Fantastic DMZ 1/2 day trip

Jenny from VIP Travel was an excellent guide. My partner and I were in a group of about 25 people (we didn’t know the others). Jenny was very engaging throughout and used the time fully. From pick up time on the bus, she shared background and interesting, clear & succinct information that set the scene for the 4 scheduled stops we had. I noticed at stops with some other tour groups, their guide would flip through physical sheets on folders. What I preferred about Jenny, was that she had done this on the bus, via the large TV screen and thus we arrived at each stop ready to focus on experiencing the sites. In terms of the sites, it was a unique experience seeing the DMZ. Our tour included a 30 min question and answer chat with a North Korean defector who spoke in English - his story was extremely insightful and touching. Pick up for us was at Seoul City Hall station at 0700. Drop off was just after 2pm. Despite the day being in the week of their historic heatwave with temperatures exceeding 37 degrees celsius or almost 99 deg F, the tour bus was cool and comfortable with excellent window tinting providing refuge from the scorching sun. Highly recommended and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Jenny’s love of Korea shone through particularly with her family links to North Korea. We researched the options prior to booking and glad we chose VIP Travel. Booked through Viator.

What an amazing tour! This affordable tour took us to many sites around Seoul. We particularly enjoyed the Gyeongbokgung Palace, the N. Seoul Tower, and the Ginseng Museum. Guide brought better binoculars 👍

Joo-ee did a great job showing us around, teaching us the history of the area and keeping us on schedule. She seemed pretty rushed and stressed in the morning, but that was to secure the first tickets and shuttle of the day. The rest of the day she was relaxed and fun to be around. She went above and beyond to bring high quality binoculars for each of us to view North Korea. They were better than the high zoom kiosks on the roof! So that was awesome and very appreciated. I highly recommend this tour! And doing it in a small group is much better 👍

Great day at the DMZ

It was the perfect schedule. We had a private tour, we were met at our hotel by our awesome guide, SJ. We had a nice drive out to the DMZ hearing some stories about his time serving his country as well as serving time in Iraq. We did the tunnel tour and then really enjoyed our time looking through the binoculars at the DMZ. Also enjoy a nice meal. We did not do the bridge tour.

Despite the tour being around the city center, there was a lot to see. We got to see the changing of the guards at Gyeongbokgung Palace, complete with beautiful pond and Mountain Views, try fresh Ginseng tea, and got to eat amazing food. Eddie was very kind and knowledgeable about each destination. Attractions are not too far apart, only requiring rides that are a maximum of half an hour.
