This was a wonderful experience! We had never been to St. Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel before! Lex was very knowledgeable and engaging throughout the whole tour! I really appreciated how he took the time to really explain the paintings in the Sistine Chapel before we went in! I would recommend this tour to anyone in Rome! Thank you Lex for a wonderful visit!!

Vatican Museum St Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel
Our guide Norman was very patient and informative with his knowledge of Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel & St Peter’s Basilica. Leonardo Da Vinci was amazing artist and sculptor. Respect. Lots of walking however expected. Would highly recommend 😄

Good tour
St Peter’s Basilica is beautiful and our guide had many interesting facts about the history of the popes and the basilica. I wish we didn’t spend quite so much time on just one fresco, as it was too much detail. Would have preferred more of an overview of the whole church and walking around it. I learned a lot though and the guide, Arturo, was friendly and engaging and very knowledgeable.

Davide was a fantastic tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and considerate of everyone's needs. The museum is interesting but the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica are the stars of the show, and for good reason. The magnitude of work within the basilica is incredible.

Vatican City
St. Peter's Basilica on a sunny day, Rome
  • Be prepared for security lines similar to those at airports, including metal detectors, bag scanners, and potentially long waits.

  • This is one of the most popular attractions in all of Italy, so crowds are nearly inevitable.

  • The Basilica of St. Peter has a strict dress code—no bare shoulders, midriffs, or knees—and you won't be allowed in unless you adhere to it.

  • A skip-the-line tour of the Vatican Museums that includes St. Peter's enables you to bypass the basilica's long entry lines; you still have to go through the security check.

  • Climbing the dome atop the Basilica to take in the fantastic views over St. Peter's Square, requires a ticket.
