We loved our tour of Versailles. Our tour guide enrol was so knowledgeable and patient. We enjoyed how he brought every area and room to life. Everyone we encountered along the way from the ticket agent was so accommodating and kind. Also the lines were very long so being with the group was an additional perk.

We had a great guide who knew history. As we were walking to the palace she was already sharing history lessons. She did amazing. We traveled with 12 and 17 year old and they loved it. We were staying in Paris. It was easy to get to the meeting spot by train.

Valerie was great! She had good facts and good jokes! The tour started later than planned so we had to leave a little early, but she was wonderful! Highly recommend but know you need to allow for about 6 hours if you want to see everything.

It was easy to find the location for our meeting point and we enjoyed the walk to the Palace. Our guide was very nice and informative and we really enjoyed our tour. The process was smooth from start to finish.

Worth Meeting Tour Guide at the Office from the train!

Rosalyn_L, Jul 2026
I took my daughter to Paris for the first time and we enjoyed this tour very much. It was lovely to hear all about the history of Versailles and about Marie Antoinette in particular as my daughter is the same age as she was when she arrived in France. We did a small part of the gardens on our own, but had no clue how large the grounds were. The weather was too dangerous to make the walk, so we stayed close to the main Palace.

Excellent tour; well planned

Dinshaw_B, Jul 2026
Very informative tour by very knowledgeable and helpful tour guide. Takes you through the lines very quickly. The assembly point is clearly marked out. They have a small office where the tour starts. This small amount of human contact is very useful for orienting the visitor.

A must do when in France, whether you have 2hrs or a full day, Versailles palace is a must do. Thrilling to go back in history! We had the best guide too. So enthusiastic and fantastic at bringing the past back to life with lots of colour and humour!

Informative Guide

Our guide, Danielle, was exceptional! She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She clearly explained each room in detail, pointing out both expected and unexpected items, and mixing in history with modern information. When the tour concluded, she made sure we knew what our next steps at Versailles could be and how best to get to those sections.

Worth every penny

Christine_Z, Jul 2026
For 90 minutes, we got an amazing explanation of the first floor of the palace. Our guide was whitty and gave us the straight and scandalous stories. Fantastic!

Kristina was great. She was very knowledgeable and coordinated the activity well. The Palace of Versailles tour was well worth it

Underwhelming

Sandra_O, Jun 2026
Touring Versailles was high on my bucket list but unfortunately, I found the tour underwhelming overall. However, the hall of mirrors was gorgeous and is the reason I’d recommend the visit. Touring the King and Queen’s bedrooms was a highlight too. Thought we would see more of the palace. I may have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t during the record-breaking heat wave in June 2026 and with a tour guide. The 100 degree weather caused us to skip the gardens.

Excellent tour experience—crowded and hot, but the guide Isabelle handled it all very well! Was very glad to have a guided tour when we saw the line of people waiting outside

Amazing tour

MarkWilhelm_M, Jun 2026
It was an amazing tour. The tour guide went into deep explanation about everything and went at a good pace. She was funny, engaging, and made the whole tour a pleasure. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a tour to Versailles.

Our guide, Leaticia, was wonderful! Very knowledgeable on all things French history. She was engaging, but also gave us the opportunity to enjoy the palace at our pace. My husband and I brought our young kids and we all loved the tour!

Highly recommend this tour

Good experience but at times difficult to hear and keep close to guide

Rachel_R, Jun 2026
The experience overall was very enjoyable. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was how crowded the palace was. It was very difficult to keep close to our guide and hear all of the information she provided. We were given headphones to hear her better, but even then it was difficult at times. I’m not sure that there would be any way to fix this, since it’s such a popular historical site. However, I did figure it worth mentioning since it had an impact on our experience. The guide was clearly very knowledgeable and I appreciated her willingness to answer questions. She was great.

Sophie was a wonderful guide, easy meet up and walk to the Palace. Very informative and was a very enjoyable experience

Worth it!

Amy_Z, Jun 2026
We were very glad to have a tour guide who could lead us through the chaos and point out important aspects of the palace and explain the history. The day we went was very hot and extremely crowded, so that made it a little harder to enjoy the palace, but I still preferred this visit over others because having a guide was so helpful. With the guide, you skip the lines too!!

Not worth the money of a tour.

Michelle_W, Jun 2026
Not worth the money. Danielle, our guide was nice and knowledgeable but for the price of this tour, it is not worth it. The general entry tickets into the Palace allow you to walk everywhere we walked and there are many information plaques in every room, and if you want more information, it is very easy to look it up on the internet (searching up that specific room and/or painting). I was very disappointed to pay a lot of money and have our whole group delayed from starting the tour because of 3 missing people, which wasted 30 minutes out of a 90-minute tour. Not Danielle's fault for having to wait for them and send them their tickets, but the tour company should not punish the people who show up on time because of unorganised people.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed Danielle’s guiding, and we’re very sorry the start felt delayed and overpriced. We completely understand how frustrating it is to arrive on time and be impacted by guests who are late. In this case, we contacted the missing guests and, once we knew they would not arrive on time, we asked Danielle to proceed into the Palace with the rest of the group since entry is time-sensitive. We appreciate your feedback and hope you still enjoyed your time in Versailles.

Best tour!

Fiona_S, Jun 2026
This was a fabulous tour and I highly recommend! Our guide was absolutely terrific. She said we could call her Chloe, sadly I can’t remember her traditional French name, but she was the best guide I’ve ever had. She was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and expertly guided a group of 25 through a very crowded palace. Even my 17 year old daughter loved the tour!!! I also was to thank the tour operator, we were running a few minutes late due to a train cancellation and I messaged them through the app, they were extremely responsive, and we were still able to join the group. This was a terrific experience all around!
