What are people saying about Versailles

HOT and crowded. Excellent guide
An amazing experience. Tour guide was excellent. It was very, very warm and crowded while we were there, but our guide tried to keep a good humor about it and would navigate us to cooler spots in the building to tell us historical details. We enjoyed it very much (except for some inconsiderate people in our tour group who should not have been going on a vigorous walking tour who could not keep up.Do not go here if you cannot walk on uneven stone streets or up stairs.)

Great Tour
Anna was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the time period and expained everything with enthusiasm and clarity. I have health issues that cause me to walk at a slower pace when walking inclines and climbing stairs. She was very attentive to my needs.

Grand tour.
Wear good walking shoes. The grounds are vast. There is a hop on hop off train or you can hire a golf buggy. Go early or be prepared to stay late. There's so much to see. We made our own way there by metro and RER train. Fairly easy and meant our time wasn't restricted as on coach tours. Book ahead as the queue to get in is very long. Booking a tour means skipping the line. We included the King's apartments which was well worth it. There were 11 in our group. Our guide Nathan was very good, pointing out things we would not have spotted on our own. He used a mike and earphones so we could all hear easily. Definitely a highlight of our visit to Paris.

Versailles
Tour was very informative and we enjoyed it. Our tour guide was excellent and we appreciated all her knowledge. The one criticism was that we were given 2 hours free time after the formal part of the tour ended. That was too much time-maybe 30-60 more minutes would have been appropriate.

Just outside of Paris, Versailles’ claim to fame is its 17th-century Palace of Versailles, the over-the-top gilded residence of Louis XIV. Tours of this UNESCO World Heritage Site often depart from Paris and include transportation, but you can also opt to meet your guide right in town and head off to explore together. The most popular Versailles tours involve exploring the palace and its opulent gardens on foot, but you can also opt for a tour that allows you to zip around in a golf cart instead.
