An interesting, informative and entertaining your
Our tour guide, Véronique, was pleasant, friendly, down-to-earth, and very knowledgeable. She explained not only the history of the development of Versailles, and the complicated lives of the aristocracy (shown in the many paintings), but also the ornate and sumptuous rooms (wow, the ceilings!) and their collections of artefacts. Our group of 20+ was quite large, but thanks to the tour guide audio system we were all able to follow her monologue easily, in spite of the noise. Versailles was absolutely heaving (hence the racket!); more so than usual apparently. It turns out that the day before our visit Versailles was closed to the public because Trump was there! What a waste of a day :-/ Very interesting tour though. Thank you Véronique for such an informative afternoon! After the tour, there's still the Versailles gardens to explore - and they're enormous! You could easily spend a day just walking round them and the surrounding parkland. Plan accordingly!

You do remember how to ride a bike!
Annie did a lovely job of sharing the history of Versailles with our group. E-biking through the gardens is the best way to see them - and it was fun! 😊 (The cheaper choice of 3 speed bikes were ridden by other tour members. An e-bike wasn’t necessary but was a great way to try one out.) The tour starts with the group purchasing food for our picnic. We bought a sandwich and salad at a bakery and drinks at a market near by. The short ride through the streets was easily navigable with Annie’s leadership. The visit to the palace after our ride was tough in 95 degree heat (no a/c) amongst the thousands of other tourists. Only visited the red zone (bedrooms) but saw wonderful furnishings and decor. Highly recommend!

Super engaging story focused tour!
Carolina did an incredible job keeping our tour super interesting and focused on all the stories of the Kings and nobility that lived in the palace. This really brought the history to life and made it much more entertaining for us and our kids as we walked through the palace. Afterward, we were admitted into the gardens and rented a golf cart to drive around, which the kids appreciated during the record breaking heat.

I have wanted to visit...
I have wanted to visit Versailles most of my adult life and we couldn't have had a better guide. She was very knowledgeable and was able to explain the history behind the Bourbons and the palace. Everything was so convenient from when we stepped off the van to getting back on. Thank you! I will never forget it.

Just outside of Paris, Versailles’ claim to fame is its 17th-century Palace of Versailles, the over-the-top gilded residence of Louis XIV. Tours of this UNESCO World Heritage Site often depart from Paris and include transportation, but you can also opt to meet your guide right in town and head off to explore together. The most popular Versailles tours involve exploring the palace and its opulent gardens on foot, but you can also opt for a tour that allows you to zip around in a golf cart instead.
