Brilliant service. Arrived early. We did the trip the way I wanted, Christian was brilliant and I would certainly recommend him as a guide.
Charles_M, Mar 2026
This is a pleasant way to get out of the city and experience the lush surrounding scenery without having to engage in a strenuous hike. Our guide, Pamela, was knowledgeable and considerate.
Cindee_S, Mar 2026
Daniel was our guide today and he did a great job! One of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. First, we visited the teleferico (cable car). We highly recommend doing the extra short hike to the swing and vista point - that was a highlight! We then visited the Intinan museum which marks the true Equator. Lastly we visited the monument at Mitad del Mundo a short distance away. Daniel was informative, helpful, and great to talk with. We highly recommend booking this tour!

Cable car ride to 4,000m enjoyable..standing on both sides of the equator will be a long-lasting memory.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cable car ride—reaching nearly 4,000 meters on the TelefériQo is always an unforgettable experience with incredible views of the Andes.
And of course, standing with one foot in each hemisphere at the Middle of the World Monument is a unique moment that many visitors remember for years to come.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you again in Quito for another memorable adventure!
Gill_S, Feb 2026
Excellent visit to the Middle of the World. Worth going to both sites. The weather stopped us visiting cable car which was unfortunate.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed visiting the equator and that you found it worthwhile to explore both the Middle of the World Monument and the Intiñan Solar Museum—each offers a different and fascinating perspective on the “Middle of the World.”
We’re sorry the weather didn’t allow for the visit to the TelefériQo, but we’re happy you were still able to enjoy the rest of the experience.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Quito for another adventure in the future!

This tour was a lot of fun and our guide Christian was exceptional. His smile and enjoyment in sharing his country with us was a major plus. We rode the cable car, hiked to the swings, and enjoyed a great view of Quito. After that we went to “Mitad del Mundo” and “Intinan” museum. Both were great with Christian acting as guide and interpreter. Tour took a little less than 6 hours and is highly recommended
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a fun experience and that Christian made the day so special. His enthusiasm and genuine love for sharing his country really make a difference for our guests.
It sounds like you had a fantastic day—from riding the TelefériQo and hiking to the swings for great views of Quito, to visiting the famous Middle of the World Monument and the interactive Intiñan Solar Museum. Having Christian guide and interpret along the way certainly helps bring these places to life.
Thank you for your recommendation—we truly appreciate it and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Ecuador!

First, I realized that there were two hotels in Quito and I sent a message to Viator. They were so kind and made arrangements to pick us up at the airport hotel instead of the one I had booked.
Christian was our guide and he was outstanding! He was knowledgeable, fun and made the trip so enjoyable. We learned so much more than we would have should we have gone on our own.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re very glad everything worked out smoothly with the pickup change and that the arrangements could be adjusted so easily for you.
It’s fantastic to hear that Christian made your tour so enjoyable. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendly personality really help visitors discover the history and culture of Quito in a much deeper way. We’re especially happy that the experience allowed you to learn more than you might have exploring on your own.
Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Ecuador!

This was a “spur of the moment” tour that I booked only 2 days beforehand and am glad I did. It was a good tour for me because I was traveling in Quito on my own without an organized tour group and it enabled me to visit some popular sites that were outside of the historic center where I stayed, but on the other hand did not take up the full course of a day. Ricky was an excellent guide who spoke good English and knew how to take the perfect pictures, in particular the one of me “holding the ball” at the Middle of the World monument. The Intinan Museum was particularly interesting even though I was unable to balance the egg on the nail. Although the weather was not ideal for the Teleferico and the clouds were coming in fast and furious, which obscured the view of Quito from the top, nonetheless it was great for the experience. Indeed our timing was perfect because it started to rain very hard the minute we got down from the cable car. I would not recommend the Teleferico on a rainy day though because it could suddenly be shut down leaving you stranded on top for several hours until after the rain stops. I am almost sure that it was shut down shortly after we left.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re really glad you decided to book the tour and that it worked well for your time in Quito. It’s a great option for travelers exploring the city on their own who want to visit some highlights outside the historic center without committing to a full-day tour.
We’re happy to hear that Ricky made the day enjoyable and helped capture some great photos—especially the classic one at the Middle of the World Monument! It’s also great that you had the chance to explore the interactive exhibits at the Intiñan Solar Museum, even if balancing the egg on the nail proved tricky.
Although the weather didn’t fully cooperate at the TelefériQo, we’re glad you were still able to enjoy the experience—and that your timing worked out perfectly before the heavy rain arrived. Thank you as well for sharing the helpful tip about visiting on clear days.
We truly appreciate your thoughtful review and hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels in Ecuador!
Richard_W, Jan 2026
Cable car was good fun but you may need to take things a easier at this altitude. Middle on the world (Intinan) was good mix of history, science and fun.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the experience. Riding the TelefériQo is always a lot of fun, though the altitude can definitely make it important to take things slowly and enjoy the views at your own pace.
It’s also great that you liked visiting the Intiñan Solar Museum, where the mix of history, science, and interactive demonstrations makes learning about the equator both interesting and entertaining.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you again in Quito for another great adventure!

Ricky Espinoza was my guide for a private tour and he made the morning very enjoyable and educational. Initially, I thought I made a mistake signing up for something that was
“very touristy” but Ricky did a great job giving me a taste of Quito history and culture without being boring. I found the Middle of the World fascinating! The guide at the museum was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. The cable car gave great views but definitely beware of the altitude. I did find my breathing labored.
It was nice to just have a 4 hour tour on my first day in Quito.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that Ricky made your private tour both enjoyable and educational. His goal is always to share the history and culture of Quito in an engaging way, so it’s great to know the experience never felt too “touristy.”
We’re also glad you enjoyed visiting the fascinating Middle of the World Monument and learning more at the museum there. And of course, the views from the TelefériQo can be spectacular—though the altitude can certainly make itself known!
It’s wonderful to hear that the tour was a perfect introduction to the city on your first day. Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Ecuador!
Krish_R, Jan 2026
Good experience to be at the equator with your feet on either of equator, one foot on the northern hemisphere and the other on the southern hemisphere
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the unique experience of standing right on the equator—having one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere is truly a special moment.
Visiting the Middle of the World Monument is one of the most memorable things to do near Quito, and it’s always fun to capture that iconic photo right on the line.
We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to see you again on another adventure in Ecuador!
Amelia_B, Jan 2026
This was a wonderful tour that hit all the highlights! My guide, Christian, was great from start to finish - he provided a ton of interesting information about not just the Middle of the World but also Quito and Ecuador more generally. As this was my first stop in Ecuador, it was great to get all this info!
We were able to see both Mitad del Mundo and Inciñan, which were two different takes on the “true” equator line (one traditionally derived, the other using GPS technology). I really enjoyed getting both takes, and both spots were places that I learned a lot!
It was very cloudy on the day of travel, so since I was the only person signed up for the tour, Christian offered a chance to skip the cable car (since I wouldn’t have been able to see anything but fog) and instead visit El Panecillo, the large statue of the Virgin Mary that you can see from almost everywhere in Quito. This was a great decision - I hadn’t planned to visit, but Christian made it interesting and I’m so glad we went!
Overall I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in learning more about Quito, Ecuador, or just looking for an intro to the city.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that your tour with Christian was such a great introduction to Ecuador. Starting your trip by learning about the history, culture, and geography of Quito is a wonderful way to begin exploring the country.
It’s great that you were able to visit both the Middle of the World Monument and the Intiñan Solar Museum, each offering a different perspective on the equator and its fascinating history. We’re also glad Christian could adapt the itinerary due to the weather and take you to El Panecillo to see the iconic Virgin of Quito statue—sometimes those unexpected stops become the most memorable parts of the day.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for sharing your experience. We hope the rest of your travels in Ecuador were just as enjoyable, and we’d love to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Nice trip and excellent guide. We saw a bear eating on the cable ride up. The middle of the world was interesting with nice activities. Recommend for sure.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your great review! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed the trip and had an excellent experience with your guide.
Seeing a bear during the cable car ride must have been an incredible and unexpected highlight—what a special moment in the Andes! We’re also happy you enjoyed visiting the Middle of the World Monument and taking part in the fun activities there.
Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you again for another memorable adventure in Quito! 🐻🌎🇪🇨
Alice_T, Dec 2025
Our guide did not take us to the Mitad del Mundo as described in the tour description but rather to the Museó Solar Inti Ñan.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion during your tour. We’re sorry that the visit did not match the description exactly as expected.
Instead of the Middle of the World Monument, your guide took you to Intiñan Solar Museum, which is another well-known site on the equator that offers interactive demonstrations and cultural exhibits. However, we understand that it’s important for the experience to reflect what was originally described, and we truly regret any disappointment this may have caused.
Your feedback is very valuable to us, and we will review this with our team to ensure clearer communication and that future tours follow the itinerary as described. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in Quito.

Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that Christian made your Middle of the World adventure unforgettable. This tour is perfect for discovering the rich equatorial history of Ecuador—and of course for capturing some amazing photos! The combination of mountain scenery and those breathtaking bird’s-eye views truly makes the experience spectacular. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!

This tour hit all of the elements if you want to experience the Middle of the World. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area and how to maximize seeing it all in an uninterrupted way. The monument and grounds was awe-inspiring and then the more commercialized village had some interesting aspects with the hemisphere experiments.

The tour exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Ricky, was very professional, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. This was our first dayin quito and we were a little bothered by the altitude. Fortunately, Ricky was prepared to handle that. We chose to have a light lunch and he chose a lovely cafee with delicious empanadas. Our final stop was the Intiñan Equator Museum, a fascinating museum with terrific scientific but simple experiments related to the mysteries of the equator. The tour covered a lot of territory and it would have been very difficult to do that on our own. We were very grateful that we had Ricky as a guide and a driver.
