Lots of walking and the Vatican museums themselves can be crowded. Tour ends at the Cistine chapel itself but plenty of time also spent in the other must see Vatican museums. Although guide presented an in depth preview of the ceiling and its art history, guided tour ends before you enter the chapel and you are free to explore that yourself.

Everything was very well organised and ran on time. The skip-the-line option worked perfectly, and we waited only 5–10 minutes to enter the Vatican Museums. Highly recommended!

Day excursion to the Vatican
My wife and I recently stayed a couple of nights in Rome with friends prior to a cruise vacation. While there, we took an excursion to the Vatican booked through Viator. During our excursion, we saw the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peters. The tour was for the four of us only and that was really intimate unlike the many that we saw with dozens of people. Our tour guide Alesio Zito was very knowledgeable and detailed. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this tour highly.
