple of cities and the oracle at Delphi and then to a very nice restaurant for a relaxing lunch. There were were appropriate rest stops or scenic areas for pictures. Fabulous guide! Very knowledgeable - different guide for the actually time at Delphi & the Museum. The guide took us to a family run restaurant for lunch - at our additional expense - but in the village of New Delphi so authentic cuisine. Delicious! It is a bit of a drive especially getting out of Athens collecting up all the passengers (about 16 of us) & then also for dropping folks off at then at several hotels. But we'll worth the time.

History History and more wonderful history

It’s an early start but well worth it. Nicos picked us up and drove us around. Extremely interesting. Get ready for a hike at Delphi. Don’t miss the stadium at the top. Worth seeing. Had a lovely lunch. Nicos was very good and informative. Would have liked a mock battle with the husband. I would have been the Spartan of course! 🤣 Be prepared for a full day and nap in the car on the way back to Athens.

The ruins are spread over a large area, so plan at least half a day to take in the highlights with a tour guide. You can buy Delphi tickets in advance or on the day and hire an audio guide.
Bring sunscreen, plenty of water, and comfortable shoes to walk around the ruins of the temple.
The Archaeological Museum of Delphi is wheelchair-accessible, but due to steep and uneven ground, it is not possible to visit the ruins up close via wheelchair.
