Tucan Eco Lodge is one of the newest lodges in the reserve, based down the Cuyabeno river it is around 30 Kilometers downstream from the entrance of the park and reachable by canoe all year long, depending on the season. The Lodge accommodates up to 24 people in two guest huts; divided into 3 cabins and 4 cabins. Each hut houses 2 – 4 people in double or triple bedrooms (as required) each with its private bathroom and shower. Fascinating experience

We had an excellent guide, Mauro, who took us to the Teléferico in the morning because the weather was perfect. Others should know that where the cable car ends at 3,000 meters, there is still a hike of another 1,400 meters to the summit. It was well worth the exertion and the views were spectacular. The second stop was Museo di Intañan where a guide taught us all about the equator. We loved it. Our lunch at Calima gave us the opportunity to try some local foods. It was excellent. Mauro was so kind, patient and gracious throughout the day. We would highly recommend him.

Amazing tour!

Viv was an amazing guide, she was able to direct our large group thru the streets of Quito and give us a lot of insight into the city, culture and history and food! We felt like VIP getting an inside tour of a private residence and the food tasting were so good! Lastly her chocolate tasting was so informative and well done. Our guide was excellent. We had one get altitude sickness (we are from sea level) and they were great and stopped when we needed and helped get us what we needed. We didn’t get to do all the hiking that we wanted to but that was because of us, not the tour. Couldn’t have asked for more from the agency.

A full day of adventure, with optional add-on's at different stops. The suspension bridge at the first adventure park was a really cool to walk across the valley canyon. The option to take a zip line right over a waterfall was a highlight of the trip for us and we were able to take the cable car back over the canyon which was also a great experience. Pailon del Diablo was one the most impressive waterfalls we've ever seen and you get to get right up close to it.! Overall it was an amazing experience and our guide Carlos was fun and very informative on the area of Banos. Would highly recommend doing the day trip from Quito!

The tour was great. It took about 11 hours from pick up to drop off. you need to be in ok shape to climb the mountain and id recommend not doing this on your first day (to give time to adjust to the altitude). Great food, views, and info on the tour. Irene was an excellent guide 5/5

We enjoyed our cooking experience with Chef Margola and Assistant Sylvia. They showed us each fruit or vegetable in its raw form, explained every step in each recipe, and allowed us to get "hands on" with some of the preparation. Best of all, we had a delicious meal at the end.

A fun high altitude hike and adventure

A fun experience outside of the city AFTER you are acclimated to the altitude! Dario and Fatima were great, they guided us well with the horses and Fatima had lots of patience on the hike up. We had perfect weather even once we were in the clouds by Basecamp. Took it nice and slow so no issues on the hike, and enjoyed some coca tea at the Basecamp. A long drive both ways but that's part of it. Make sure to bring tp and snacks, we did stop at a gas station that had good lunch options.

The trip to Mindo was fantastic. We were able to choose from several activities presented by our guide to fill in our day. We chose; a walk to a waterfall, viewing hummingbirds, riding a zip line bicycle, taking a gondola ride and having a chocolate tasting activities. Note that most activities have a small fee associated with them outside of booking the guide. From $5 -&10 dollars. Our favorites were the bird watching where we were surrounded by incredibly diverse and beautiful hummingbirds and chocolate tasting where we were walked through all of the steps required to make chocolate from cocao beans then we tasted various flavors of chocolate as well as other chocolate products. Ximena, our guide led us through all activities and provided tons of insight on the culture and history of the place.

Spent the day on a jam packed tour of Quito to include many sites and a very nice local restaurant for lunch. Jonathan was a great tour guide with tremendous knowledge of the area and region and accommodated our needs to be back so we could catch a flight to Guayaquil. Would highly recommend him to those who would like a better understanding of the area and an interest in seeing the key sites.

Fantastic day trip from Quito - must do!

Wonderful day trip from Quito! Christian was a fabulous guide - super well informed about everything we were seeing and an excellent driver. We had a lovely 2 hour drive to the Mindo cloud forest and stopped at an amazing hummingbird reserve where the birds flew right up to your fingers. Then a wonderful hands-on private tour of an artisan chocolate factory where we got to select, roast and grind our own cacao beans and then do a delicious tasting. Finally, a stop at a butterfly farm where we were surrounded by gorgeous butterflies in all stages of development. All in all, a great way to spend the day getting to know part of Ecuador outside of Quito!
