Top Greece Day Trips

I would highly recommend a day trip to Lindos if staying on the island. I was picked up on a luxury coach outside the Hotel. We first stopped for us at a nice viewpoint just before Lindos. The coach driver Nikos then give us good advice for the best way to explore Lindos, the beach and nearby St Paul's Bay in the 4 hours we had available. I first headed up to the Acropolis before the afternoon crowds. There are a lot of steep steps to the top so need to be reasonability fit to do this. The views though are well worth it and Lindos Acropolis is much better than Rhodes which doesn't have much left standing. After this I explored Lindos and headed down to St Paul's Bay. All the roads in Lindos town are narrow and mostly pedestrianised with many nice souvenir shops and restaurants. After mostly 4 hours of walking about I was quite tired but had a nice smooth relaxing journey and nap back to my Hotel.

Great half-day trip from Athens. Drive to Cape Sounion was picturesque and smooth. Once you arrive at the temple site, there is a longer route around where you can get pictures of the ocean, and then a shorter, more direct route up to the temple. I took the longer route and enjoyed it immensely. The day I went was cloudy so couldn't get that money shot, but sitting there taking in the setting sun at such a beautiful archaeological site was 100% worth it.

Roula provided terrific commentary and kept everyone on track. Spiros was an excellent driver who kept us safe. Overall, a great opportunity to get out of Chora for a day to see a variety of villages and sites. I thought it was a good mix of activities and we had ample time to explore on our own. It absolutely makes me want to return to Naxos so I can visit some additional spots; but it was a perfect day out and ideal for a non-driver like me (or for anyone who doesn’t feel like navigating hairpin turns on narrow mountain roads).
